Should I buy another pair of HTF 600's? On the US amazon they're currently going for 32 bucks each.
[editline]16th September 2013[/editline]
Okay I found the problem. If I bend the cable even a little from it's neutral position in the headset it causes a gap in the circuit or something and the sound fucks up. Any ideas how to straighten this out? Even if I lean a bit the sound screws up.
Got these today.
I had Sennheiser HD201's before, which for the price were awesome.
quite the upgrade, I just ordered some HD201 for my GF

They've lasted me over a year.
So I was thinking about buying a Fiio Olympus E10, but I'm not sure if it will be that big of an improvement compared to what I have now. Currently I'm using a first gen Creative Audigy pci-card to drive my Denon AH-D2000.
I know audio technology hasn't changed all that much since the last few decades. But I could really use a physical volume knob in stead of using the volume mixer.
Is it worth it?
Given the advice to buy a desktop mic in this thread. Do any of you have recommendations for desktop mics?
I'd preferably want a cardioid, echo-cancelling, 3.5 jack microphone given I use my normal speakers occasionally.
[editline]asdf[/editline]
I think i'm settling on this, despite not being cardioid, it at least can utilize software echo-cancelation: http://www.amazon.com/Microphone-Computer-Laptop-Notebook-canceling/dp/B002KL0VY2/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1379541337&sr=1-3&keywords=desktop+microphone
Budget: $150
eBay: no
Country: U.S.
Isolation: Circumaural
Purpose: FPS Gaming (Red Orchestra 2, CS:GO etc)
Previous Experiences: Currently own a Logitech G930 USB Wireless
Comments: Looking for better audio clarity, still want great bass (G930 delivers satisfactory here for me but I'm sure there's better). Was recommended the Sony MDR-V6 for a $100 budget.
ONE MAIN CONCERN:
The Digital 7.1 in my G930 really helps me out for pinpointing enemy locations while gaming. Would it be a downgrade in terms of this to buy a nicer stereo headset with better audio quality? I would like a good headset that maintains something like this feature.
Will probably buy the Zalman zm-1 mic.
This might've been asked a lot in this thread, but I don't feel like reading through 20 pages, but why are headsets bad?

Generally overpriced for the quality of the drivers, marketed towards younger guys that don't necessarily realize a massively expensive gaming headset has nowhere near the audio fidelity and range of a similarly priced pair of headphones, just because really. I own Logitech G930's that were 140ish new and I could probably have something with much better audio quality for less money, buy a $10-20 mic and stick it on them.
I'm just not figuring all of this out.

Not really.
It's all software, so every headphone can have this.
I use my sound card for it (I think Razer released free software for it?), although I do it extremely rarely these days as I play mostly LoL now.
What do you all think of the Steelseries Siberia V2? Both me and my brother have one and we like it a lot but I'm interested in any criticism of it.
Budget: $500 (~$300 for headphones, ~$200 for DAC/amp)
eBay: no
Country: U.S.
Isolation: Don't need
Purpose: Music, movies, some gaming
Music Tastes: Electronic, jazz, big band, rock
Previous Experiences: Fiio e10, with MDR v6.
Comments: I want to get the Schiit Modi + Magni combo, unless there's something better for ~$200.
I was looking at the Beyerdynamic DT880, but was confused about the different versions available (32ohms, 250ohms, 600ohms), and which would work best with the Magni.

Turned out to be a great buy, the capability to utilize software echo and noise cancellation combined with crystal clear voice is godsend.

I've got a pair, they're really comfortable, I personally don't have any complaints. They block 90% of all noise so I can't hear anything or anyone with them on. They are a headset, so I'm sure they're looked down upon, but they serve my needs.
What is the best headset with a microphone? What do you recommend?
I've been looking at a Roccat Kave, but is there anything better?

The best headset with a microphone is the one where the headset and microphone are separated.

But what would you recommend? Something that i can get here in Denmark.

What's you budget?
In other news, I just got a pair of D770 Pros, they're really, really great. Kinda high impedance for normal use, though, glad I have an external sound card.

Just checked it out, but it seems that those are mostly for music and such. I'm going to be using the headset for some gaming, and some video editing. Would this headset be good for that purpose? I was just thinking that i might need something with surround sound or something. I might be wrong as i don't know anything about headphones.

They'll work great for anything. With Surround sound headphones (at least one that don't use software tricks to make it happen) you get a lot of smaller, cheaper, shittier drivers to give you a sense of surround sound. With normal stereo headphones, you get two more expensive drivers of much better quality, and surround sound can be done almost the same through software means anyway.
In conclusion, don't buy "Surround Sound" headphones.
Also, prime example of "Surround Sound", just use headphones:

Remember, your ears only have two "channels" everything else is done by your brain.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a sound equalizer? (for my speakers) - the built in windows one doesn't work.
Just bought a pair of Logitech G430 and holy shit this is the best buy ever
7.1 dolby surround sound makes battlefield sound incredible. I'm in love

hope you know there's 2 speakers and the surround sound is simulated, something you can do for free
How do people break their HTF-600s? I have had mine for a good while and they are in perfect shape. They could use some new pads but thats normal. How do you people treat your headphones?
But what would you recommend? Something that i can get here in Denmark.
If you're stuck on a headset, go for Plantronics GC780.
I can't stress enough how much better seperate headphones + microphone is though.

hard falls, mine broke but it was only after like 6 months of use, now I have Creative Aurvana Live and treat them like a baby (sans shaking)

Mine managed to get the cable caught in the rollers of my keyboard tray.
