Made a quick mod using the Zalman. The idea isn't mine though -- I think it was from some guy on head-fi.
'something to tide me over until the ModMic 4.0 comes out:

It's just a big zip-tie with the ZM wedged onto some black-tape at the end. It works so much better than having the mic clipped onto the cord.

You are a genius, you have solved my issue of my mic falling off every other day.
Alright, I guess I should never go with gut instinct because the pair I bought was broken as well.
Fuck this, I'm asking you guys and I won't let impatience get the better of me this time.
I am looking for some headphones anywhere from $20-$60. I can go up to $100 if need be but I would really like to keep it cheap because I am not an audiophile and I don't need them for professional use.
I just want something with good surround, clear quality, and good bass. Just something that sounds good when listening to music and playing games.
I have a mic so that is out of the question.
I would absolutely prefer it to be from an actual store because so far my eBay transactions have gone very poorly and I am tired of wasting money.
So to sum it up; good quality, $20-$60 bucks.
I'm very satisfied with my HD518's.

Which headset here should I buy?
My budget is up to 600nok I guess.
I have very little time, a quick answer would be good.
I'm looking to get some in-ear earphones so I can listen to music in bed or while I'm out without them falling out all the time. I don't want stupidly expensive ones but not ones that are total crap either. Any recommendations?
My DAC(Fiio E9), is getting bad and losing connections after four years of use. Probably going to just connect my headphones directly to my computer with this, and I was wondering what changes in my audio should I be expecting?
Current motherboard is a Maximus VI Formula with the ALC1150 audio codec.

As far as inbuilt DACs go it's pretty good.
There will be a drop in sound quality - how noticable it is would depend on the rest of your setup, but it shouldn't be hugely significant unless you're got expensive stuff.
Jesus christ that's an expensive adapter.
Quick look on German Amazon and you can get these for a dollar, basically. That's a massive ripoff.
As for your question, just try it out.

Sennheiser 598's are what I am currently using for headphones, if that can correlate what I should expect :x

Yeah I know right? I have been trying to find one, but I only get 3.5mm female to 6.3mm male adapters. It's a pain in the ass, and yeah I guess that's the case.
Worse case scenario I look around for another second hand DAC.
I have the HD558 and they came with an adapter, did yours not?
I also use them on an ALC1150, don't see an issue with it. The days of plain terrible (so noisy you could hear mouse movements) onboard sound are over. I've never owned a "proper" headphone DAC for comparison though, just other motherboards, cheap USB sound card and cheap old stereo.
By the way, the front panel (= headphone) output of the ALC1150 is significantly louder than the back outputs.
I visited some shops and stumbled upon a pair of headphones called Musical Fidelity MF-100.
[t]http://www.superfi.co.uk/images/PRODUCT/large/26793_1_.jpg[/t]
Since I was there I had a chance to try these out with my phone and they sounded pretty good.
Other headphones there had either too much bass or had really muddy mid range.
At first they felt too tight on my ears (I haven't really used headphones that go on ears, rather than over) but I quickly adapted to it.
Then I tried a pair of Grado SR60s and SR80s.
The SR60s sounded pretty bad in my opinion, while the SR80s sounded quite alike the above cans. I really liked them (and they were at the same price).
Given the SR80's open design, I wouldn't be able to use them in the public, which was my original purpose in finding a new pair of headphones.
The MF-100s, on the other hand, while open too, seemed to block outside noise better, though I couldn't test how much sound it leaked outside.
Isolation is ok but being open they're not as effective as the closed design [...]
(I recommend reading this review, by the way)
The headphones have a really good design, so wearing them in public shouldn't look silly, and the wire also has inline control and microphone so the headphones are even better for mobile.
These cans seem pretty much perfect for me at this price (149€, which is the same as the SR80s) and I might even get them a little bit cheaper.
My brother got a Logitech G430 on sale a while ago and recently the surround sound feature has been sounding inexplicably "flat." If it's put in the right place or the cord is bent in some sort of way all the speakers begin to play again. Would Logitech replace it over that? It's only been two months so far and most everything else is completely functional.
And also, for the future, how are Sennheiser 363Ds for a similar effect? Is it worth the huge price rampup? I've heard nothing but good about Sennheiser equipment in general for both their quality and their longevity, the latter being a very important aspect for me.
What would be a good set of open ear headphones that will be used for listening to music, games, movies, ect? They will need to be durable (be able to take a few tosses from in game rage), soft, and be on a budget of 100 bucks. My current headphones is the Technica ATH-AD 700 and it has lasted me a while (3+ years now), but I feel it's time to retire them (1 mesh cup is gone and the other is dented). I would like something like that but tougher.

If staying in your ears is the priority then go for the Bose ones. Bit overpriced for the sound quality but more comfortable than any other iem ive ever used.

AD700s are among the toughest headphones
If you've managed to damage them that much, you might want to look into Beyerdynamic's range, especially the studio grade stuff. Can vouch for the DT150 being nokia 3310-grade strong.
The Beyerdynamics is a wee bit out of my price range. I mean I can bump it up to $175 bucks, but I would like to not be paying over 200 for headphones tbh.
Budget: around 2000 SEK
Country: Sweden
Isolation: Circumaural
Purpose: Music and gaming
Music Tastes: Pretty much anything, hardcore metal to classical.
Previous Experiences: Razer and Steelseries
I'd want it wired since wireless can be rather annoying, but I'll go with anything. I just want something with really good sound, mic comes second but it's required.

I'd like to buy new IEMs.
Budget: About 150€
Country: Finland
Music Tastes: Industrial metal, loads of lows and highs
Previous Experiences: I've had multiple Sennheiser CX400 II for years now.
I want more bass, with lower volume the CX400 II doesn't feel the deliver enough, otherwise I feel like the mids and highs have been great.
I've also considered getting earbuds with a braided cable because the wire on all earbuds I've tried have felt so weak.
It would also be great if the earbuds wouldn't have volume control on the wire, I don't like it and I don't need it.
Anybody here tried out the HD688B?

I read a lot of reviews and these seem to be widely praised as having flat/realistic frequency response and all around great sound for the money.
Initially I was looking at the RP-HTF600-S but ended up buying these instead. Should be here tmro.
Budget:$30-$60
eBay: Uhmmmm
Country:USA
Isolation: Probably closed back circumaural
Purpose: Everyday listening and hobby studio work.
Music Tastes: Everything from most electronic music to classic rock and blues to metal to some rap stuff
Previous Experiences: Sony ZX series, that's about it.
Comments: Clarity seems to be key here.

Update:
These are fucking fantastic. They get a little warm, but the sound is great.
The highs are bright but not too bright, bass is quite nice and well controlled. It does seem to roll off a bit at the really low frequencies, but its not bad.
But what makes them stand out to me, compared to a lot of headphones Ive used, is that the mids sound really great. Its not that "all high and all low" you hear with so many sets.
