What are some good IEM's for ~$50 Price is flexible. [editline]8th June 2013[/editline] http://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-BWAVZ-M2-M2-In-Ear-Headphones/dp/B004IK1VBA Any good?
http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Ultimate-Ears-Noise-Isolating-Earphones/dp/B003YKG2XC/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1370648661&sr=1-1&keywords=ue+600 I have these. They are pretty decent. Legendary Logitech customer support too.
What if I were to go up to $100 what would my options be?
What if I were to go up to $100 what would my options be?
RE-400 if shipping isn't too high.
WoO! Got my ATH-M50's about 30 minutes ago. Hearing loss here I come! Edit: Holy shit. Just had a moment where I was listening to an Adele song and I could hear the impact of someones fingers on the piano's keys.
Also, any opinions on the Sennheiser Momentum's? I already have the 598's [t]http://en-us.sennheiser.com/images/715/all/square/3051/square_louped_hd_598_01_sq_sennheiser.png[/t] but I am doing a bit of travelling and want something that won't bother other passengers but still sounds amazing (and looks nice because I'm a sucker for good design). i found it for 300 aud which is pretty dang good so I was wondering if you dudes had any input on the matter [editline]9th June 2013[/editline] also comfort is a huge factor. generally i've found that all sennheiser's are very comfortable especially compared to other brands like sony which squeeze my head and ears and feel awful. i am hoping that the smaller cans don't feel horrible but i have no real way of knowing until i wear them. that is one thing i like about the 598's, that they don't even touch my ear, just the area around it. [editline]9th June 2013[/editline] i appreciate any fast replies because id have to buy it asap if i want it to arrive before i leave tyvm
The momentum's sound great (warm sound, like the 598s) but some with large ears have comfort issues, but they are a good choice right now.
i don't even have big ears, it's weird. i can always resell them on ebay if they're uncomfortable [editline]9th June 2013[/editline] (maybe if any of you would want them for a little under 300 ;) ) but yeah i think i'll order them
Budget: $120 eBay: No Country: United States Isolation: Not much preference, as long as the sound doesn't leak out a ton Purpose: Music, Games Music Tastes: Electronic, Techno Previous Experiences: Awful gaming headsets Comments: Circumaural, and preferably something with bass but nothing too overwhelming. I'd prefer that it's comfy, since I tend to wear them for hours upon hours. Lastly, something with a sturdy cord. Too many of my previous headphones have fallen victim of bad wiring.

they are both so beautiful (but the 598's are a million times more comfortable. gotta break in the momentum's somehow though)
Not sure if this is the thread, but: What is a good EQ for Corsair Vengeance 2000? I hate those sharp sounds you get when you are having around 50% sound level or higher (I'm not very good with sound/audio as you may have guessed :p ) Thanks :)
Budget: <£60 eBay: Preferably not. Country: UK Isolation: ? Purpose: Games, music and VoIP Music Tastes: Rock and older pop mostly Previous Experiences: Shitty 'gamer' headsets, £5 Tesco headset that was actually pretty good until I stood on it. Comments: I need something the mic I'm buying (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zalman-ZM-MIC1-microphone/dp/B00029MTMQ) isn't going to pick up, sounds fairly good, but mostly it needs to be comfortable.
snip, alternative
M50's arrived!
I've been using Gamescon Platronics: For about a year and half now, but after about 6 months I dropped them and they snapped. I sticky taped them back together and thats lasted for a year, but the sound is starting to drop out on that side. Occasionally when talking to friends on skype they will say I've gone really quiet and I'll have to fiddle with the mic abit to get it to be normal (I broke that side of them). I definitely got my $40 out of them though. I need to get something new, for both gaming and listening to music (mostly gaming) and I'm willing to spend up to $150 or so on something that will last and isn't made out of shitty plastic, preferably over the ear like I have now. A microphone is a must too. The OP hasn't been updated since 2011 but what can you guys recommend? I'm Australian so I will probably have to pay the Australia Tax companies put on everything, but I'm willing to spend around $150 although I'd prefer to spend around $100 unless I could get something thats a lot more stu

Why a clip on mic? [editline]16th June 2013[/editline] also http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/Headphones-Microphones-/161551/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=M50 [editline]16th June 2013[/editline] Can literally not find them in an Aussie store
Addicted to Audio in Melbourne has them for $150 with free express shipping. or you can get them from Amazon around $120ish but have to wait ages for standard shipping.
Addicted to Audio in Melbourne has them for $150 with free express shipping. or you can get them from Amazon around $120ish but have to wait ages for standard shipping.
Sweet. But why do I need to get headphones without a mic? It's not like I'm casting games or something? 1 thing I'm worried about is the swivels. They look flimsy, how sturdy are the headphones. And if i got those, where do I get a microphone? I was also looking at these http://en-de.sennheiser.com/gaming-headset-stereo-pc-320 and i can get them for 108 from Eb Games, which I found out in 2 mins without effort, so I could probably find them somewhere else much cheaper. They any good?

[editline]17th June 2013[/editline] http://www.xoxide.com/zmmic1.html Can get it cheaper from here but international shipping [editline]17th June 2013[/editline] How do those things go with picking up voice clearly and accurately and what about background noise? Can anyone upload an example? [editline]17th June 2013[/editline] http://www.umart.com.au/pro/products_listnew.phtml?id=10&id2=147&bid=5&sid=47712 Could even get it for $8 from around the corner too, but still, should I be getting this?
That's going to be the highest quality setup you'll get for your money. Alternatively there is the Antlion Modmic which can be attached to the M50's, but they're a bit harder to get.
awesome I've been looking at that Zalman mic and a lot of people say the clip is massive and you can't use it. Is that right or? [editline]17th June 2013[/editline] Apparently more comfy too
Sweet. But why do I need to get headphones without a mic? It's not like I'm casting games or something?
because most headsets are utter shit and the ones that aren't are heinously overpriced
awesome I've been looking at that Zalman mic and a lot of people say the clip is massive and you can't use it. Is that right or?
How the heck is it massive? It's approximately the same size as the nail on my thumb. I thought the mic quality was shit at first, including extremely quiet, but nobody really complains about the quality. There are a few issues with the sound being quiet from time to time, but nothing major. Not complaining since it was so cheap.
like you need a really thick cable or something
like you need a really thick cable or something
Oh, that. Yeah, you do need a somewhat thick cable if you want to use the "clip on" part.
Oh, that. Yeah, you do need a somewhat thick cable if you want to use the "clip on" part.
How else would you use it?
How else would you use it?
Zip ties, tape, something else that can make it stick. Perhaps curl(wrong word for it, but you get the meaning) the cable so it gets thicker?
I suppose I could bum out and fill it with blutac if it doesn't fit. Those modmics are cool though, if only they didn't cost so much
