Im looking for some headphones for gaming and music, I like powerfull base and really clear audio, I already have a $80 Condenser microphone. Recommendations? Also, is it worth getting a sound card? My motherboard already has 5.1 HD audio. How is this dumb?
I'm no "professional" when it comes to headphones, in ears and stuff like that, but I've heard a lot of good stuff for Bose's noise cancelling headphones. http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/headphones/noise_cancelling_headphones/index.jsp Thought I'd throw this here. Not really your price range or what you prefer, I'm sorry, but these are worth a look.
Those have probably the best noise cancellation in for consumer headphones, but they don't sound that great.
Anyone else have Ultrasone HFI-580's? I've had them for over a year, made 3 people buy them as well. Unbelievable bass and overall quality.
Those have probably the best noise cancellation in for consumer headphones, but they don't sound that great.
Oh. Thanks for clearing that up, though. Any recommendations for good noise cancelling headphones which also sound fair enough?
I dunno that I wanna buy another pair of HTF-600s. My last pair broke within 6 months and I was pretty disappointed. It was the same issue several others have posted about, where one of the speakers breaks off because of cheap plastic or something. Wire's still attached, though, so they theoretically still work, they just won't sit on my head. Barring a different set of headphones, is there a preventative measure to ensure another pair of HTF-600s wouldn't break like that? I'm not fond of the "wait till it breaks, then duct tap it to hell" strategy a few others have employed.

I know people who buy more expensive skull candies for their iPods. :v:
headphones hooked over monitor when not in use master race [editline]23rd May 2013[/editline] I managed to preserve a pair of turtle beaches for 3 years doing that, I'm really good with headphones earphones not so much, they break way too often

Man that's pretty cool, but why so many headsets?
Man that's pretty cool, but why do many headsets?
Most likely his old headsets.
Are sennheiser pc360 g4me any good? few years old but they still look really good for £140~ or am i better off going for a pair of headphones and a seperate mic for a similar price?
or am i better off going for a pair of headphones and a seperate mic for a similar price?
Yes, always. Sennheiser's gaming headsets are on the better side of headsets, but it's always worth buying seperate unless you have a ridiculously good deal on something.
What is like a cheap pair of ear buds for use when jogging or at the gym. I am not entirely against the in-ear kind but I haven't liked them in the past when sweaty. These will only be for use when running or whatever so they don't have to be that great but I do want the best of the cheapest. The budget doesn't have to be extremely low but I'd want a balance between durability and quality with a low price while being something that if I break somehow I won't feel bad about. The cheaper the better honestly but like I said I'd rather have something that satisfies those aspects and is a decent quality.
Are there any popular and decent external mics you guys recommend? Clip on prefered.
Man that's pretty cool, but why do many headsets?
They've been demoted! Most of them have been purchased on sale and I like to try them out just to get a feel for the quality, slowly they got pushed out to the wall and now I only hand them out to my friends whenever I decide to host a LAN party.
Budget: €100/$150 Country: Sweden Isolation: Closed and quite well isolated Purpose: Going to uni this fall, wanna be able to listen to music anywhere anytime without being heard or disturbing anyone (quite self conscious about these things, unlike some people). Comments: I have no qualms with over ear headphones in public so long as they're reasonably discrete, some AKG's would probably be a bit too much for my taste. Might consider in ear. Previous experiences are only the sennheiser HD 558. Ebay is fine if the seller ships internationally, amazon is fine too. Will probably almost always use them amped. Even considering designing myself an SMD version of the O2 amp that runs on a lithium ion battery. Not expecting stellar performance but most of the design work is done already, just gotta lay out a PCB and pick some compatible SMD components.
I posted this several weeks ago and never got a reply.
Budget:£150-160 Country:Scotland Isolation: Not sure ~ I have only used closed headphones before Purpose: Gaming / watching movies Previous Experiences: Steelseries siberia v2 / corsair vengeance 1500 Comments: I am wearing headphones for a huge part of the day and found that my previous headphones have become quite uncomfortable after a few hours. I was hoping to look for a pair that are light but I also dont want the sound to overflow into the microphone. If I am to get a pair of headphones I will also need a mic. Im not really sure what standalone microphones are good so if possible a recommendation here would be really helpful! thanks!
route your wire cleanly and use a headphone stand, if you weren't a fan of HTF-600 don't get another pair
The only thing I didn't like about the HTF-600s was the the fact that they broke. Other than that, I was happy with the price, the fit, and the sound, I just don't want another pair breaking on me anytime soon.
