I have a pair of Bose OE2i's and the cable recently gave out. I'd like to replace it, but I don't know where I would find a cable that fits it. The end that goes into the computer is a regular jack (3.5mm?) but the other end is shorter (maybe 2.5mm?).
Anyone know where I would be able to get a replacement cable? It's just under a year old.
Mini to micro-jack cable? You can get those basically anywhere. Chances are your current cable has some kind of "lock", though, so that may not be a perfect fit. I fixed something like that once with a knife, but it wasn't pretty, and it didn't sit all that well.
Bought the 250 ohm beyers, holy fuck these are the most comfortable ever, and the sound is really nice even before the burnin

If you're still looking for an amp, I recommended the O2 amp (http://epiphany-acoustics.co.uk/products-page/headphone-amplifiers/ehp-o2-portable-headphone-amplifier/) or the combined DAC/AMP version (http://epiphany-acoustics.co.uk/products-page/dacs/ehp-o2d-miniature-desktop-headphone-amplifier-with-usb-dac/).

Do you have an external soundcard or what? 250Ohm is pretty much.
But great that you like them.
im considerin the sennheiser HD 598 and the zalman clipon mic

its for gaming and general music, what do you guys think
Nice combination if you don't want bass.
What's a good setup for a cheap as hell pair of headphones and a separate microphone? It'd be for gaming, recording and music for a user who isn't too fussed by audiophile-level quality.
I'm contemplating taking my Turbines apart to try and repair them. I think the one year replacement period I had is over but even before that, Amazon wiped the order history so I never could get proof I ordered from Amazon directly and didn't get a knock off. Either I try to fix them or I look for some other IEM's that won't cost an arm but is as bassy as the turbines.
If anyone has ideas, gimme gimme. Life is too short to listen to bad headphones, indeed.

Ehh, I suppose you'd want a USB microphone?
Ehh, I suppose you'd want a USB microphone?
I don't see why not. I'm using a USB headset right now and the audio in and out sounds pretty much the same as my old 3.5mm headphones.
My monoprice iem's came from Massdrop yesterday while I was at work, so I didn't get to them until this morning. So far, they're pretty fucking awesome for $6 shipped.

Can't you add bass in the eq
You really can't add much bass to headphones (or speakers) that don't produce much bass to begin with. Unless you lower other frequencies. What happens more often than not is it sounds muddy/ sloppy/ blow-out when you artificially add bass.
In short: you can't add what isn't really there to begin with and expect good results.
Personally I have a pair of HD-595's and I run a subwoofer along side them because it fills out my low end and I can feel it in my bones, which headphones don't allow for. It's a great combo.
In fact, while we are on the topic of my stuff, here is my setup:

Those T50RPs are modded to fuck, I spent more than 10 hours trying materials and ended up going with a very similar setup as BMF #3 mod. They sound better than $500 headphones I've demo'd at audio stores. They are very neutral and the bass response is the cleanest I've heard in my life. My only complaint about them is that they limit what I can listen to because they are sensitive enough to pick up every single defect in music. When you feed it good stuff it's very rewarding.
The "555s" are actually "595s" since a simple mod makes it so, but I took them a bit farther and opened up the mesh inside of the grills.
The Philips Downtown headphones are my on-the-go headphones that I don't have to be careful with. I think they sound simply amazing for the money, and they benchmark VERY well for the money. I think they are an absolute steal.
Creative X-Fi external sound card that I hook up to my laptop.
And of course the O2 amplifier, which is incredible. The numbers on it speak for themselves. I had to get a beefy power supply for it because the T50RPs require so much power.
Sort of headphone related,
Is there such thing as a clip on media control thing for earbuds? Some earbuds have the volume and play/pause buttons and they use another contact on the plug, I imagine there would be an adapter where you plug your earbuds into it and it has another cable that runs up to a control that clips on to something

Yeah,
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0039YOZWI/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?qid=1383226458&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70 Just search headphone remote adapter, there's more. Make sure it's compatible your phone or whatever, I think android and apple, and other things use different types.
Had my Goldring DR150s for a few years now and they've been pretty great, I think I paid about £40 for them.
Unfortunately they're made out of the type of plastic that a £0.99 toy truck might be and so they've basically snapped in two places and no amount of duct tape will hold up for more than an hour of use.
So I'm looking to get a new pair of headphones, preferably under £50.
A microphone might be a bonus, but I don't mind sticking with my desk mic if it means getting a better pair of headphones.
They do need to be the type that fits over and around your whole ear (circumaural?), though, as opposed to perching on top of your ear, because those kind hurt me like fuck after 5 minutes.
Any recommendations?
[editline]ye[/editline]
oh btw in case you don't know £50 is about $140,000
Budget: $70 - $130
Country: Canada
Isolation: Any as long as it's comfortable, probably Circumaural?
Purpose: Gaming such as CS:GO, and other shit.
Music Tastes: Not Important
Previous Experiences: Only used stupid "gaming" brand name headsets with built in mics, such as Razer Carcharias, Corsair Vengeance.
Comments: Don't have much experience with actual "real" headphones, I've used trash headsets and trash earbuds my whole life. I just picked up the Zalman Clip Mic so I'm looking for headphones to use it with.
Thinking maybe these, since these are on sale at the NCIX near my house, any opinions?

Hey guys, my HD201s broke a week or so ago after 2 years and I've been looking for a new pair. Should I buy another pair of HD201s or try something different?
Budget: $35
eBay: Sure
Country: US
Isolation: Yes
Purpose: Music, Gaming, Skype
Music Tastes: A little of everything
Previous Experiences: HD201s, a bunch of headsets
Got a lot of money burning a hole in your pocket? Massdrop has Beyerdynamic T1's at 39% off. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/beyerdynamic-t1
Ok, I bought the K 142HD AKG's, and my ears hurt like shit after an hour or so, cause of my glasses.
I'm going to return these, and I was looking at the ATH-M50's, but does anyone know if it'll cause discomfort while wearing those with glasses?
Dear everybody, hello.
Budget: 20-30 euro
eBay: I was considering this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Plantronics-GameCom-380-Stereo-Gaming-Headset-with-MIC-Noise-Cancelling-/131041311178?pt=UK_Headsets&hash=item1e82abb9ca
Country: Ireland
Purpose: Gaming/Music - General shit
Music Tastes: Everything
Previous Experiences: Logitech headsets
What do you gentlemen think of my choice, also yes I want a headset.
Nobody here is going to stray far from a recommendation of Modmic + HTF600 for that kind of money, sadly. That being said, I've had a few Gamecom headsets before and they weren't bad for the money. Bass was nice and punchy but not muddy, highs were a definite weak spot and just sounded nasty, the cups were comfortable to wear for long sessions, and the mic was of -decent- quality for stuff like Teamspeak/Ventrilo and general VoIP stuff. Is it really worth the money they're asking? No, probably not. Will it get the job done and be a relatively nice product? Sure, if it's anything like Plantronics product from 2 or 3 years ago. If you're set on those, it wouldn't be a terrible purchase, but I'm sure others in here will be quick to find a better setup for a similar price.

My friend has those, and they basically suck. Personally, I can't stand listening to them. The mic's pretty quiet as well, and it makes some weird noises. I understand if you don't have much money, but I'd really save up a bit more and get something worthwhile.
If you don't care at all for sound quality, though, I suppose you could buy them and be satisfied.
I'm buying new earplugs or whatever as the ones that came with the phone broke last week after 6 months of use (give or take), so far with an estimated budget of ca. 50 €.
I've thought of either Sennheiser MX 375 or Sony MDR-XB30EX (34.95 €) but thought I'd ask for Professional opinions.
I live in Finland, if that changes things
Budget: $60-$100.
eBay: Sure, if it's in a good condition.
Country: Canada
Isolation: Yes.
Purpose: Music, mainly on the go.
Music Tastes: Hip Hop, RnB, Trap, DnB, other eletronic music.
Comments: I would like something with pretty heavy bass. Also, athestics and portability are a pretty big factor for me, so take that into account. I would say that's almost as important as sound quality itself.

V-moda Crossfades.
You can find them for about $100 on ebay and maybe amazon.
I love mine, they sound amazing and look good.
So I need microphone advice. I had this steelseries headset that died on me so after finding out that headsets are fucking trash I decided to get headphones and a mic instead. I already had some spare headphones that work great but the mic is an issue. I already own a spare mic but I got it for 10 dollars and it barely works so I asked a friend for advice on a good quality durable microphone. Eventually my friend recommended I get a samson go mic. Now this mic seems super rad but it seems like a bit much for someone who just uses their mic for games and skype, should I get the mic or not get it? Also to note while the mic is normally 80 bucks I found a place selling it for 40.

What's your budget.

This USB mic would be ideal for you. It's a great deal too.

If you're willing to spend a little extra money, this mic would be worth the investment as well.

I have a question. Why wasn't the ModMic recommended? It's pretty nice quality and would be great for games and Skype. I was wondering if there's some reason why it's not praised, because I love mine. It makes me wonder why anyone would ever consider the Zalman attachable mic over the Mod Mic unless they really couldn't afford the extra ~$10.
