Two stars, five reviews. If this was a survey, it'd be dismissed as experimental error. It's probably great, I'll get it. I game on earbuds so actually, that clip-on mic might not be a good choice.

I don't know how good that is or if it makes any real difference. Basically I'm going to college and I'm going to be living with a room mate, so I want headphones that will allow me to listen to music and play games without bothering him.
Anyone know of good replacement ear pads for a pair of Grado SR-60i headphones, mine after seven months of use are finally showing what has been said about them in reviews.
http://www.amazon.com/Replacement-Cushions-Sennheiser-SRI-Series-headphones/dp/B002B4OEZ0/ are a popular replacement, they're much larger and more comfortable, and a lot of people cut circles in the center of them to allow more sound through.

These V-MODAs needed a bit of EQ to get rid of some of the bass but holy shit, best $65 i've spent in a while
God damn it, I managed to sever the cable on my headphones. Is there anything I might need to know to go about re connecting it?
God damn it, I managed to sever the cable on my headphones. (Actually, I'd recable the entire thing) What headphones?
Just a pair of those Panasonic HTF600s so it's not like I just flushed a bunch of money, but they're my only headphones, and I don't have speakers. :( The wires are damn tiny though. Looks like there's only two colors, Red and Blue, with a bunch of what looks like Nylon insulation or something.
wrong thread

Hey everyone, here's a good deal. I am having trouble formatting this from my phone, so this review is posted up here. http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/philips-citiscape-downtown If you are looking for a great pair of headphones for on the go and don't need to fold up, here is a great deal for you! Select the white ones: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006WHPQUO Only $35, AND the review on top says they are great even at $100 price point. Looking at the graphs, they measure VERY well at this, and even the $100 price point.
I just bought a Rosewill RHTS-8206 on a whim because I needed headphones. Best $65 I've ever spent on a headset. Ever. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826193069 And they fucking VIBRATE.

Not a good idea buying on a whim without asking around.
After reading some reviews on HeadFi, what the fuck is up with the sound descriptions? Smokey flavor? Analytical colors? Neutral colors?
Most people on Head-Fi are high off their own shit. http://nwavguy.blogspot.com/2011/05/subjective-vs-objective-debate.html Read that.
Sounds like you bought a on-ear dildo
My old headset Steelseries Siber v2 with bass boots on and max volume vibrated so damn much, but it felt so nice.
Not really headphone related, but I thought some of the audiophiles in this thread might be able to help me. I'm trying to choose on a speaker + amplifier (2.0) setup for my tv, are there any threads/sites that have a list of great speakers or that can inform what specifications are important? I'd love for my setup to be expandable so I can buy a subwoofer or upgrade to 4.0 or 5.0 afterwards.

I think a good place to start is on e-bay if you don't mind used speakers. You see, audiophiles tend to take very good care of their equipment, so you usually get it in good condition. Specifications don't matter a TON (unless they are detailed) since half of the manufacturers fudge the numbers. Just worry about getting good speakers. I am personally a big fan of Paradigm speakers and I got some great ones over the course of a few months of scowering e-bay. At full price the system I have would cost me about $1700. I got it all for: $270 - Denon InCommand Receiver (AVR - 2112CI) I got a great deal on an open box at Best Buy. $36 (Each) for Paradigm Cinema 220 Speakers, Left Right, perfect condition (They go for $185 each new). $150 Paradigm Monitor 370 V4 Center Channel Speaker (Goes for ~$3xx new) $95 Total for 4 Paradigm Cinema 70 V2 Speakers and 1 Cinema CC V2 Speaker (These fill in my side and rear, usually goes for ~$400 new for the set) $90 Paradigm PDR-8 Subwoofer (~$200 New) So that's $675 for a system that costs $1700 brand new, and it works AS IF it was brand new. Now that sir, is a great deal. Now that is a lot to spend all at once, but if you take it one step at a time, it won't be so bad at all. So, here is the scoop. If you want to take it super easy, get two smaller speakers of a good brand, if you want to spend a bit more at first, pick two nicer speakers of a good brand. If you pick smaller speakers, you can eventually put them into the Rear-Left-&-Right positions in your surround sound set up. In my case, I bought the Cinema 70's first, then got Cinema 220's later on when the price was right, then I just moved the 70's to the surround positions. So basically, look for speakers in your price range and read up on the companies. See what other lines of speakers they carry and what you would like to get in the future. If you want to end up with a full system, you have to stick with a line of speakers. For example, my speakers are all of the Paradigm Cinema Series, except my L and R speakers use the Monitor Series speaker drivers, so that is why my center is a Monitor 370. That way the sound signature stays the same across the sound field. As for an amplifier, a standard receiver from a good company is the way to go. You get what you pay for, and the quality of the amplifier DOES matter. Some people say "a watt is a watt", but the quality of said watt depends on the quality of the amplifier. I think Denon is the best brand for entry level. Onkyo is pretty good too. Now, if you JUST want to get speakers first and worry about the receiver later, you can get by with something like this, if you don't need especially loud music: http://www.amazon.com/LP-2020A-Lepai-Tripath-Class-T-Amplifier/dp/B0049P6OTI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375338425&sr=8-1&keywords=amplifier I own one of those as well and they really aren't bad for the money to start of with for just a little while. Let me know if you have more questions.
I did a bad thing. I went out and bought a headset. Steelseries Siberia V2, only set I could find that wasn't a $15 logitech headset. No complaints so far, they're actually pretty damn comfortable. Still gonna fix my other set of headphones, but I need to find my wire cutters so I can splice the wires back together. I'll probably let my nephew use them. Edit: Realizing I could have gotten them about $20 cheaper if I'd ordered them online, but I would have had to wait a week for them so, oh well.
Getting some Aurvana Live from a goon for $40, super excited!
Well the left headphone of my JVC HA-RX700 somehow managed to snap off, without any back up headphones I'm left to using my iPod headphones as a backup, ew. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could recommend me some decent headphone for gaming, which is what I mostly used them for. I maybe want to upgrade from these ones:(http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) But I don't want to spend more than £50-£70 on them. I need a pair of headphones that doesn't have a mic attached to it because I already have a desktop mic, so it's all about the sound quality. Thanks in advance.

Is this a thread to talk about Foobar issues? Last time I came here I read about Foobar, and I can't find another thread to post in.
