I'm in the market for a new pair of headphones after my HTF600s split apart after roughly a year of use. I'd like to keep prices under $100 US, and as such I've been looking at a few models already. The one that's standing out for me are the NVX XPT100s. Is anyone here familiar with them? I've a friend who recommends them but I'd like at least a second opinion before I drop the money on them.
If anyone has a comparable set for around the same price, I'd love to hear about them. Note that I'd prefer something with a good low end (nothing skull-rattling but still there if/when it's needed) and a pretty wide soundstage, which the NVXs apparently have according to this friend.
I think you'd be better off with
http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-518-Headphones-Black/dp/B0042A68R8/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1388599179&sr=1-1&keywords=hd+518
They're open ear though, so keep that in mind

Yeah, I can't really do full-open in my current environment. Most I can do is semi-open if it doesn't bleed much, which is why I was seriously considering those NVXs.
Budget: Preferably less than £50 - which I know may be a difficulty
eBay: Sure
Country: UK
Isolation: Prefer circumaural or closed air
Purpose: General use - gaming, music, skype etc.
Music Tastes: Folk/blues
Previous Experiences: Various cheaper headsets, mainly GameCom
Comments: I understand the price is a little low but I'm just curious if anybody has any good recommendations. I'll also be needing a clip-on microphone if anybody has any experience with good ones!

These?
Someone step in if you think I'm wrong. Also, for the mic I'd just get this if you're low on cash.
Sorry for the weird question but can I connect normal beyerdynamic dt-770 80ohms headphones into my loudspeaker headphone slot instead of my soundcard? (its comfortable having it closer)

Should be able to run it pretty fine.
On average, how high an impedence can a straight line out from a usb dac reliably drive?
I'm looking to get a really good desktop microphone. I prefer to use amazon and my budget is around $50. No need for headphones, my Sony MDR-V6 Monitors are working really well for me.
I've heard good things about the Blue Snowball iCE. It's got a narrow cardioid pickup pattern and reviews have given it good marks. It's not height-adjustable though, and construction is plastic instead of metal. I'd go onto Youtube and find examples of people using it and see if the quality is acceptable before you purchase of course.
Soon I'll be switching over from wireless headphones to a wired pair, but I don't exactly like watching movies in a desk chair. Are there any pairs of wireless audio transmitters/receivers that anyone recommends? It just needs to allow me to plug in a pair of simple wired headphones to the receiver, with the transmitter plugged into the headphone jack on my computer. Nothing fancy (also, note that this will not be for general usage - anything aside from watching movies on netflix at home will have the headphones used normally).
Right now, I'm looking at this for my main choice.

Yup just ordered it. Audio quality is great. I just need it as a mic to talk to people in game. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'd say that choice is as good as any. The only thing I'd be worried about is if the little transmitter fits into the space you need it to plug into, since it's kind of a strange shape.

That wasn't what he asked for though. I assumed that since he was looking for a wireless solution, a wired solution wasn't a viable option.

I meant for the transmitter. Also, this will allow him to put the transmitter in a better place to be picked up by the receiver.
I miss the bad reading rating. Sorry about that :v:
Hey i'm running into some errors with my HiFiMeDIY Sabre USB DAC. Windows isn't able to detect the driver and stops the device.
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
Anyone that have encountered this before that could help?
EDIT: The device works on my ASUS laptop so it does work just not working with my PC
EDIT2: So the problem is somthing with windows since it works fine on my dualboot crunchbang
Anybody got a suggestion for my first PC headset? My first one was a logitech headset, and the thing broke after a couple of months. I'm looking to spend probably $50-60 on it.
HTF-600's and a zalman clipon
Got my Philips Downtown in the mail today for use in commute and I love them so far.
Took my little sister to the mall so she could buy some headphones for Christmas, she wanted to get some skull candies, but I steered her away from them. First store we went to didn't have much of a selection, manager said they weren't getting restocked until the next day. But the second store had a little wider selection. At first it looked like just Beats and Skull Candy, but hidden in the corner they had some Sennheisers. These ones in particular, in green. She paid about $40 for them, which is about the same price new egg has for the same color oddly. :v:
Budget: < or = $120
eBay: sure
Country: US
Isolation: Circumaural, Open Air
Purpose: Music and ultimately PC gaming
Music Tastes: everything
Previous Experiences: Turtle Beach X12, ipod stock earbuds...
Comments: The turtle beaches weren't horrible, but im looking for something that sounds nice and needs to be wireless. For the time being im just looking for pair that'll be good for music, and pc gaming in about a year's time. I'll be getting either a clip-on mic or desktop mic sometime later, not a priority, but suggestions are welcome.

Hey, pageking. Perfect time to tell you all about Zeos Pantera. He's an old gmodder who has reviews of popular/interesting audio equipment ranging from headphones to amps to speakers. Go check him out if you're curious about a certain pair that he's reviewed or you can't decide on one to get and want a little direction.
