I'm thinking of getting these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-Ergonomic-Closed-Back-Headphones-Powerful... What do you guys think?
I'm currently looking for a headphone to replace my audiotechnica ad700's. I enjoyed using them but it's been getting loose on my head (more than usual) and the mesh on one of the cups had a hole in it and was removed. Anyway I need a headset that will fit normal sized heads and not move around. Also it must be good for listening to music and playing games. Lastly I need it to be durable. My budget is also $75.
What do you guys think about the monoprice headphones http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10823&cs_id=1082302&p_id=8323&seq=1&format=2 also koss portapros? I've heard alot of the portapros being supremely flimsy

I asked this a while back, but I don't think I got any good answers for it. The equalizer in foobar is much less sensitive than the one in spotify (i use eqalify, since spotify doesn't actually come with an eq). 12dB in foobar sounds like 3dB in spotify. Can anyone explain why that might be? It's driving me nuts, and i feel like the spotify equalizer might be doing some hacky stuff and messing up the sound in the process.

I've heard alot of the portapros being supremely flimsy
Portapros are flimsy in that they're basically a metal band, they're well built and won't break though. I've pulled mine off my table dozens of times and all that's happened is the (cosmetic) metal ring on the ear piece falls off, so I just glue it back in. [editline]28th March 2013[/editline] The Monoprice headphones don't sound that great, but they're just really cheap and well built. Portapro sound amazing but are open and on ear. If you can, spend a little more and get HA-RX 700 (mostly closed) or HTF-600 (semi-open) [editline]28th March 2013[/editline] Dang, HTF-600 are now $25 on Amazon, they've been steadily dropping the price for a while.
Yeah but a note on the HTF-600s, The clips that hold the drives/phones in place WILL break (both of mine have). you can easily use super/gorilla glue to reattach them, but be ready for it. The cord is plenty strong enough to hold them together for however long until you get them secured again, but it's annoying with it constantly falling off and dangling by the wire. Other then that great headphones, definitely worth the price.

You should be nicer to your headphones.
[t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/59389727/pc/IMAG0516.jpg[/t] don't remember exactly when I got them but it was spring/summer last year, pretty much mint condition
I've dropped my htf-600 plenty of times and the only thing that snapped was the size adjuster thing which I fixed with some epoxy so its always at my size, never had that part break.
IDK, maybe I just have a big head or something, but I know other people have had it happen to them. Not that big of an issue though, so long as the wire doesn't get damaged.
Budget:<$50 eBay: no Country:USA Isolation: anything but iem Purpose:music, youtube, not so much on games Music Tastes: pop Previous Experiences: JVC-HARX700, ATH-M30, HTf-600 Comments: I didn't like the 700 because it was so bug and the earpads were so hot. The M30 didn't go to well with my non-amp setup. I am looking for some headphones that don't necessarily need an amp and is pretty durable. Also I don't plain like the HTF600

Do cables actually make a difference in quality? I know audiophiles sometimes go to the point of lifting the cables from the floor, and spending hundreds of pounds on a cable because they supposedly "sound better" but is there any difference between a £5 cable and a £50 cable used for audio?

fgdgd. I have Brainwavz Hm5 and have for quite a while now but the lows are so underwhelming :c
Then EQ them? HM5's EQ really well iirc.
sometimes
The reason I ask is I'm using some bog standard, used-to-be-white speaker cable that's years old, and I was wondering if its worth getting new cables
The reason I ask is I'm using some bog standard, used-to-be-white speaker cable that's years old, and I was wondering if its worth getting new cables
Define "speaker cable"?
Define "speaker cable"?
The cable that connects the two speakers to the amp, using the little screw plug things
The cable that connects the two speakers to the amp, using the little screw plug things
Banana plugs, cables are a myth and some people buy into it, if your cable works fine upgrading won't give you better sound.
Banana plugs, cables are a myth and some people buy into it, if your cable works fine upgrading won't give you better sound.
I don't have any banana plugs, I used to but they got lost in general storage, I was reffering to the screws that secure the wire on the back of the speakers + amp Alright, thanks for clearing that up
I have this headset that came with my potato phone and I guess I can say that it's pretty good and it can beat most $20 or cheaper headphones.
I just got my DT250 pads and put them on my M50's. It's a completely different sound, I'm really surprised how much of a difference it made, and I'm not sure if I prefer it yet or not, I probably need to just get used to them now. Sweetwater also put candy in my package <3
are the htf-600s any good for gaming?
yes
