Budget: $350? eBay: Sure Country: Australia Isolation: Open/Semi-Open preferred but can do with closed Purpose: Gaming, music, YouTube/Netflix, all purpose I guess Previous Experiences: Sennheisers, a few others For usage on the PC, so looks and stuff aren't too important, would rather go for comfort.
Do you have an existing DAC/Amp? If so, I imagine you'd be able to pick up a HD600 / maaaybe HD650 within that budget. There's probably better choices if you don't, although I'm not too sure on them so I'll leave that to others to answer.
I do the l have an amp, no DAC though
If you can fit it in the budget or want to upgrade later, the Modi 2 is basically the best budget DAC there is. [t]https://www.helifreak.club/image/20170904092000665.png[/t] Shipping is cancer though.
Question for anyone who's tried them, which of the following combos (or mix and match?) would you pick? * Modi 2 + Vali 2 * ODAC + O2 * EL DAC + EL AMP Looking for separates for future upgradeability, primarily for use with HE400S + HD650.

DAC is a hard call due to Grace's sneak peak at the new $80 Sdac. I've heard that the new akm 4552 DAC it's using has a more velvety tone than the modi 2 and will become it's direct competitor. Whereas the odac is decently good, but can sound slightly digital in complicated passages.

Plus I can play around with tubes :v: DAC-wise I'm not so sure - I like to avoid Massdrop if I can, and would rather buy it now than wait 6 months. Vali + EL DAC sounds good but I can't find the EL for sale in the UK :(
Budget: ~$100 preferably, if there's some that fit my needs that cost more feel free to mention them eBay: Sure Country: USA Isolation: Any Purpose: Gaming/videos Previous Experiences: Sennheisers, most have been pretty nice The main thing I'm looking for is durability. I guess I'm pretty rough with my headphones because they keep breaking. I don't need amazing quality, just decent. I'd prefer circumaural, my ears are delicate. If there are headphones with a replaceable cable that would be nice because those break pretty often for me.

Budget: I'll take a look at anything sub-$150, but obviously the lower the better. eBay: No Country: United States Isolation: Closed Purpose: Competitive games and music with a lot of bass. Like, my headphones right now vibrate my ears when a long bass drop hits, and I'd really like to retain that. Previous Experiences: The only notable pair of headphones I've ever used are my current Logitech G430s. They're the best headphones I've ever had audio and comfort-wise, but they're straight-up slowly dying and the microphone on the side is nothing but a hindrance at this point, as I have a nice little desktop microphone I use now. I spent some good time trying to look around the internet for something in these specifications but I mean if I go to Amazon and specify "over-ear" they give me fucking earbuds in the search results so I just kinda gave up and came here :v:

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll probably end up picking one of these up.
Budget: $50-150 Country:US Isolation: Closed Purpose:Games, Media Editing Music Tastes: Everything Previous Experiences: G930/G35 Comments:Need to replace my G35. Probably going to pick up a separate microphone on this go around.
Are there any lightning earbuds that compete in quality with EarPods for less than $50?
Question: So I'm pretty happy with my many year old Vmoda crossfade LP's, but they're definitely on the dead end of their life. They've got a few cracks and chips, the leather is separating in many areas, and the headband doesn't click when it adjusts anymore, it sorta just free slides but had enough friction to hold where I slide it. they're amazing headphones still, and while the damage is largely cosmetic, I really would just love a new pair. The question is, are the M100's really worth the $250 price vs the LP2's? Anyone own a pair of M100's who can share how they feel about them?

DAC/Amp arrived today! Went with Modi 2 Multibit + Vali 2 in the end. Tube looks super-cool in the dark and they sound awesome so I'm well happy with those. Also picking up a pair of barely used HD650's tomorrow from a local guy who literally only used them for a review, only £150 thanks to being in a rural area + collection only. Was about to buy some full price, so that's nice. Think I'm gonna be listening to music 24/7 for the next week haha.

I'm not sure how it works in the uk, but it wouldn't hurt if you asked for the price difference from your supplier if you got it through official channels. Jason Stoddard: "3. Lowered the price for Vali 2 to $149, reflecting new production efficiencies and making it an even better bargain. Again, contact orders@schiit.com if you got one from us in the last 30 days, and we'll take care of you." Bose cq 35 or sony mdr 1000x?
Pretty much locked in the Schiit upgrade for when next pay comes in on the 13th. Opting for Bimby for the gen 5 USB, just not sure whether to get Magni 3 or splurge a bit for an Asgard 2. On the fence about it, for some reason FedEx International Economy isn't an option for Bimby + Asgard and I have to pay the extra for priority resulting in shipping being double the price of Bimby + Magni. It's a while out and it could change I guess. Likely move my current FiiO DAC/Amp combo to work so the headphone jack isn't so inconveniently placed when I get sent meme songs over Skype for Business, it's ample for IEMs. [t]https://cdn.head-fi.org/a/3728926.jpg[/t] And also because this looks far too silly. [editline]24th September 2017[/editline] Also inconvenient to do two orders to get around the $1000 threshold on import because fuck paying $190 of tax on that schiit.

The only reason to get the Asgard 2 now is if you're absolutely dying for a class A headamp. Otherwise the magni 3 succeeds it. (It's a mini-jot at this point)
My pair of Apple EarPods recently broke and I'm looking for similar non-bud ones. Was going to re-buy the Apple ones but I was wondering if I could get anything better for my £30.
Bumping, never got a response
You can go with a used dt770 80ohm or an AT m40x. Comfort is better on the 770's, but with a hotter treble. The m40x would be more tailored for editing/mastering, the 770 for fun and gaming.
Looking for a white overear headset that has 7.1 surround sound for gaming purposes (it doesnt need to have a mic) Price range: 100$ - nothing above 200$ currently looking at this is it good?
Doesn't answer your question, sorry, but -Don't buy a gaming headset -Don't buy anything 7.1 that isn't speakers
im not looking for a "gaming headset" perse i just want a decent sounding headset with white theme that has "7.1" surround. Also there is a significant difference when playing on 7.1 and just stereo headsets on games where spacial awareness is needed like CS:GO i have a plantronics gamecom 780 atm which is on the verge of breaking. So i tried to use my seinheiser in ears and the sound feels too 2d i cant distinguish where the sounds are coming from that well.
