How's the sound quality on those cat ear headphones?
I don't know what headphones you're talking about but cat ears means they're going to be terrible.
Got TDK EB800 from some random corner shop for just $4 today. Has surprisingly clear and powerful sound for something that costs that little. Truly sounds like something that you'd pay $100 for, bizarre.
Unless they were stolen, I have severe doubts :v:
What? You don't believe me? Maybe they are knock-offs but they are damn good, and I have sampled a lot of audio gear before so I know what I'm talking about.

Either those headphones are being sold at minimum 1/5 their actual cost or you've only ever heard shit-tier $100 headphones.
How's the sound quality on those cat ear headphones?
Sounds like an AT AD500x with less bass, so slightly less than decent and build quality looks something to be desired. Can't say I didn't want one as a gag gift in the past. And they go for less than $40 in some places now.

I was looking at those Kickstarter one they sold at Sears as a gift for the GF but they're pretty expensive and doesnt sound like there worth the money. Thank you. Is this the place to talk about Bluetooth speakers? If so what's the best one you guys recommend? I was thinking of picking up the UE BOOM 2

If you're looking for some high-end personal entertainment, Campfire audio held their B-stock sale last year and I expect them to do something similar this black friday. Almost 40% off some items. And where I got my CA Orion for $100 off. Kinda regret not getting the Andromeda when I had the chance since it was almost $400 off as well, but we might get lucky this year.
Are there any better alternatives for starter (podcasting and game chat) mics than the Blue Snowball around the same price point? Also, would it be okay to discuss a "bedroom theater" 3.1 audio setup for the TV that's right next to my desk?

As far as bedroom theater, if you want something decently sized with 4" woofers, the Micca Mb42x passive monitors are great, and you can find used receivers and amps from 2nd hand shops for under $15 easily. Throw in the Mb42x-C and a dayton sub-1000 and you have a complete 3.1 package.
My boss is looking for an on-or-over ear headset that uses a 3.5mm combo jack for his new laptop, and he's looking for cheap. Can anyone advise me on something? [editline]27th October 2017[/editline] And he wants a "small" one.
Do wireless headphones like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-4-50-Headphones-Cancellation/dp/B01MSZSL4I/ref=as_li_ss_tl?tag=austevan-20&ie=UTF8&qid=1509167177&sr=8-1&keywords=sennheiser+hd+450&linkCode=ll1&linkId=2dd6d47b7377dc301700d735c3a29f09 Which have an option of plugging in a 3.5mm cable have the same audio quality as a regular wired headphone?

hello knowledgeable headphone people please help. Budget: $200 AUD eBay: No Country: Australia Isolation: Yes Purpose: Music, gaming, general media Music Tastes: electronica, psychedelic rock, indie rock Previous Experiences: shitty usb headsets Comments: Just looking for something sturdy that sounds decent. Not needing an amp would be preferable but I'm up for being convinced either way if there is a full set up I can get that fits my budget. Also, what microphone should I go for. I was looking at the clip on Zalman because it's so cheap and seems good enough for gaming, but one with a mute button of some kind would be wonderful.

[editline]30th October 2017[/editline] Grab your self a decent pair of open-back, musical headphones + a clip-on or desk mic and have triple the quality. [editline]30th October 2017[/editline] Sennheiser 598 SR + Modmic for similar cost. Plus they'll sound great for music compared to a headset, and the better soundstage helps with locating sound direction.

The main downside (at least on mine, older model) is that the mute switch is the most ghetto shit, just a switch that breaks the line in. Or you can make your own modmic out of the Zalman clip-on, a cable tie and some gaffer tape.
I'm sorry, but Beats by Dre headphones are downright terrible for the price. The bass overpowers the mids and highs Sound quality overall isn't that great They cost $350. $450 for the pros. $550 for the pro special which literally just changes the color and ads a logo to the headband. I would recommend mounting the mic on a cheap boom stand to stop it picking up typing vibrations though something like this ought to do the trick https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Tripod-Boom-Microphone-Stand/dp/B019NY2PKG/ [editline]1st November 2017[/editline]
I'm sorry, but Beats by Dre headphones are downright terrible for the price. Shocking news folks, the power switch for the Schiil Sol isn't on the back.
Is there any hardware I can put in between my computer and my headset (4 pole 3.5mm, or can be split into headphones and mic 3.5mm) to introduce instant mic monitoring? I used to have a pair of turtlebeaches and they were crap in every department but they had mic monitoring, and now I've swapped to a pair of headphones that are more closed without mic monitoring so I feel like I'm straining every time I speak on discord and end up speaking much louder than I need to.

And the Sennheiser 6XXs are shipping a month and a half ahead of schedule.

Is there a common cause for a muffled bass in the right side of a pair of DT770s? Google shows up hair being stuck in the driver and for the life of me I cant take it apart since the white filter inside of it seems fused to the housing [editline]7th November 2017[/editline] sorry if its offtopic didnt want to make a new thread for this silly issue

It could be the driver or it could be cable.
I did do a 180hz test and bang the side of them and it helped temporarily, so its probably a weak connection inside the driver? that was an actual solution for that issue on some forum lol
Bought a NW-700 with the phantom power included, but you can barely hear it. Cranking the boost in Windows just adds hissing/noise. Ideas?
