Bought stuff. [t]http://puu.sh/b5EPw/efad23d7c8.JPG[/t]
What are those, Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro's?
V-moda M100.
Budget: Under 200 eBay: Yes, but I prefer Amazon because I have prime membership. Country: US Isolation: Not necessary. Purpose: Gaming/PC Previous Experiences: m50s, their sound is too bloated for gaming and they're not comfortable for extended wear. Comments: I'm looking for something very comfortable and has great positional audio, I was thinking about getting HD 598s. Would those be a good choice?
ad700x?
I needed a pair of headphones and a mic for streaming, and found a streamer who was using a Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000. They're only $23, so I bought them because they sounded nice. The bass is a little strong, but it's snug, and the mic clarity isn't bad. A downside is they're USB, and I'd still prefer a separate mic so my breath doesn't get caught up. Oh well, thought I'd report this.
Some amazing news for anyone who was having problems purchasing the Antlion Modmic in the EU!
Two New Intl. Partnerships & New Video Modmic Worldwide Part 1 We're very happy to announce that the Modmic 4.0 is available for sale from a local store in Australia and the UK. Our friends over at LimeUK have been helping us along this process, are users of the Modmic itself (and gamers as well). One of the top choices in Australia for computer and hardware enthusiasts, look to get your Modmic solutions from them if you are lucky enough to live down under. They should already have Modmic 4.0s in stock for you right now :) PC Case Gear New Video! RIP 1.0 video Many of our first supporters from the 1.0 Modmic days probably had a sense of deja-vu when they watched the product video on our homepage. As of this week, we have replaced that old video with the help of Dan Pred of Video Media, also of Portland, OR. Much of the same script, but with much better production quality and music :D. This video features our current Modmic 4.0 and a rare (poorly-shaven) Jimmy sighting! You may have already seen the new video on our homepage, if not be sure to check it out - That's all for now, more announcements coming in early Fall -AA
I'll give this a shot, home somebody can help.
Budget: $100 (i have more but would rather not spend much-can if it is worth it) eBay: No, i'd rather not. Country: US/NA Isolation: Doesnt matter Purpose: All around use (Comes with a Microphone would be very nice, but not necessary) Music Tastes: Daft Punk, Globus, Plus Alternative/rock Previous Experiences: Arena surround- i use these now. Not bad, has a mic built in, but the strap around head that connects to each ear cover has snapped, one side is busted so i ripped it off, the other is dangling by a string but works so i jerryrig it onto my head. Before that, just normal ipod/out of ear headphones Comments: I have family so i'll often have to slide the headphones off/back so i'd like one that can handle being pushed around a bit every once in a while. I use my current headset for my microphone too, but i can swap this for a normal headset and an external mic if it's a better option.
Got me a pair of AD700X, time to burn 'em in.
time to burn 'em in.
hah
Budget: 150-200 euro ish eBay: If it's cheaper than Thomann or bax-shop, sure. Country: Netherland Isolation: Doesn't matter Purpose: All around use, gaming (Rhythm games) and video editing. Music Tastes: House, DnB, Metal/Rock, anything that rhythm games throw at me. Previous Experiences: Logitech G930, Turtle Beach PX21, cheap ass earbuds. Comments: I'm currently looking at the ATH-M50/DT 770 pro's, those fit reasonably in my price range and I've heard quite some good things about them. I currently do not have a DAC/AMP, and unless it fits in my 150-200 price range I don't know if I'm getting one either.
The ATH-M50's are more portable if you plan on carrying them around or using outside, and I personally own them and listen to a large variety of genres (excluding most EDM). They grasp my head pretty tightly so I can't use them for more than 3 hours without interruptions. The DT770's are considered by some to be better, but careful about buying the 250ohm version if you don't own an amp to power them.
I'm looking for good headphones for around $100 and I came across these two. Wondering which of the two would be better bang for your buck. v6 any day
I'm wondering if I should get a simple amp for my headphones, or if it's worth even using with my integrated audio. I can't get a sound card since my system is ITX.
depends on your headphones, 30-60 dollar ones won't sound better, especially when a nice DAC starts at 70-90 bucks
depends on your headphones, 30-60 dollar ones won't sound better, especially when a nice DAC starts at 70-90 bucks
I'm using Superlux HD668Bs, so around 40-50 dollars.
Budget: <€200 eBay: No Country: the Netherlands Isolation: Yes please. Purpose: Listening music, watching videos on YT Music Tastes: EDM,but mostly dubstep and trap Previous Experiences: Some cheap Phillips thing,Sony XB600 Comments: I'm a basshead you can say so i'd love a nice pair of headphones that have a big amount of bass. I don't care much about looks, but they should be wearable on the streets without looking like the biggest douche (looking at you XB1000). Things I looked at/considered: ATH M50/M50x: €145 or so. Was considering them but they are apparently more for clear vocals instead of bass. Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro: I am considering this one at the moment. Seems to have good bass for €142 Beats: hahahaha no Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 Ohms or w/e it's called: Didn't look into it much but they are good apparently XB1000: Not sold here and they're fucking HUGE V-Moda Crossfade LP: Not sold here XB500: Not sold here [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] Also,I won't be using an amp. [editline]1st September 2014[/editline] Also,I won't be using an amp.
Actually I change my mind,i'm probably going for the ATH M50x. Opinions? [editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] fuck I thought it would merge sorry
Actually I change my mind,i'm probably going for the ATH M50x. Opinions? [editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] fuck I thought it would merge sorry
I have M50s (and from what I've read, the m50x is just an updated version that supposedly is more comfortable and has detachable cable) and I'm very pleased. Sometimes it gets a bit uncomfortable after several hours of use but they're absolutely wonderful when it comes to sound and stuff. A lot of people say they are overrated and since I haven't used any other high (sort of) priced headphones I can't say much about it, but I'm very pleased with mine and would def recommend them. But try and get some more opinions from people who've experienced Beyerdynamic, ATG(?) or other brands that are considered good. Just my 2 cents.

[editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] fuck I thought it would merge sorry
Check out the rest of the list on here, http://www.head-fi.org/a/headphone-buying-guide A ex-roommate (subtenant of my roommate's) bought a pair for $100 recently, gave it a try. The clarity of the sound was lacking, but we were comparing it against a $250 set. Might be because of the lack of "burn in": http://www.head-fi.org/t/386819/audio-technica-ath-m50-review If you can, try to find a showroom near you, I went here, and got to try a lot of their ~$250 range stuff with and without an AMP. Helped a lot with finding what I wanted. [editline]3rd September 2014[/editline] Ahh, so ATH does suggest it. http://eu.audio-technica.com/en/support/questions/question.asp?id=239
Are these any good? They're normally 300 but on slickdeals for 70. http://velodyne.com/vquiet-noise-cancelling-headphones-black.html
So I'm very interested in the ATH-M50, however I've read they are really bulky and not fit for portable use. Can someone confirm this?
So I'm very interested in the ATH-M50, however I've read they are really bulky and not fit for portable use. Can someone confirm this?
I've a pair of M50xs and while I love them dearly I don't wear them around in public, instead choosing to leave them at home and bring an older, much more elastic and compact pair. I mean, it's good bulk; they feel almost indestructible - but yeah, I do think it's there.

I went to best buy today because I wanted to get hands on with some headphones, and just ended up buying sony mdr-x05s without trying them on I'm returning them tomorrow Budget: < $100 eBay: no Country: USA Isolation: no doubt Purpose: for playing drums on my electric kit Music Tastes: rock/hardcore Previous Experiences: none really Comments: these headphones won't be moving around or anything, I plan on using them solely for practicing drums with. Sound quality isn't much of an issue, since I'll mostly be listening to music off of my phone mixed with samples from my drumset. The main things I'm looking for are that they're durable, they won't fly off my head, they're over ear, isolating, and they have a pretty long cord (> 5').
Im thinking of getting the MH50x myself but i will also need a mic, i was thinking of buying a mod mic to stick on mine, or some sort of desk mic. Anyone here gone through the same and bought a desk mic? Budget: under £200 not including mic eBay: no Country: uk Isolation: some would be nice if it doesnt compromise sound quality, in shared apartment but i will be in my room listening to them Purpose: in room use for pc, gaming and music. Music Tastes: orchestral, metal , rock, 80s, edm. I dont really listen to rap or hiphop apart from a few hits. Previous Experiences:Ive had some turtle beach x11 for about 6 years till one ear cup snapped off and they were amazing, but now are discontinued. I bought some cheap x12 as a replacement for now which were pretty good but the mic was bad and after only 1 year the wire inside it has broke. [editline]5th September 2014[/editline] Audio-Technica ATH-M50X Studio Monitor Professional * they are about £120 on amazon
Could you recommend something similar to the M50 in terms of audio quality and price, but fit for public use?
V-Moda Crossfade M80, but the M50's are still kinda in portable streetuse range. Seems like they are on sale right now on amazon.
Could you recommend something similar to the M50 in terms of audio quality and price, but fit for public use?
M50x are portable. They fold up and have detachable cables,I don't see what the problem is here
So do you guys think its worth the $120 for dt880s? My store is having a clearance on them. Custom 1s are $110 also.
