Shouldn't you be trying to buy more potatoes?
I grow my own, no need for that. But you need some music so harvesting is much more fun and I need headphones for that.
Which program do you guys recommend to use for virtual seround drivers? I play alot of counter strike i rely on sound. But since headphones are only stereo ive looked around and I found this razor software but are there any others? Ive got the Pro700Mk2 and damn these are great but I never owned headphones before so I cannot really compare or advise you to get these to. Difference is night and day thought between a shitty headset.

It also uses a usb, so no worrying about preamps

I'm pretty sure Counter Strike has supported positional 3D sound recreation since Source, if not 1.6 (and or earlier).

Even on shitty stereo ones it is fairly easy to pinpoint footstep direction.

This makes it really uncomfortable and is useless for quickly judging the direction of a sound. You need far more than that to accurately represent the sound you would hear with just your ears. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_localization Razer surround works fine and is free. Hardware restricted solutions do the same thing but add on some (or a lot in the case of dolby headphone) reverb to simulate a room.
I'm thinking between JVC HA-RX700 and Plantronics Gamecom 367 What do you think?

You guys had me fooled there thinking i had to wax my ears guess not.
Ok guys, I'm still considering the M50x but since I'm in Canada, it will cost an ass load more if I buy it locally. Although I found this link http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00JZRXWRW/ref=pd_cp_MI_0 and it comes with a $30 amp (I don't have any DAC or amp at the moment so I guess this can be called a starter kit for me). This is the only one I found on Amazon USA that will ship to Canada while the other ones without the amp won't. Now if I throw in the 13% sales tax (customs) and get it shipped to Toronto, it's about $189. Shipping is free because Amazon Prime. What's great is that ~$189 I'd be spending is the same amount it costs to buy in Canada but at it's base price without the 13% HST. If you add the sales tax if I was to buy in Canada, it would cost ~$213. I'd be saving ~$25 and get an amp in the process.
Turns out if you throw in the Canadian taxes and shit properly, it costs about the same. Damn the Canadian dollar is weak.. If I had a USA friend bring it to Canada, then I'd save on the taxes.

Looking for headphones, checking out these two. Which would be more preferable? If someone has different suggestions i'm open for that too.
Budget: 35 Euro/ ~42 usd, upper ceiling is 40 Euro if really worth it eBay: Ok Country: Latvia Isolation: Doesn't matter Purpose: General (gaming, media...) Music Tastes: Digital/Electronic, Rock Previous Experiences: Cheap 2-5 Euro headsets. One of them was great, had clear sound and decent mic but it died after over 3 years of use. Bought same brand but they swapped the driver and new ones sound like shit and very muffled. Comments: Cheaper is better, budget should include shipping. Already have a mic so no need for that.
Try find something from Superlux, like the 668b's. Theyre a more obscure chinese brand with great quality for the price, that specific pair is sturdy too.
So what's the general consensus on the Sony MDR7506's right now? It looks like I'm going to be doing more audio work this semester, so I'm spending a little bit of the loan money on some decent headphones and a new microphone (Blue Yeti).
If they're anything like mdr-v6's (and it seems like they are) I can only recommend them, though the cable is kinda annoying.
Budget: $200-$350 eBay: Pref not Country: US Isolation: Circumaural Purpose: Music :^) Music Tastes: All over the place Previous Experiences: Currently using Sennheiser HD360 Pro Comments: Presumably would need a amp suggestion as well, I'd go with one of the Fiios if they're well accepted. I've never listened to a high end, "audiophile" pair of headphones so I'd like to be impressed.

So if you're getting one of these two, get the FiiO E09K or the JDS Labs O2 amp.
Which headphones are better from Superlux, the 668B or the 669? they're for video games and music, mainly CS:GO, but for music I listen to a lot of stuff so I cant pin anything down for that, what'd be a better overall? eh since it's only two, and rather than cramming up the thread with comparisons, just rate Agree or Disagree for the one you think is better Agree - 668B Disagree - 669
EDIT: Never mind, I decided to just go with the Sony cans. They review pretty well pretty consistently, so I'm happy with that.
You should check out the Beyerdynamic DT 770 and the Brainwavz HM5.
DT 770 looks really nice, but it's a bit out of my price range. HM5 Looks very nice though, I'm probably gonna grab a pair of them. Thanks!
look at the nvx xpt100s as well, they're the same as the hm5s but come with comfier earpads and a extra set of angled ones too, and a more relaxed clamp force on the headband (the hm5s have a really hard clamp from what ive read) and are a bit cheaper too.
Guys I need some advice. Do you think there is a difference between cheap knock off ATH-M50 replacement pads and possible real ones? Like example 20 dollars http://www.ebay.com/itm/Headphoneque-Replacement-Ear-Pad-Cushion-For-Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Headphones-/140858839418?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20cbd7517a 3 dollars http://www.ebay.com/itm/331167180661?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I honestly cant decide and money is least of my concern. As I already ordered the cheap ones but didnt arrive yet thinking about getting these others ones to they seem more comfy in pictures.
well the latter ones look to have a smaller hole for you ears so it might make them lay on top instead of over the ear. its recommended to just get brainwavz earpads (http://amzn.com/B00MFDT894 ) for maximum comfort. that and they also have a bigger hole than the stock pads too. EDIT: level, do you mean sennheisers? if so and the pads do fit, brainwavz makes a velour version which might suit them better.
I need to figure out if those pads will work with my 518's
look at the nvx xpt100s as well, they're the same as the hm5s but come with comfier earpads and a extra set of angled ones too, and a more relaxed clamp force on the headband (the hm5s have a really hard clamp from what ive read) and are a bit cheaper too.
i absolutely forgot these existed! yeah go for them. Also keep in mind that you look like Princess Leia with these on, so you're not going to want to use them outside :v:
So the Sony MDR-7506's might be the best headphones I've ever used. Everything sounds really crisp and clear, and the depth is incredible compared to anything I've used before. I wonder how they'll be when I hook them up to my amp to use for records.
So the M40x is listed here for $100, but there's also this listing which is the same price with extra things thrown in, but it's sold by a third party. I'm not sure which one to use.
quick question: is the audio technica m50x worth getting?
