I don't think Apple will even bother to send out PIs all over the US just to check for people running OS X on PCs.
I don't live in the US.
Really who the fuck cares as said before Apple doesn't care enough about a single person. It's only there to keep other companies and shit like Pystar from doing this. Search google for SnowLeo. It's updated to 10.6.2 and is patched for AMD cpus and SSE2 and shit. You can probably download the patch files too if your so concerned with keeping shit legal.
-snipsnap-
I always use the latest iDeneb release, since it installs on almost anything. Both AMD and Intel platforms alike.
Shit still work on stuff like pentium 4's? say a 1.4GHz?
I wasn't even aware the Athlon 64 had SSE3.
They don't, at least the Socket 939 Athlon 64's don't. The AM2 versions probably have SSE3.
Shit still work on stuff like pentium 4's? say a 1.4GHz?
No, the CPU needs to have SSE2/3 extensions. Any CPU made before late 2005, early 2006 most likely doesn't have SSE3, but may have SSE2.
It's got SSE2. I'm guessing it'd be slow as hell though? [editline]04:33AM[/editline] Ohh and I doubt it'd support a GeForce 6200LE. Only thing I got laying around. :frown:
My Socket 478 P4 ran at 3.0GHz with HyperThreading enabled and supports SSE3. It's a Prescott core. Runs Leopard 10.5 beautifully.
Oh yeah, it's a Willamette but uses RDRAM :ohdear:. And an agp slot. I should try this sometime just to see if it works, maybe even on my old G3 powermac :D [editline]04:42AM[/editline] I think I remember seeing patches that'd let OS X 10.5 run on older macs
10.5.2 will run on darn near anything.
To get the installer to run on my Phenom I had to boot the installer with busratio=17. If you're get an rtclock kernel panic which I was, the busratio= is your solution. You wanna use what your CPU's clock multiplier. Some other useful commands are -x GraphicsEnabler=n arch=i386 cpus=1 You can use any of these commands together. Things like Intel Speedstep and AMD cool n' quiet can cause kernel panics sometimes too.

What the EULA means is they'll deny you support and void your warranties and such.
I don't care, I can always re-install :3:
Still waiting for root device.
Still waiting for root device.
If you're using an IDE dvd drive it has to be set to master, and if it's a IDE hd it has to be slave. Otherwise you need to enable ACHI mode in the bios.

Utilities>Disk Utility Then format your hard drive or partition and use journaling. Then it will let you select the drive. You're going to want to hit customize before starting the install and picking the kexts you need for your hardware along with the kernel. Most of the of options have good descriptions. Also when it starts the install process skip the DVD check.
Ok, I will try it [editline]11:27PM[/editline] Cowguy, check your inbox
Windows formatted the hard drive, now it says it is "RAW" not "NTFS" Tried reformatting it again but it didn't work.
Why didn't you use Disk Utility to format?
Format your HD as HFS in Disk Utility.
Someone might have to show him with a screencap drawn in crayon before he figures it out...
LinuX - Is it working?
Once you get it installed, I'd patch your DSDT http://pcwizcomputer.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=150&Itemid=48 It will keep you from having to use bootflags and you can just straight up boot normally. Should help with hardware compatibility issues too.
Nope, it still didn't see the hard drive. Can I make a partition and use that as the Mac OSX disk?
