love how the plug is half as long as your ipod
It looks even larger due to the angle of the image :v: It's not like I can solder a teeny weeny headphone jack by myself anyway I personally love it, especially the spring
it does look super snazzy though and that spring would probably help with the longevity nice job!
btw got my m50s today and they come with a springy type thing on the jack, so if the masters over at audio technica are doing it then you're doing something right :) [t]http://u.cubeupload.com/GenericMonk/IMG20130510145422.jpg[/t] also listened to some vinyl because i'm mlg pro and it sounds amazeballs [editline]10th May 2013[/editline] (also I think I just bought the same pair of earphones as you, I hope they don't fucking disintegtate after 2 months of use like every other pair of earphones I've used

As in you just bought the JVC Xtreme Xplosives? (I hate saying that name, it's so cheap sounding)
You mean me? As in you just bought the JVC Xtreme Xplosives? (I hate saying that name, it's so cheap sounding)
Yep, they were the most popular model on amazon and my previous earphones broke, hopefully these'll last slightly longer, though I didn't pay too much
Yep, they were the most popular model on amazon and my previous earphones broke, hopefully these'll last slightly longer, though I didn't pay too much
Oh man you don't even know, they are easily the toughest earphones I have ever owned, I go through headphones really quickly, but these lasted me over half a year and only broke because I ran them over with a skateboard If something does go it'll most likely be the headphone jack, but you can easily solder a new, tougher one on to them (as I did)
thank fuck, I'm the fucking grim reaper of cheap earphones
what DAC/amp would you recommend for the sennheiser hd-650 at around 100- 200 $ Canadian ?
I've heard good things about the Schiit Magni/Modi combo, but it's normally recommended to spend about as much on an amp as your headset in order to get the best performance. If you somehow come into a windfall of cash, I've heard people rave about using the Schiit Lyr with their 650s.

They're cheap, but they look and feel a hell of a lot more expensive than the last pair of headphones I had.
I just bought a new set of earbuds, Sennheiser CX200's. When plugged into my computer, they hiss/whine and it doesn't matter what volume they're at. If I mute it, it stops. My old headphones, JVC Marshmallows, either don't do this or filter this out. The headphones are plugged into an extension cord and then into the back of my computer. I tried directly into the back, that didn't help. They don't make the sound plugged into my phone, a Galaxy S2. I'll try cleaning the port tomorrow, and I'll try re-installing drivers now. Edit; I took the filter out of one of my Marshmallow units and ended up hearing the same whining, so there's probably just static/whining from my onboard audio. The fact that i had no whining on my marshmallows, and no whining with the CX200's on my phone, but had whining with the CX200's on my computer had me really confused. I didn't realize my DIY filters were really that good.
they arent cheap in the UK, amazon doesnt sell them and places that do they're almost £50
Since when didn't Amazon sell HTF600's on the UK? One of my mates bought a pair from them last year or so.
Holy dick everything sounds so much better through my speaker amp compared to my line out on the front of my PC

I know they do, I was questioning why he thought that they didn't.
Huh. Those are slightly different than the ones I have. 600-s vs 600E-s
Huh. Those are slightly different than the ones I have. 600-s vs 600E-s
Mislabeled by Amazon. Look at the description.
Guess I read it wrong. but this part
The RP-HTF600s are excellent full size, closed type digital monitor headphones. They offer exceptional sound reproduction due to its large 56mm driver unit and frequency response of 10 Hz-27 kHz.
Last I checked they were still 50mm drivers. Honestly I have no idea the difference 6mm makes though.
sorry for linking some headphones landstorm, wouldn't want to anger you into a dumb spree again QQ
I ended up installing a spare PCI sound card i have. It still has static, but no where near as bad and its a completely different kind. This was a cheap card, so it may just be that. Ill mess around and see if i can fix it. If not, can someone recommend me; A cheap ($20-30, possibly 40 if its very good) PCI audio card? As far as features, it only needs support for headphones and a mic. So i dont need to spend extra for 7 channel if theres a 4 channel thats just as good. I really prefer it to have an equalizer feature in Windows.

How much are the m50s overseas? And are there any good vendors shipping them to europe? I tested them out for the first time today and I have got to say I was impressed, but it would’ve been nice to shave off a few dollars/pounds by importing them.
Xonar DG. I have one and it is great.
I looked it up, that sounds like a great card. Im assuming it has equalizer settings? I dont see it mentioned on newegg, but it really sounds like it would. Anyone else have recommendations? I prefer to purchase from US Newegg or Amazon by the way.

It has a bunch of preset ones that are actually not bad, but you do have full control over it. You can even create ones and save them. [editline]12th May 2013[/editline] I wish it had profiles though. Like where I could have it save settings to where it changed to specific settings when I plugged my headphones into the front panel. That would be amazing. [editline]12th May 2013[/editline] In other news: Ordered some m50s because they are on sale for $100. http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B000ULAP4U [editline]12th May 2013[/editline] Do I need an amp that badly or will my Xonar DG handle them fine?
You should be fine without an Amp
You should be fine without an Amp
Good. Thinking about getting something like a FiiO E6 for listening from things other than my computer.
