Not related to headphones per say but does anyone know of any good microphones that can be paired with open cans?
Off the top of my head, Samson Go, Samson meteor, blue snowball, modmic 5 is out now, AT2020 usb, Blue yeti usb. Depending on which headphones you have, V-moda boom pro for Hd558/598/sph9500/Fidelio X2/Vmoda Xfade. I personally use an At2020 XLR out of an audio interface because it gives me a nice warm-bodied sound.

Well I got the HD6XX's from MD coming in and will have a magni/modi stack to go alongside it. [editline]9th December 2016[/editline]
depends if you want usb or xlr mic
Either works. I'd just like best bang-per-buck ratio with a max of $100 ish spent +-$25
So my external soundcard, a Behringer Xenxyx 203USB is on it's way out. There's some loose connection in there so I have to wiggle the faders and tap the buttons to get the sound coming through properly in both channels. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for good external sound cards. I'd like one that has the treble/bass faders like this one, I really like the extra control, especially on the mic too - though that's not as important as controlling the output. My budget is anywhere below £100.
Budget: 150~ USD eBay: No Country: USA Isolation: Don't care Purpose: General Use/Running/Lifting Music Tastes: Hip-Hop/Electronic Previous Experiences: Had a pair of Sennheiser CX200's, bass was pretty good and punchy but it was a bit lacking in clarity in the high ends. Had a bunch of cheaper IEM's since then Comments: I'm looking for something with a strong low end since I primarily listen to Rap/Hip-Hop but I don't want to sacrifice the clarity of the mid's and highs since I still enjoy the vocals. I'd also prefer something that isn't fragile as I use my headphones in the gym quite often. tl;dr basshead who doesn't want to sacrifice the higher end for it.

Bulky construction too.
Whelp, new phone has better audio quality than the on board sound on my PC. Getting a DAC for christmas, going to be great, until then there is going to be a bunch of swapping headphone jacks around to change between music and videos or whatnot. Also doesn't drop volume when there's bass which is nice.
I have heard a lot of good things about xiaomi in ears for their pricepoint, but are their latest Mi In-Ear Headphones Pro HD worth it or should I go for something else? http://www.mi.com/en/headphonesprohd/
The Xiaimi pistons definitely had their fanfare, but I haven't heard their latest model yet. If you do decide on grabbing a pair, be sure to come back and tell us what you think about them.
Reripping all of my cd's with Exact Audio Copy, two hours per cd sucks! But it's going to be so worth it. Also, does anyone have experience with Pro Audio Sound cards? I was thinking of getting the RME Hammerfell 9632 to try to get away from USB sources.

If I disable test and copy and cache bypass it rips at 30x speed. Decent one is like $20.
The cd drive I'm using actually showed up today lol. But I'm using three computers with three cd drives to help share the work load. [editline]when[/editline] Doing secure rips, x2.1 speed sucks.

I don't think you can find "pro audio" internal sound cards That RME is probably your best bet but honestly I have not heard of the company
So did you have any other suggestions for USB or XLR microphones? I was looking at a Yeti for USB but I'm not sure if it's worth the price.

(Save for Lynx cards that drop on ebay for <$300 once in a blue moon)
So did you have any other suggestions for USB or XLR microphones? Is there any appreciable difference between Creative and Asus' low-end sound cards? Specifically the Xonar DG/DGX and the Audigy FX. Both seem to have driver issues but I'm confident I can handle whatever happens on that front. And before you tell me "it's not worth it over your motherboard audio," my integrated audio has bad signal leaking (shoutout to Realtek).
I have an Asus Xonar DX myself and other than driver issues like you've mentioned and it was an alright experience till I got an external DAC. The main problem was getting my computer to recognize it and Asus' driver website is mega archaic, but past that, it was smooth sailing and digital EQ knob turning for days. (Ton of EQ fluff options)
Do you guys think Sennheiser HD 650s could run on a Sennheiser GSX1000? I heard it's a pretty meh amp (up to 150 ohms and $229) but I do want to try the artificial 7.1 the GSX1000 comes with as I heard it's second to none, and I'm also in the market for new headphones and massdrop is about to do a second wave of Sennheiser HD6XXs, which are practically identical to 650s but $150 cheaper.
As someone who owns and mods the Hd650 and looking at the GSX1000 specs, I don't think that the GSX1000 will be able to run the Hd650's very well at higher volumes (GSX 1000 recommends headphones ranging from 16-150 Ohms, Hd650 is 300 Ohms) I mean sure you'll get the high volume, but the bass will probably sound pretty muddy. And unless you really want to try out Senn's virtual 7.1, I'd recommend just getting a solid dac/amp + software.
hmu if u tryna buy a pair of lcd-2s

Hey guys I need new in-ears. Had the Sennheiser CX 5.00Gs but lost them, but I was not very pleased with them when I had them (had to replace them, the quality wasn't too great) so either looking for higher quality in-ear Sennheisers if they exist or maybe just another brand. Budget nor looks isn't too important. I'll use them for when I'm longboarding, bicycling or just lounging around. I listen to most kinds of music: https://open.spotify.com/user/ottrfy/playlist/7A2C6GfLanD670lEzeFqo9
What about the CX 5.00G did you not like? Fit? too bright? not enough bass? And a budget is always helpful, unless you're budget is like mine. If you wanted to stay within the sennheiser lineage, I believe the next step up would be the momentum in-ear. But I haven't heard these personally so I can't really comment on how they sound/fit. Now if your budget is like mine, I'd recommend the Campfire Audio Orion, rugged as hell aluminum shell, replaceable cables. punctual, if not a little light in the bass, along with clear upper registers. And a wide, stupidly good layered sound stage (Wider than the AKG k1000's) Campfire Audio is actually having a B-stock sale if you were really interested. But they're super damn sensitive and you'll hear static out of almost any regular source. High sound isolation. Shout-out to the Radius NHR 21b as my old daily driver, big bass with a little wonky sizzle in treble, fit was fiddly at first, but I got used to it. Light isolation (japan import). Zero audio karbo tenores for their price and warm signature, but lack of strain relief, Meze 11's for their warm signature and solid design, and the Noble X/Savannah because I enjoy noble's house signature and the X in particular is semi-affordable (but plastic housing gets warm like gooey warm marshmallow in your ear... yuck).
Alright I totally forgot there are incredibly expensive earphones, my budget is somewhere around 100-200$ at most. I'm not too sure whether it was my Xperia Z2 and MacBook or not, but they had a lot of popping and crunchy sounds (but maybe that was cause they're IEM?) that made it awful to listen to. I liked them otherwise. Think I'll have a look at the Momentum ones though, thanks!
Good wireless headphones that'll work no problem with VR? Obviously can't interfere with the HTC vives bluetooth, so I need a confirmed working on windows 10 with no issues [editline]14th December 2016[/editline] that and screw anything that's over 70$ unless its that good
