you are a true man
I will honor your memory
I've got the AD900x and I honestly can't tell a difference in 'soundstage' compared to my hd202s.
Is this normal or is my hearing messed up?
if you want big immersion, go with open-back headphones. the thing is that almost no gaming headsets are open-back.
I dunno if they're open back or not, but are Corsair headsets any good?
Also to clarify i'd also like them to have 7.1 surroundsound as well.
I received RE-400s for Christmas. They sound wonderful, especially with vocal heavy music. Oh, and they came with a shit ton tips.

they're not open back. and even though corsair is okay, you can do much better for the price.
what's keeping you from not buying headphones btw?

no this is not normal. the 202s are closed back and the ad900x are open back. let the headphones burn in.
do you have amp/dac?

I've been using a pair of Sony XB500 headphones along with the mic on my webcam for the longest time, so i'd like a headset since i'm not exactly a fan of that setup and would like to have something better in a sense.

I think Audio Techinca have open back gaming headsets but that may be out of your price range.

the sennheiser pc 360 is pretty good too, but if i remember correctly its discontinued. but there are still a few resellers on amazon and ebay.
I've heard really good things about the Samson Meteor Mic. Anyone know anything about that?
I've heard really good things about the Samson Meteor Mic. Anyone know anything about that?
yeah it is a fantastic mic.
I've been using a pair of Sony XB500 headphones along with the mic on my webcam for the longest time, so i'd like a headset since i'm not exactly a fan of that setup and would like to have something better in a sense.
XB500 sound pretty bad and a solution to your problem could be a clip on mic, not gonna get anything better from a headset mic.
What do you guys recommend for a Headset under 150$? I'm looking for something both comfortable and decent mic quality.

I don't want a clipon mic though, I want a headset and that's why i'm asking these questions.

Yes and the answer is a headset is going to be worse.
Would the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset be any good?
Would the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset be any good?
$60-100 headphones like an AKG K240 or ATH-M40x + a snowball mic, or a $150 pair + a clip on mic would still be a better choice quality-wise if you are going to spend that much.
If you aren't going to accept that answer then you are in the wrong place.
Would the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset be any good?
no
headsets - shit
surround sound in headphones - shit
gamer headphones - shit
this combines all 3 to become shit^3
Honestly, we need something about headsets at the top of the OP to replace the HTF-600 image. It seems like most of the posts in here are about headsets.
virtual surround is better for headphones than real surround anyways, and theres a ton of options for that. i picked up a astro mixamp for ps3/4 use and its working great so far, and if you want a full headset-like setup the antlion modmic looks like the way to go.
Alright, I've settled down and decided to buy seperate headphone and mic. But it seems seperate microphone isn't all that common here in Vietnam.
This is my workplace:

What microhpone do you guys recommend for this? I don't usually wear t-shirts in the house (shame on me I know :v:) so I might consider clip-on.
The price should not exceed 80$ also.

Would something like this work for you?
Seems perfect. Thanks!
What do you guys think of these? Going to be using them for general use, primarily gaming.
Just checking in on this, are the ATH M50X's really as good as people seem to say they are? Or is there anything in the $200AUD range I should look at?
Would the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset be any good?
Holy christ you're stupid. I absolutely hate people that ask for advice then completely ignore it.
these AD500X headphones sound AMAZING with the beatles
they even sound AMAZING with this

I bought 80$ 7.1 headphones once
big mistake. They're a complete gimmick.
Get headphones from someone that knows what they are doing.
Never. NEVER. Buy a headset.
I'm looking for a good headphone amp and really dig DIY shit.
are those O2 amp kits any good?
[editline]3rd January 2015[/editline]
Also I have a k701 being shipped that I'll plug into it.
After a year of use the left headphone of my RP-HTF600-S has become intermittent, it goes on and off based on moving the cable around. Is there an easy fix or should I start shopping for sturdier headphones?
EDIT: Now the left is totally dead. Goddamnit.

Get Headphones and add one of these to it. Instant non-shit headset.
