So I kinda broke my HTF600s...Does anyone know how to disassemble these things so I could attempt to repair them? I tripped over the cable while walking away and probably sheared a wire somewhere, I might be able to fix it if I could get them apart.
I'm currently struggling between these two
which one should I take?
Been using a pair of steelseries Siberia v2 for quite some time now.
Over the years, the headband that adjusts to any head has been laying my hair flat, making me look retarded
Was wondering if it would do any harm to the headset if I cut that off, where the red circels are marked?

I don't get why audio technica hasn't moved over to detachable chords with, for instance, the M50s.

If you cut the adjustable headband off it's not going to sit on your head properly
unless you have a giant head
unless you have a giant head
I have a giant head, I had the biggest head in my class
The class had 60 people in it
60 people had a smaller head then me
60.
I'm buying a pair of V-MODA Crossfade LPs for $65 next week, barely used from a friend that doesn't use headphones but got it as a gift a while back
Help my G330s are dying. I love them to death, but they're quite uncomfortable. I need a headset( yes, headset, I require only having 1 accessory to carry around) in the budget of~$150 with #1 priority being comfort. Sound quality isn't a major issue, but I would prefer good noise isolation. Wireless is nice but not required. I was looking at the G930s, anyone have experience with those?

Get headphones with a clip on or modmic, then it is only one thing. Will be much better than any headset in your price range.

But then doesn't that give me an extra cable I have to deal with? I'd rather avoid that if possible, I have trouble keeping my backpack tidy as it is with my G330's single cable.

"I'd rather get a poorly made, poor sounding, uncomfortable headset just to have it break on me JUST LIKE MY LAST PAIR, just so I don't have to deal with an extra cable."
Quit your bitching.

Also if you insist on getting a headset, I bet Logitech will replace yours.

Easy, calm down. This is why I was reluctant to come to this thread in the first place. It's not like I'm going for another $30 cheapest-I-can-find headset like I did with the G330. I don't see why I have to get studio-quality headphones and a detachable mic when I'm willing to pay the difference in sound quality just to get a convenient headset. My only real concerns are comfort, sound isolation, and keeping around my budget. I'm not an audiophile by any means, my content and hardware won't put out fantastic quality sound anyways. If I really wanted to go that route we have a literal bucket full of high-quality studio headphones at home I could dip into.

It's just not a sensible investment to get something poorly made and worse performing for the same money.
It's just not a sensible investment to get something poorly made and worse performing for the same money.
I guess that makes sense and I'm just being stubborn. So subtracting the Modmic's cost (~$30) from my budget(leaves me with $120), what would be the best headphones to go with it? #1 concern is comfort, something our headphones are not, #2 is sound isolation.
[editline]17th July 2013[/editline]
Also headphone related, is there any sort of adapter I could get that converts separate headphone/mic jacks into the jack type that works with iPhones?
And my #3 concern is portability, so something more durable (coiled cords are fantastic, too) would be best.
[editline]17th July 2013[/editline]
also I checked on Newegg and the G930 is only $105. Am I going to beat it with a modmic/normal headphone combo at that price point still? Factoring in the fact that it's wireless that's not a bad price.
[editline]17th July 2013[/editline]
Wireless is pretty tempting...
I would go with some Shure SRH440s. They are comfortable, well built, have a coiled cable, and even fold up for travel. If they aren't comfortable enough, you can get the pads for their big brother the 840s, which are the go to pads for any headphones they fit.

That or wait for m-50s to be on sale or HD 518s.
Which headset should I get around the 165 price range if I can't afford to get DT 770s? ( http://amzn.com/B0006NL5SM)
ATH M50s or Beyerdynamic Custom Ones?

How about looking on eBay? (authorized dealer, new @ 165)
[editline]18th July 2013[/editline]
Personally I liked the sound that came out of ATH-M50s but it would be tortuous wearing them for more than 10 minutes at a time

That seem's reasonable but why is the picture of a DT 990?
How are the DT660s? They're on Massdrop for $130 at full discount, is it worth it?
[editline]19th July 2013[/editline]
Forgot to mention, music would be rap/hip hop and electronic mostly.

M-50s are most likely going to be on massdrop for $130, so I would wait for those. Will probably take 1-2 weeks though.
Anything better I could get for the same price as the Sony MDR-V6s, about £54?
Today, I went to an apple store just for shits and giggles and saw the headphone lineup, so I tried out a Bose AE2, OE2 and QC15. (and some beats)
I couldn't stand the beats for more than about half a second because it was like having my head clamped in a vise, the AE2 just sounded a bit lacking compared to my HTF600s (I don't know why, maybe because of wear?), and the QC15 was a bit muddled with the noise cancelling on, even though it worked well.
However, the OE2 felt and sounded pretty great. The bass was there and my music was fairly clear, on a very light platform that was very cool on my ears. They weren't mind-blowing in terms of sound quality, but I liked how comfortable and light they were.
Before I go on and impulse buy them off eBay, is there anything I should know about them? $100 sounds very reasonable for a fairly comfy, cool pair of light headphones for portable use.
Nothing wrong with Bose except they cost a lot. Most people looking for a comfortable/light on ear headphone would get Portapro (for open) or a sennheiser PX-200-II (closed). Maybe even full size aurvana live.
Hey guys, I've been looking for a new pair of headphones for a while now. I've been looking at the ATH-M50s, but they've had a sudden 30-40 dollars increase in price, so I need help finding an alternative.
Budget: 800 DKK / 140 USD / 105 EUR / 90 GBP (Can go slightly over the budget if necessary.)
eBay: Nope
Country: Denmark
Isolation: Over-ear
Purpose: Long gaming sessions and music (They need to be comfortable over a longer period of time.)
Music Tastes: Check my last.fm, it's under my avatar
Previous Experiences: Currently I'm using a pair of Logitech G35, and they're starting to fall apart. They USED to be comfortable for long gaming sessions, but now they're getting annoying after a while. Also the sound quality isn't that great.
Thanks in advance!
Is anyone actually reading this thread? :v:
I know right, no one ever answers in here. If you really need advice on headphones, http://www.head-fi.org/f/ would be your best bet.

Alright, thanks
Are there any good gaming mics that are around 30 USD or less? I don't have a preference between clip-on or tabletop.
