Yep, I own a couple of pairs of them. They really are quite good for a pair of earbuds. I think everyone should give em a try and own a pair, considering how cheap they are. Vocals are pretty great on them.
Shame they aren't IEM's, otherwise I would get them as a cheap on the go option.

Well IEM's has plenty of cheap options, there isn't really many earbuds that you can say are "good" or "great" at that price.
I hate IEM's though, they are just uncomfortable as fuck.
Earbuds are the most uncomfortable thing ever invented. IEMs are fucking wonderful, keep forgetting I have them in because I can't feel them.
For the first time in the 7-8 years I've owned this shitty Antec 900 case, I've never once been able to use the front panel audio.
Today I accomplished front panel audio that sort of works by disconnecting the ground and the USB to the front panel. However it's still a piece of shit and if I plug in the mic after plugging in the headset it wildly enables/disenables the mic. I must first plug in the mic then the headphones.
I've been trying to get working front panel audio for years and now I'm not sure I even want it. Can't decide if I want to get a usb3 hub for my desk since the front panel is usb2 or if I should get some sort of of drive bay insert thing but with my luck those will use unshielded grounds too.
Maybe just grabbing the Corsair 450D I've been eyeing forever now would be a better choice. Does anyone have any recommendations if they've gone through something like this?
Yeah I asked because I kind of grew tired of IEMs, I have very small ear canals and IEMs dont really fit in there. Decided to get a pair of earbuds for something small and also a pair of portable headphones (eyeing the Audio-Technica M40x in that regard)
[editline]18th December 2015[/editline]
I may go back to IEMs actually but I have to find a pair that fits well in my ears.
I will say that my left ear canal (or the flappy bit I don't know) was way smaller than the right and was annoying to get the thing aligned right (fell out so many times) and got annoying after like an hour for the first week before it expanded. I considered using a smaller plug but by the time I remembered it came with other sizes it wasn't an issue any more.
I can't wear headphones in public, I'd just feel like a massive twat.

Problem I have is they block all the sound the way they are positioned in my ear.
Loosening them up makes it much better but they become so prone to falling out it's not worth it for me.

I use my M50x in public, mostly on public transit. No fucks given tbh.
I don't want to hear the loudness that surrounds me.

I can confirm that nothing is more twatty than guys with headphones
specifically beats by dre
in fact, exclusively beats by dre, everything else is fair game

Not open headphones. Even if you're rocking a sweet pair like the hd 650's, if I can hear the music coming out of your headphones your place on the twat-o-meter just went up by 11.
Open headphones in public. Don't do it guys.

Even with comply tips I just can't get used to IEM's they feel awful and just not comfortable at all. For me that is. I just prefer earbuds with foams on them and they work just fine, and don't get uncomfortable.
Headphones are honestly too bulky even if they fold up and all that for portable use, even something like the momentum thats designed that way, I'd rather just use my VE Monks or just not listen to anything. I usually don't listen to music outside of my house other than in my car anyway.

Not to mention they would sound awful with all the loud noises that you would hear using them outside. And you couldn't power HD650's on a phone or player anyway.

This is so accurate for me as well holy crap. I don't think I would feel comfortable wearing headphones outside, I decided to stick with IEM's.
Speaking of, I just ordered a Trinity Techne for $40. Let's see how this goes. Here's a review of them: http://www.head-fi.org/products/trinity-techne-dynamic-iem/reviews/12894
So I'm looking at buying Headphones for a Guitar Amp, do you guys have any suggestions for headphones because I have no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for?

What kind of headset are you using?

Shure SRH440 probably

Sennheiser HD518's and a Dealextreme mic, I'm getting a VModa BoomPro to replace the crappy mic though.

You can try a couple of male to female 3.5mm extension cables and have it wired so that the cables go from source to the edge of your desk. Then you can just plug your headphone and mic into the extensions.

I was trying to avoid draping cables anywhere since my setup already has had that. I think I'm just going to grab a new case as soon as the next time the 450D goes on sale. I was more looking for some sort of more permanent port setup with a DAC or along those lines maybe but the most cost effective thing in the long run to do would be to toss this junk case.

Opinions? Appears to have good reviews.

gaming devices and headsets no less are very easily pretty awful for audio
7.1 is really a complete gimmick, it's all software. Any pair of good headphones has surround that sounds just as good, if not easily better. I can easily hear behind and infront of me using good ear speakers.
even the best 7.1 gaming headsets make shitty headphones no matter how you slice it.
just avoid any 'gamer gear' really

So what should I get then
A good pair of headphones, sennheiser, Phillips, akg, etc. and a modmic
Instead of the modmic, I'd save the extra money and go with the VModa BoomPro.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BJ17WKK
Then you have unlimited options on any headphones you could ever want with a 3.5mm jack on them such as the Philips SHP9500 which are popular right now.
http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHP9500-Precision-Over-ear-Headphones/dp/B00ENMK1DW/
Or if you want to save a little money you could buy some entry level Sennheisers like the HD518's, ect. If you go the Sennheiser route you'll have to take the locking cam out of the 2.5mm jack which really isn't needed. All you have to do is pop the left driver out then remove the 4 screws holding the jack board and cam in place then remove the cam and put the board back in place.

I just want to replace a 2 channel stereo with surround sound wireless headphones. PC already has bluetooth, so if I can do that for under $100...
Stereo is stereo. Surround sound headphones are a gimmick.
Wireless headphones are kinda crappy but if someone else wants to reccomend some

You're looking for the worst possible combination of stuff.

So what should I be looking for then? Haven't really spec'ed out headphones lately.

Jaybirds, although that's the upper segment of wireless headphones.

If I can hear the music you're playing then that's the cardinal sin right here boys.

Hd558 or SHP9500, both under 100 on amazon. Both open cans. I'd lean on the shp9500 based on previous experience, and the 558 because of sennheiser's track run.
If you extend your budget quite a bit, the fidelio X2 can be purchased $145 used from amazon because of some cosmetic defects with the latest batch. But at that price, it's a steal.
