Cancelled the HE4XXes and ordered the K7XXes instead, people talking about Hifiman and Massdrop fucking up first runs of their custom stuff spooked me too much to risk. International returns would not be fun. Does mean planars will have to wait but the expected shipdate is 3 months earlier which is nice.

Surely that could just distract people?
Do you use your headphones after showering, without drying off? Water can get into the driver and shit it up. How tangled up are your cables? Maybe they're breaking or maybe your audio port is fucky.
I've never used my headphones right-after showering, and my audio ports aren't the problem only thing I can think of is the cables getting fucked, I had to use the v2's extension cable and I'm guilty of running over the wires a few times honestly though, I need these new headphones ASAP i'm using apple headphones and they're hurting my ears so baaad
Grado fits the bill for an open on-ear, though I don't have any experience with any of the series.
Do you know what models specifically? I'm having trouble searching for them.
I'm curious why a company would pay for open headphones. Surely that could just distract people?
in my experience even with open ones you have to be blasting music pretty damn loud to distract people, plus the headphones are to stop yourself getting distracted by the conversations going on in the office - the base level of noise is actually reasonably high (hopefully not for long as we move into a bigger place) [editline]13th August 2017[/editline] what are wireless headphones like nowadays? interested for use at the gym and while on public transport etc, so in-ear I guess
pretty damn good actually. i'm using a pair of advanced model 3s right now and the sound quality is wonderful. really the only complaint i have is that the 5 hour battery life, but it charges from empty to full in an hour 30
Do you know what models specifically? I'm having trouble searching for them.
The entry level ones are the grado sr60e and sr80e which should have the same driver. Then it jumps up to the sr125e.
also comes with a 3 year warranty, which was a huge deciding factor for me.

With the 1.35m cable on mine I run it down my shirt leaving a small loop to stop it tugging when turning my head and it only leaves 20-30cm coming out the bottom of my shirt, which could be tucked into the pocket with the phone. Could be an alternative to bluetooth, avoids issue of battery life and bluetooth still isn't lossless despite having over 10x the bandwidth (~35x for bt 5) required for red book playback but whatever.
what are wireless headphones like nowadays? interested for use at the gym and while on public transport etc, so in-ear I guess
If you have an Ldac supported Sony device like a new sony Walkman, you can transmit lossless Redbook content over WiFi using the Sony MUC-M2BT connected to your favorite iems or something similar.
The left driver to my hd650's swelled and broke last night. Whelp, time for Plan B until I get some replacement parts shipped. Good news is that Plan B (Oppo Pm-2's) sound fantastic with this new tube preamp (Schiit Saga) as it removes a lot of glare and mid-treble harshness I had with the Jotunheim alone, while adding a level of depth that these cans were begging for. Fit is still funny, these cups are so small.

I recently got some hd600s and was looking at amps like the schiit magni but those are quite expensive

I recently got some hd600s and was looking at amps like the schiit magni but those are quite expensive
My current audio chain is schiit eitr > bifrost multibit > saga > jotunhiem > hd650 / oppo pm2. I used to have a bunch of non-schiit stuff, but they didn't have the same synergy as what I have now and I've since sold most of it off.
Do you really gain anything with an eitr when you have a bifrost multi? They're both gen5
My bifrost's an older unit and still has gen2 USB. I've opted to getting the eitr over the gen5 overhaul incase I get a sweet deal on an older gungnir multibit w/ gen2 or the kitsune holo spring lv1.
I've been looking at the Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum to replace my headset that just recently broke. The wired version is $90 USD and the wireless+wired version is $130. Does anyone have experience with the wireless+wired version or should I just get the wired one? I'm just concerned if the wireless+wired version has a good connection and quality when using the 2.4GHz USB dongle.
What is a good setup I can get instead of buying a HyperX Cloud Stinger? I want a cheap setup (my budget is the HyperX Stinger headset price) with good audio and microphone, for gaming.
i've been using a cheap $10 set of headphones for the past like, 6 years and it's on its last legs it seems like, so i'm looking for an upgrade i'm not much of an audiophile, so i'm not exactly looking for something very expensive. i know the OP recommended the Panasonics, but i'm looking for something open-back because i've heard it reduces ear fatigue. idk, i might as well list out what i'm looking for: -cheap, like sub $40. the lower, the better. $30 or so is the sweet spot if there's anything even half-decent for that price. amazon prime and/or just plain free shipping preferred. -i get some sort of hearing fatigue sometimes, and i would prefer open-back if those really do help with that. it's for use in a private and fairly quite space so other people hearing my music is not a problem and vice-versa. i found some on amazon and i'm curious of your opinions on them https://www.amazon.com/Koss-UR40-Collapsible-Over-Ear-Headphones/dp/B00006JILE/ref=sr_1_8?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1503381014&sr=1-8&refinements=p_n_feature_three_browse-bin%3A12097497011 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003JOETX8/ref=psdc_12097479011_t2_B00006JILE https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=pd_cp_23_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B002LBSEQS&pd_rd_r=2AQEC1EG9R034VRMSEZR&pd_rd_w=mdY1Z&pd_rd_wg=KVy5r&psc=1&refRID=2AQEC1EG9R034VRMSEZR which one of these is the best? or do any of you know of something even better? i find myself partial to the first due to the price and because it's straight open-back and not some weird semi-open shit
i find myself partial to the first due to the price and because it's straight open-back and not some weird semi-open shit

Hybrid Design Combines The Best Of Closed-Style and Open-Style Headphones
Hmmm.... The Superlux are probably the best out of those 3 soundwise - they're pretty good for the price, and "proper" open-back headphones are kinda rare at that price.
Just picked up some Apple Airpods... they sound acceptable, pairs easily with my phone/tablet, and convenient as hell with the charging case. They stay in when I'm at the gym and seems to do fine with sweat. Only issue is price and questionable mic quality (recording a voice memo on these vs the phone is a pretty noticeable difference). Anyone else use these?
Just picked up a pair of HE-400S + Focus-A Pads. Pretty nice for £250 combined, sounds pretty good straight out of my phone but there's a noticeable improvement with DAC/AMP too. [editline]24th August 2017[/editline] Plus these are like the most comfortable shit ever, although that comes at the cost of looks I guess. Doesn't matter if I'm using them at my desk.
Can anyone recommend any good in ears? Looking for a pair since lost my Samsung ones
Can anyone recommend any good in ears? Looking for a pair since lost my Samsung ones
Budget / music taste?
Budget / music taste?
I'm think 50-70. Alot of indie music, rap, electronic. I listen to most music honestly
I'm think 50-70. Alot of indie music, rap, electronic. I listen to most music honestly
I'm looking for a more netural sound picture since I don't have a specific genre

K7XXes are pretty nice. Just a shame the ear cups are so shallow, I'm certainly no universally hated politician but my ears still touch the foam on the drivers. I do suspect they will be even better when I get around to buying my Schiit Smear and it's no longer running off delta-sigma and USB power. Still need to max volume and turn on high gain to watch movies which is annoying.
Budget: $350? eBay: Sure Country: Australia Isolation: Open/Semi-Open preferred but can do with closed Purpose: Gaming, music, YouTube/Netflix, all purpose I guess Previous Experiences: Sennheisers, a few others For usage on the PC, so looks and stuff aren't too important, would rather go for comfort.
