i have a volume knob on my interface, but most the time its a lot more convenient to just press the big mute button on my keyboard than to make half a rotation on a knob 8 inches further away.
I just ordered AKG Q701's and an O2+ODAC. I expect good things.
You made an awesome choice.

I should hopefully be getting the amp this week. I was part of the Massdrop for the O2 and Tyler from Mayflower said he is going to ship them Monday. The headphones are going to be a wait though.
Just bought myself a Sennheiser PC360 (actually the g4me one edition which I found for the same price)
Did i do good?

Did i do good?
No, just because it's Sennheiser doesn't make the headset good. Headsets made for "~GAYMERS~" are bad. But whatever, if it works for you, cool.

Depends on how much you care about the money you spent, because you definitely won't get the proper value out of any expensive headset compared to actual headphones.

The g4me edition is just a repainted PC 360.

Everywhere I read that it's one of the best sounding cans you can get for that price (150€).

You could probably get way better sounding headphones for less.

Sennheiser HD 558's for example.
I don't know if this is the place for it, but I'm in the market for some earbuds since I'm tired of dealing with piece of shit 10 dollar ones. My budget is around 50 or 60ish I guess but I don't know anything about earbuds. Anything you guys recommend?

Except that it is the exact same headphone, only without a mic....
you spent a fair bit more for a relatively crap mic
I was wrong the PC 360 is the HD598 (not 558) + a very very good sounding mic.
Accept the fact that a headset doesent suck and is worth it's money

These are better too. I've heard nothing but how awesome the soundstage is for gaming, especially FPS'.
quit being dicks about their purchase, it's not that bad
i'm not going to say something was a great purchase when it wasn't
it's not the end of the world, i wouldn't have bought them, but you can feel free to be happy with your purchase

We audiophile now.
Can you guys name some models/brand that in the cheapish price range feature some large and oblong ear cups?
Sorta like the ones on the Beyerdynamics

I'm looking for a gaming headset. Any recommendation for the price between 1-150$?
Look at a heaset and mic separately. I thought it was a bunch of audiophile bullshit. I was wrong.
I never cared much for headphones over the years until I got married. Then I was always hearing my wife say, "Can you please turn it down?"
After hearing that a few hundred times I bought some headphones. (this was 7 years ago)
I have a a bunch of cans these days but only a few that I use on a regular basis. I love the Sony Pulse Elites. wireless and it works with my ps4 and PC. great mic and pretty good sound. Just doesn't get as loud as my other cans but for gaming they work fantastic.

So you are saying that we must buy a headset and a mic seperately? I'm sorry I haven't been in this area long.

Gaming headsets are a massive ripoff. I had a $50 gaming headset that sounded like shit and were uncomfortable as hell. I just picked up a $30 pair of JVC HARX700's and a $5 mic and it is unbelievably better

Hm. Thanks for the advice. Do you have any recommendation for my 150$ budget? I want to be a video creator, but also I just want to play games.
Well another thing is: these things have to be portable since I'm moving into university soon :v:
Now I'm far from an expert in this, but I've heard these are a top pick. They are slightly over, but look for a sale.
I'll look into it. What about the microphones? What do you suggest?
