Looking for a really good set of over-ear headphones for noise cancelling as I listen to music all day, including my commute on the noisy underground.
I am drawn to the Bose Quiet Comfort 35, it has loads of good reviews, but is there a better set out there?
I tried the QC35 the other day and in comparison to the QC25 it didn't seem as good in terms of noise cancelling, though it was hard to tell with just trying them on in store
Thanks
Unless you're only hearing the droning sound of your engine the entire time, noise cancellation isn't going to help you too much. You should consider noise isolation instead like the sennhesier urbanite, Vmoda m-100 crossfades, meze 99 classics, or the AT-m50x's (Clamp on these is insane though)
Or even consider IEM's like the meze 11's (which I hear sound excellently organic)
Hmm but the blue has 48 ohms so would that make it an overall better pick since it also does have a built in amp?
I'm so conflicted. Lol
The three of them should need external ampage, unless it has crazy high impedance (like 300-600) or if it's planarmagnetic, it should be fine. (Oppo's can run off portable though)
If only this didn't end the day before I get paid

I'm looking for any sort of headset for pc that has decent sound and mic, as atm i'm using a 5 year old xbox 360 turtle beach and the mic is terrible, my price range is from whatever to £100 maybe a little more at a push but only like £30 more
Kingston Hyper cloud X

That 7kHz treble spike is scary though.
Gut is telling me to go for the sennheisers after another day of listening.
So I was looking at some earbuds for work and I was checking out the RHA MA750i's and I kept thinking they look real fuckin' familiar. Turns out I recommended them to my dad over two years ago and now he is letting me bum them for work when he isn't traveling. Neat.
Just got the Sennheiser PC350's from newegg for a pretty good deal

Good deal right?
so I've got these in my possession now
Holy shit, I have to report, these are fantastic.

This may be interesting.
The HyperX Cloud I or HyperX Cloud II, what would you guys say?
I think i'm gonna go with the cloud I as it seems most people say they're pretty much the same just the II has the usb 7.1 soundcard which isn't that great
Time lapse of yesterday's headphone meet. The LCD 2's sound excellent out of the jotunheim and I got to try out a lot of other juicy stuff.

Heya guys, I don't know your opinion on these but I got myself a pair of Bose QuietComfort 35. I've tried them for around 15 hours by now and I have to say they sound absolutely amazing.
I'm in love with the active noise cancelling, absolutely astounding. Had no idea it'd be this good at isolating sound.
The battery has lasted me well over these 15 hours and it's still sitting at 30%, it's blowing me away, specially since they're so light.
A friend of mine has a pair of Sennheiser HD 598 SE and I'm eager to compare them when we have the chance.
What do you guys think?
Really can't go wrong with bose imo
Got a pair of Sennheiser Urbanite XL's for $70 with shipping. They're refurbs but I can't see a thing wrong with them. Really stylin' little headphone with nice bass, not MASSIVE BASS like the product page says (thank God), maybe a little more sub bass than I'd like, but nice fuckin' soundstage. Cups are smaller than I thought they would be but they fit my ears fine regardless and they're light. Been wearing them around the house not even plugged into anything and they stay on my head nice, which is great since I bought them for work.
Good for on the go? Where'd you get them for that price? Still looking for a long term replacement for the Senn Momentum On-Ears that were liberated from me.

I can only assume they're good for on the go since they're being made for that kind of market. I got them off Amazon but it was a third party seller. You can buy a used pair from Amazon for $67.02 right now from Amazon Warehouse Deals.
This is the wrong thread I know (too lazy to find the right one) but I'm using a FiiO USB DAC headphone Amplifier and the amplifier turns off whenever volume is too low, for example I' hear slight static when it's on but it turns off completely if the volume of whatever I'm listening to is low enough and you can hear a click and it's very annoying.
This thread should really be called the audio thread or something, people bring up amps and speakers all the time.

Maybe HiFi.

Which model Fiio are you using?

Joined the HiFiMAN RE-00 drop on Massdrop to complement my VE Monks... can't wait
My JVC Extreme Explosives arrived. They sound great, they're comfortable and the bass isn't too overpowering.

E10

I know it kinda sucks, but have you considered reducing your computer's source volume? that way you'll have more headroom to adjust your e10k's volume knob. Also, is your gain switch on low gain?
In other news, Schiit just released the Fulla 2, a Dac/amp which features the AK4490 DAC, the same one used in the Bifrost and the Magni 2 Uber. For $99 too.

Wait I don't want to spend any more money.
Wore the Senn Urbanites for at least seven hours today at work. Very comfortable the whole time.

Is the Magni/Modi still a better bang for your buck versus this?
Hard to tell since I haven't heard the Fulla 2 yet, but looking at the numbers. The Fulla would be an excellent choice if you had "normal" headphones (Think m50x, hm5, hd598) where you don't need all that extra juice that the Magni provides. There's still that grey area for harder-to-push headphones like the hd6x0 and for many planars on the market. But Schiit has the magni for that.
If anything, the Fulla 2 is a hard contender for entry level tier. Made in america, ak4490 DAC, preamp, and within spitting distance of the fiio e10k? For starving students with shallow pockets and a passion for audio, or for anyone who couldn't shell out $198 for the Schiit stack, this is a no brainer.
Man prices in this country are fucked.

addicted to audio has really inconsistent pricing. sometimes things are a bit cheaper, sometimes they're way more expensive. i don't know if i'd shop there if they weren't right around the corner from me.
I'm honestly surprised you guys got a new fairly niche product so soon
