So against the OP's advice, I purchased a wireless gaming headset recently. Both sides emit a constant hum and intermittent static when plugged in and the volume knob on the headset is turned up (computer volume seems to make no difference). When I fuck around with the USB plug the hum changes intensity as the plug wiggles. Pulling it out slightly lowers the hum's volume. Is the particular unit I got defective or is this a common thing with wireless headsets? I hadn't seen it mentioned in any of the reviews I'd read prior to purchase, so I assume the issue isn't intrinsic to the specific model that I bought. I'd like not ship it back if I'd be better off just gluing some sort of spacer onto the body of the USB stick.
It's this if it matters.
I've had that problem with computer headsets. It is interference or some shit. A USB extension cable may fix the problem, maybe?

sounds like noise interfering with the usb plug - try a different port
but seriously why would you buy wireless headphones, why would you buy a headset, why would you buy 'gaming' peripherals, why would you buy a gaudy as shit thing like that and finally why would you buy a gaudy as shit wireless gaming headset
it looks really terribly built, it's probably just shitty construction and noise isolation that's causing that hum

Some people don't know better.
Some people don't care.
Some people just want some sound and a mic together, and a headset provides that.
Edit: Why the disagree? I've talked with all of those people before.
hell
i'd probably buy that headset along with a good one just because of the lightning
Well. My M-50s just came.
Jesus Christ.

god sony xb500s are so good for their price
Does anyone have these?

And if so are they any good?
All of Denon's new stuff are poor for the money, Denon can never make good headphones by themselves
My dad has them and he swears they are the best thing ever.. I just want something that's better and cheaper (looking at the ATH-M50)
Shure 940, Dt-880, Maddogs and AD900s should all be better

??!??!!?!??!?!???????
I'm looking for a solution to my current IEM conundrum. I have Sennheiser CX485s. Pretty happy with them but now a wired solution is not cutting it for my limited use of headphones. So yes right off the bat I am asking for a wireless IEM solution, but I am not asking for an audiophile solution.
I have a few requirements that I think are attainable, but I could be wrong:
~$70 budget.
Bluetooth wireless, the more reliable the better.
8-10 hours of battery life.
Decent sound - no muddy bass, no horridly distorted treble.
Music controls on the unit preferred as I just bought a Note 2 and it'll be hella impractical to take out on the train.
Does anything like this exist? And as a bonus, how can I get it to work with a desktop computer? My work PC is not within range of average headphone length.

dont get the hd201s lol
worst cans ever
I got a pair of the HTF600s and I don't like the stock pleather ear muffs. I've read you can buy replacements online though.

Otherwise, they're pretty good for the money.
Budget: £150 (can go over)
Country: UK/Estonia
Isolation: Any, in-ears preferred

Comments: Preferably in-ears, discreet and stylish over-ears that don't look like cheapo plastic are OK too. I like bass.
I recommend the Sennheiser hd 25 ii .
Good bass and good isolation, treble and clean sounding and crisp plus probability use and easy to drive.
A popular pick for djs and people who work in the tv industry.
So, I just bought some Bose QC-15's.

Fucking Awesome.
That is all.

Apparently these are recommended for replacement ear pads on the Panasonic's.

My microphone for my shitty SoundBlaster Alpha broke, so I'm thinking of buying new ones in the same price class (50-70 euros).
Any recommendations?
Dunno about the microphone but..
I am enjoying these akg 550 they sound great and it is one of those cans that are closed cans that sound open and has good isolation and Good sound, enough bass for me and i must say when the song calls for it they do shake on your head also it just has this lean, deep, full, spacious sound that is clean and clear and smooth.
Sometimes with the way it sounds it makes me jump sometimes like being spooked, no other can of mine has done that before (dt 48, dt 150, dr 770, dt 880, dt 990, k 701, q 701, k240 mk2, k242, hd 555, hd 650, t50rp, ath m 50, hd 25 ii, hfi 580, pro 900, ultrasone proline 2500).
I'd rather deal with the bad padding on the HTF-600 over getting a new set for more than I got the headphones for themselves
Is it bad that my headphones can hear data transferring on the front USB ports on my computer? When I had a USB WiFi card connected to the front of my computer I could hear when it would be loading a website or downloading a file or something. Also I can hear when my tablet is being charged because the headphones have a slight hum to them.
I am planning on getting some JVC HARX700s relatively soon anyway.

I'd agree with you but these things don't breathe for shit. It's not even hot and they make my ears sweat.
Budget: 12,000 ISK (about 100$)
Isolation: In-ears
Purpose: I need something to take with me on a flight to Norway, and to the gym when I get there.
Music Tastes: All sorts of metal, Daft Punk, post-punk, Depeche Mode, stoner rock, progressive rock...
Previous Experiences: I currently own a pair of Sennheiser HD 439's, and I'm quite happy with them, but I've heard that in-ears are the way to go when it comes to travel, and especially travel by air.
Comments: Yeah, basically, I need something that works well high in the sky and is reliable enough to be used while working or in the gym.
I've heard about the Sennheiser CX300-II but Í'm wondering if there's something else out there.
I'm no "professional" when it comes to headphones, in ears and stuff like that, but I've heard a lot of good stuff for Bose's noise cancelling headphones.

Thought I'd throw this here. Not really your price range or what you prefer, I'm sorry, but these are worth a look.
