Just checked and there's actually a crazy sale on the Art Tube MP: http://www.amazon.com/ART-Tube-Studio-Mic-Preamp/dp/B0002E50MC/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1378736089&sr=1-1&keywords=art+tube+mp
It's normal jack, though, so you'll need a converter. On the flip side it's a lot more versatile, and probably sounds better as well.
Oh, I have a converter, it's just the plastic around the end of the 3.5mm side is too big for my headphone jack of my 5.1 speakers, but it fits into the adapter that goes into the PS3.
Also, I'm from UK :v:

Downer, should've noticed that. I actually thought about doing an impulse buy, but they don't ship to Denmark either.
Is it true that headphones sort of burn in and get slightly better over time when they're fresh?
Also got 29 eur headphones. Dat bass :v:
better than my 15 eur ones but way more comfortable.

I'm really not great with headphones, but I think there's some burn in required on most headphones - time should help the bass, at least I've heard. But again, I'm not really into that kind of stuff.
So my Brainwavz M3s broke and I need new headphones.
I was pretty happy with them but the sound was flat. Is this a general In-Ear problem?
I want to listen to music at home and on the go. But I also wear glasses. Will this make wearing them uncomfortable?
The headphones should be loud and have a nice 3-D effect. I listen mostly to electronic and classic music. My budget is <100€. Any suggestions? Are the Sony MDR-V6 good for my purpose?
Seeing as I have them two adapters to put headphones (3.5mm) into PS3, what amp would you recommend? The volume is a bit low when I connect them to the console, so need an amp to control the sound!

Just a thought, but you could use an auxiliary cable to plug into your mic port on your pc and then use it as mp3 player mode or whatever it's called. It just relays the sound through your PC. That way you could use the amp in your sound card. This is all assuming your PC is close to the PS3.
Quick question, wondering if this is a good idea
so I don't have a credit card but I have $40 excess cash. my headset is completely toast(my microphone is outputting stereo mix and no setting is fixing the problem, ive tried messing around with drivers and tried using it with a different computer and no go) and I need to use it for some shenanigans on wednesday + later in the week. is it a good idea to walk into a store like best buy or something and buy a headset there
or if best buy sucks what store should i buy it from
edit: also forgot to mention, the soundcard im using is built into the mobo, its a via vt1708s, ive generally had some negative experiences when fiddling with the audio drivers they have and instead leave to the drivers that windows installs automatically, would an external soundcard help remedy the problem some?
I don't know when but someone mentioned those crappy looking square headphones some time back...

You can now get your own pair. :v:

PC is right next to my PS3! My sound card is an Xonar DX. I heard that it might cause a delay in sound? Could this be true?

$999.00
I'll take ten please!
Edit: Apparently they last "forever" if you take care of them? Doesn't sound like that much money then.
Can anyone recommend a good (doesn't have to be cheap, maybe upwards of 60-70$ or so) mic? I am using the Zalman, but I have recently taken up streaming, so I would love some better sound quality.
No Ebay plz.

Which one should I get so it fits in the headphone jack of this 5.1 speakers I have? I want the best audio quality possible of course, just whether the £9.49 one justifies the price?
Just gonna shamelessly plug the Etymotic HF3s/HF5s for a second because I fucking love these things
[thumb]http://i.i.cbsi.com/cnwk.1d/i/tim//2010/01/08/combo_hf3.jpg[/thumb]
Bought these a while back as an IEM counterpart to my beloved Audio Technica ATH-M50s. At first I didn't want to spend too much on IEMs, but after trying a few pairs in the $25-50 price range I eventually caved and dropped a load of cash on these things. It was worth it.
While the Etymotics obviously don't have as much bass as the M50s due to being IEMs (it's there but it's tightly controlled rather than skull melting), they are accurate as hell and reflect everything I love about my M50s in a much smaller package. The insulation is also incredible, you will hear absolutely nothing from the outside world with them on. Only real downside is they go in pretty deep, but you get used to it.
The HF3s have media controls and a microphone, while the HF5s do not, which creates about a $50 price difference. If you want accuracy and don't mind spending $100-150 on IEMs, go for these
So I'm getting some DT770's, the 80 ohm version. Should I get a soundcard or a headphone amp for my computer?
My friend just got some new M50s, and the ear pads were incredibly soft compared to my now 9 months old pair. His were soft and squishy, but the pads on mine are hard and not very flexible. Is that normal?
I can't remember how soft they were to begin with.
Don't worry, it's completely normal for that type of material to start drying up as a result of exposure to grease and sweat/humidity over time.
You can always find a new pair of pads online and swap them out yourself if it comes down to it.
They are really uncomfortable as well, no other headphones sound quite like Grados though, they are worth trying at least once.
Can I dispute this? Because I find my Grado SR60i's to be like a comfy pair of earmuffs.

I encounter this all the time with mine, the pads tend to dry out pretty quickly
I remember reading about how to prevent that, apparently leather/vinyl protector helps if you apply it regularly. Of course it also helps if you make sure your head isn't too sweaty or greasy before you put on the headphones. You can also get certain Beyerdynamic velour earpads, which apparently fit perfectly and are really comfortable, but unfortunately will change the sound character of the M50s.
The cleverest solution I've seen is to stitch velour around the outside of the standard M50 earpads, which will give you the comfort and sweat resistance of velour without changing the sound character. (Here's a link to that thread, and picture)
Bummer that they dry out. Oh well.
Will probably just order in some replacement pads in a few months time. Velour doesn't sound too nice to me if it got all sweaty and smelly.

I did this with my Xbox and as long as I have the sensitivity on the mic port turned down to like 20%, the sound quality is totally fine.

My Crossfade LP sounded much different after about 24 hours of burn-in. The mids and highs are much more clear than they were when I picked them up, not overpowered by bass anymore.
So, RIP Alienware TactX headset, served me pretty well for two years until you snap at the least inconvenient time.

Budget: £80 I guess, don't have much money at the minute and this is pushing it.
eBay: No
Country: UK/England
Isolation: On-ear
Purpose: Listening to music on my computer and if possible I'd like to wear them around while I'm out listening to music on my phone.
Music Tastes: Rock, dubstep, drum n bass
Previous Experiences: Alienware TactX, Astrotec AM-90
Comments: If they looked decent and weren't too big and clunky that'd be great for while I'm out.
Thanks.
Budget: 170$
eBay: No
Country: Norway
Isolation: I'd prefer decent isolation, my computer makes a lot of noise.
Purpose: Gaming, music, skyping and movie watching. (Degree of importance from left to right)
Music Tastes: Everything from Classical to metal to folk-indie.
Previous Experiences: Sennheiser PC350, Creative fatal1ty (ugh, worst purchase what was I thinking), Corsair HS1, Logitech G930 (Broke an hour ago)
Comments: I'd prefer wireless. I'm thinking of maybe going with another pair of G930 (They broke because of me being stupid)
I know this is headphones but I have sub woofer question, I have heated foot pad at my desk and my sub is sitting right on top of it. The pad only gets to about 90 but, will that heat mess with the sub at all?
Budget: $100
eBay: no
Country: U.S.
Isolation: Preferrably open, or semi-open, but anything goes. See comments
Purpose: General listening - iTunes downloads and Bluray concerts
Music Tastes: I'm guessing classic rock (Elton John, Yes, Moody Blues, Beatles)
Previous Experiences: N/A
Comments: I'm looking for a pair comparable to my HD515s for my mom. As with the 515s, comfort is a priority, and it needs comparable or better sound quality since she's wanting a pair just like mine. Since the 515s are officially discontinued, I'm hoping for something cheaper than getting the 515s retail anymore ($100) but I will go for the HD518s if they are equivalent/better and better than other options.
As a personal note, I like how the 515s handle bass and anything similar is a plus. Also if they can somehow be portable (wireless, durable, whatever) and in the budget, even better, since my mom will probably use these from around the house. Not mandatory at all though, I have long enough cables for it not to matter across a room.
My HTF 600's are acting up. While watching Netflix for example, the voices disappear and only one channel is played, which seems to be the back one. I have tried using both virtual surround and disabling it, still only what seems to be the back channel plays.
The sound also seems to go from 192000 Hz to 44100 Hz or something extremely low when this happens, it sounds like I am listening to the thing I am listening to through a poor microphone.
I've tested both on my Windows 8 computer and my Macbook Air.
Sennheiser HD 600's for $309. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/sennheiser-hd600
