Hey guys, you know the modded headphones DT does, what's the best EQ settings? Sometimes I feel the audio gets muffled the more instruments that are playing. Sounds perfect if it's just the voice and one instrument in the background, then kinda gets muffled when it gets hectic. [editline]4th July 2013[/editline] I still think I may need an amp. Xonar DX doesn't have anything to help with headphones, it's more for 5.1
The Fostex TR20/50P? You will indeed want an amp to get the best out of them.
If you hurry, you could get a Fiio E17 off Massdrop for $95, or an E09K for $90.
Just bought some ATH-M50's in red

I bought my Grandmother a laptop last year and she doesn't like using the speakers anymore and has asked for some nice headphones. I have been out of the game for a while, and I don't know what the market is like right now. Budget: $80 - $150 eBay: Not this time Country: USA Isolation: Closed Purpose: General Computing Music Tastes: Anything from the 1920's - 1960's Previous Experiences: She doesn't have any Comments: Needs to be very comfortable and have some sound isolation.

If they aren't comfortable enough, grab some Shure 840 pads.
ATH-M50s. If they aren't comfortable enough, grab some Shure 840 pads.
I know that ATH-M50s are better with an amp. I'd rather not have to purchase one.
M50's don't really NEED to be amped.
It's for his grandmother. Don't get M50s, just get something that looks really comfortable and light. Maybe Aurvana Live?
I previously owned Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pros. They're pretty good headphones for their price but they still had noticeable balance issues.
An amp doesn't really make that much of a difference to the M50's. Doesn't really need it either
Budget: £30 or less(prefer to be less) eBay: Nah Country:Belgium but can buy stuff from UK amazon Isolation: ? Purpose: See below Music Tastes: see last.fm Right I want a pair of noise cancelling headphones that fit in my ear. I work in a networking lab(Biggest in europe) and its loud as fuck i.e just below the legal limit without ear protection. And I want to listen to my music(via laptop) while working but I don't want to use my normal headphones as I would have to turn them up all the way when a nexus7k is behind your head.
So, my younger sisters birthday is coming up pretty soon, and on her wishlist is a pair of headphones. More specifically Beats by Dr. Dre, and I will simply not buy them for her. What is a good alternative? Primarily she is listening to pop-music, if that matters. Budget doesn't really matter. I thought this would be the best place to ask, since you guys know your shit. Thanks! Please do not think of me as a "Rust kid", just because I joined in June. I could not care less about it to be honest. :v:

She mostly listens to One Direction and Justin Bieber etc. As far as I recall, bass isn't the most important thing. I could be wrong of course, since I don't know much about shit, and don't listen to that kind of music. Thanks though, I'll look into them.

Make sure you get the version with the coiled cable if you do get them though. A straight 10 foot cable is really annoying if you want to use them outside your house.
My microphone just died and i was wondering, is the Zalman ZM-MIC1 any good? People on Amazon describe it as the clip being too big and the microphone sounding distant.
My microphone just died and i was wondering, is the Zalman ZM-MIC1 any good? i just got a pair of JVC HA RX-700, i've had them for about a week, but it feels like the left side is quieter than the right side i'm not sure if it's just me or not i had to reduce the volume in the right side to make it not bug the hell out of me, is that pretty normal or should i see about getting a new pair?

Try a different source to be sure it's the headphones, also maybe press them into your head to possibly try and fix the driver since on semi-open headphones sometimes have the issue of the driver ... inverting?

So I've lowered my choices down to these few pairs: Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro Black http://amzn.com/B008XEYT48 ATH-M50s Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO http://amzn.com/B0006NL5SM I'll still take recommendations for anything around the same price range but I doubt there will be any other than those.
Need a cheap gaming headset, any recommendations? My last pair had an obscenely long wire that got caught under my chair and ripped.

The M-50s are pretty comftorble and portable. Also great sound, but from what I have heard, the 770s are better.
