quick question: is the audio technica m50x worth getting?
the only big difference I see is it having larger drivers, comes with more audio cables and the ear muff part can rotate 180 degrees, compared to the M40x.
Hello friends. I'm kind of stuck.
Budget: $100 max
Country: USA
Purpose: Walking around my daily routine while listening to music wirelessly and plugging into library computers with optional aux cord.
Music Tastes: Rock and Metal Primarily. Some Techno
Previous Experiences: I got a pair of these a week ago and they sounded great. The only problem was that they caused me extreme discomfort by pressing down on my jaw muscles. After a while this became maddening. Ouch! Had to return them.
Comments: I also would prefer not to look silly wearing them in public. Also, foldable designs that prevent damage while carrying in a bag are a big concern.
Circumaural: Cover the ears or "on ear"

So I could just get the m40x instead of the 50 and still it would be amazing quality? I've compared the specs and they aren't that much off

Here, have a comparison video. Maybe this will help.

In the price range of the M40 though I love my Sennheiser 518's. IMO more comfortable than my friend's M50x's, and I personally can't really hear a difference in sound quality.
Apparently the current headphones I have, the Sennheiser HD 418 is basically the HD 419 minus the silly white flames when Sennheiser was trying to be cool like Beats. Anyways reviews and what not tell me that these headphones are decent and "are an honestly clean and flat sounding headphone at a good price, no obscene coloration."

518, not 418
Best earbuds? I have jvc gummies.
518, not 418
My post has nothing to do with the HD 518 nor was I referencing it in any way. I see there was a post about it before mine but I didn't see it at the time of my posting.
I recently bought a pair of AKG K240 MKII and I'm in love. Quality headphones.
Hey guys, I need some new headphones.
Budget: ~$100 willing to go up to $150
Country: Australia
Isolation: Great isolation needed
Purpose: Games and music
Music Tastes: Hard Rock, Punk Rock, Metal etc. high gain sort of stuff. I love treble and also really love booming bass
Previous Experiences: Crappy skullcandy things that hurt my head if they were on too long :v:
I need some headphones that are well built, as I want to be able to listen to music whilst on the ride-on mower. This means I'll need some headphones with great noise isolation as well. Does anything that suits my needs exist in my price range?

Not even 50 bucks... Hmm. Looks comfortable though. Not a big fan of the non-detachable headphone cord.
What about these? Or maybe you think I should just look for On-Ear designs considering how much the last pair hurt my jaw?
If that's the case, do these look like a good choice?

For on-ear I like my Sennheiser Momentum On-Ears. They sound great, are nice and lightweight, and have a detachable cord. Plus you can easily bend the band either way to make them clamp more or less.
[editline]21st January 2015[/editline]
Last time I checked it was on sale for $79. Got mine for $99, but they usually retail a bit higher.

$119, That's a little pricy, but I've heard great things about Sennheiser.
The design definitely looks nice and light, but I don't know if I like the exposed wires behind the thing metal... Durability is a big factor for me.
Plus I'm dead-set on getting a bluetooth-capable pair.

The California Silverados are exactly what you're looking for.
Budget 80-90$
Main Use Gaming
Music Anything and everything
After reading more about it, I decided to cave and get a clip-on mic (ZM-1)
Now I just need decent headphones. I do occasionally listen to music, but it's mostly foreign pop.
Anyone mind helping me with this?
This might seem familiar because I asked this a couple pages back.
I was going to purchase the Sennheiser 518s but the 80$ price tag is gone now and my range has gone up 10$.
I've a relatively large head (lotta' hair), so anything that doesn't feel like it's clamping on my head after long sessions of gaming would be great.
This might not be the place to ask but can't hurt to try!
I have a gopro setup in my racecar with 4 gopro's. However as everyone knows the sound is shit. So I figured I'll just run a wire down my rollcage to my bumper and mount a microphone next to my exhaust, voila excelent sound to go with my gopro recording.
Now, I know absolutely nothing about microphones. Does anyone happen to know a relatively cheap microphone that could suit my use? Preferably one that can take some rain n shit.

These are amazing!
I've put them on, listened to all kinds
of music and they are crisp and clear, I've heard lyrics that Ive never heard before
in songs :suicide:
Thank you guys, definitely a great , great headphone
Budget: £60 (willing to pay slightly more if needed)
Country: England
Isolation: Unsure. Most likely as soundproof as possible, but it's not a necessity.
Purpose: For use at PC. Gaming and music listening. Not much else.
Music Tastes: Dance/Trance/Techno with the occasional Rock
Previous Experiences: Only previous headset other than cheap £5 ones were my Siberia v2's. Loved them to bits.
Comments: My main concern is comfort since I will spend upwards of 10 hours a day most days using them. I also want sound quality atleast equal to the Siberia V2's I had previously.
Let's hope this works.
Budget: $200AUD
Isolation: Uh, good?
Purpose: Gaming/Music
Music: All over the place
I'm moving on from a G430 which ended up being a negative experience. If it means anything I prefer a bassier headphone.

Now that I have this headphone I'm just going to quote everyone asking for advice and tell them to get this one
honestly
Does anyone know of any good standalone DACs preferably with RCA output (I'm of the opinion that the less adapters and shite in a system, the better) under $350 other than Schiit's Modi and Bifrost and the ODAC? Just planing my next DAC/Amp setup and wondering if there's any other options out there I haven't found yet.
[editline]d[/editline]
Oh, forgot about inputs. My mobo has optical out so either that or USB is fine.
Are the ATH M50s a good choice for me. Always hear about how amazing they are. Mainly be used for my commute to work, in work and gaming at home
