I need some help finding a product. I'm looking for a microphone I saw a while back where you could plug it into the input on your headphones, and then the other side had a 3.5mm jack you could connect to your computer. The closest thing I found is this, but instead of having its own cable you could just use your own. Does anyone have on/know what I'm talking about?

Don't think this is possible?
Closest I can think of is the modmic

What like this thing? It's more of a calibration mic than for doing regular calls though.

That mic plugs into the headphone jack, not the headphones.
I guess it's entirely possible I just misremembered the features of it. I guess what I found will work for what I need. thanks for the input tho
TH-X00 Ebony's should be here Friday. heavy breathing
Shure SE215-K (agree), 1MORE E1001 (disagree), or RHA MA-750 (winner)?
Just looking for IEMs for work in the $100~ range coming from Fidelio X2/27.
So what is the difference between these pleather pads (~31 AUD) that KangarooSteak recommended at the end of 2015 and pleather pads off ebay """the one you are viewing use the same material with the original Audio-technica headphone""" for ~6 AUD?

RHA MA-750 retains the V-shaped fun sig that the Fidelio x2's have (Phatter bass thou). SE215 is a laxed, warmer downwards tilt and I haven't heard the 1more yet.

I'm loving my SE315's and from what I've heard the 215's aren't much worse.

I can't say much about the alternate pleather pads you've found, but the main reason why I enjoy brainwavz pads is because it's plush and snuggles your head in a soft pleather pillow. In relation to the m40x, It adds space between your ear and the driver, so you might lose a little bass and gain treble, but they're seriously stupid comfy.
if you decide not to get them, just stick with the same outer material as your original pads as much as you can. Using anything besides pleather with the M40x will drastically change the sound signature.

I see, went with the Brainwavz ones.

honestly tempted to buy all 3 and return the two i don't prefer
i'm definitely leaning towards the RHA MA-750s because of that bass (I enjoy tight bass, though I'm not a bass head, and I do prefer clarity in the upper ranges without being intolerable or tinny) though the 1more e1001 is new enough that most people have few opinions and i'm not sure if they're good or not

it just seems so fucking strange to me that the e1001's are by a chinese startup and go for sub $100 with an extravagant packaging yet have the same number of reviews (with greater proportion of those total reviews being 5 star) than either the Shure's or the RHA's and have been praised as having a better listening experience than iems at twice the price; they dont even have the brand recognition of bose or beats to justify their price and sound quality, only explanation i can find myself reaching is that the e1001s are actually really that good, at least if not factoring in potential longevity issues, but i'm hesitant to throw $100 at a pair of iems that aren't a guaranteed good product
settled on the 1more's just to try something new
oops thought that would automerge
Merge only works up to an hour later.
Got my Ebony's.

I can't talk about the sound yet because I'm still listening to the first song on these things, but the box was actually shit-tier. They come in a super plain Foxtex/Massdrop branded box, which is fine, but you open the box and they're basically held between some cardboard with bubblewrap around them and it's pretty "wtf" when opening it up.
Look at that fucking wood though. They're beautiful headphones. I wore them for about ten minutes before listening to music and they're pretty comfy. The pads are a'ight and I can see why people want to change them but I don't think I'm going to be doing that right away. They're good enough. I'm also pretty surprised at how nice the cable is. If you don't know Fostex, they basically have vacuum cleaner cables on all their high end headphones. It's still perfectly flexible and really light though.
I will say, after briefly swapping back and forth from these to my K7XX's, I finally understand what it means to have to drive a headphone. The TH-X00 is only 25 ohm impedance and I barely have the TH-X00's at 9 o'clock on my Magni 2 Uber and it's pumping good sound. I unplug them, plug in the K7XX's (hard 62 ohm impedance), and I need to crank that bitch to get the same kind of goodness out of the K7XX's. Super easy to drive the TH-X00.
I'm willing to spend 140 euro on wireless bluetooth headphones. Mostly I need them for the gym so my main requirements are that they have good bass, are not damaged easily and they fold up. I dont know if its standard with wireless headphones but it's necessary for me that they have the option of being wired. Any suggestions?
I found NOONTEC ZORO II's for ~140 but I cant decide if theyre worth the money.
If all else fails I'll just get another pair of Jam Transits
Twiddling around with the foam disks on the back of the hd650's driver has produced some interesting results. No back foam has a leaner sound. And the further you push the foam disk into the magnet hole, the less mids and more sub-bass you get. I've since found a happy medium, but pushing the foam disk in really deep has such a stupidly addicting amount of sub-bass for EDM [del]and electronic dance music it's great.[/del]

Good enough to be worth buying 650s over a more electronic focused sound?
Oh derp, I was up all night working on channel balance.. really tired.
I would say that the hd650 stock is decently good at edm but lacks the low-end extension and speed to make it comparable to say-- planar bass, but it's potential is utilized with minor modification and source chain synergy. My modded hd650 has the back driver massloaded with a sticky vinyl material to tighten bass by a substantial amount and the position of the back foam disk has been adjusted to control the amount of air the driver receives. What you're left with is low-end with near planar precision and slightly more energy in the upper treble. Pair that up with a fast amp like the schiit Jotun or comparable and you're left with an hd600 with that liquid hd650 midrange and exceptionally tight bass that's insanely good at a wide range of music, especially edm.
Can anyone recommend me some good earbuds below 100 euros?
I mostly listen to electronic music.

The VE Coffee/Espresso is a cosmetic variation of the VE Candy that I have and enjoy when I don't need super mega isolation from my IEM's (Also infinitely easier to share earbuds than IEM's). You're not going to get any thicc bass because of obvious reasons. (rolls off around 120Hz, struggles below 60Hz) But they're cheap and stylish with a slightly elevated mid-treble that doesn't get harsh.
VE Coffee is regular straight cable and the VE Espresso has the nicer braided cable with all sorts of termination options. My delivery took about a week using EMS.

Comments foam tips, silicone hurt my left ear canal
You'd be hard pressed finding any cheap iem that comes with foam tips, so you'll probably have to purchase them separately. I personally get most of my spare tips visiting trade shows and they give them away for free. I recommend comply foam tips.
Anyway, these are a bit of a stretch since I haven't heard them personally (I would if I could, in due time), but I do hear good things about them. You should look up the Fostex te-02n, zero audio carbo tenores or the ostry kc06. The ostry and carbo tenores might lean closer to your preferred signature based on your current headphone collection, but I'd look up some reviews from all three and pick the one you like. The three all revolve around a neutral-mid centric tone with lively treble, with the ostry being the brightest and the zero being the most mellow. The fostex probably sits somewhere in the middle.
i ordered a pair of Brainwavz Delta, i thought about the akg y20 but they cost more and no foam tips
Hey, the deltas are one of the iems that I actually own, though it's been a while since I listened to them. A little tubby sounding but they're alright for the price.
I was looking to get a buddy a new mic, something that clips on to his shirt or his headset. I'm just lost on what I should go for. My budget is around $50. Preferably something I can ship online to him as well, since he's in a different state. Any help would be much appreciated.
