Bought these some months ago, use them every day. They're everything I want out of an IEM.
I bought the panasonics that were mentioned in the OP.

well I thought the sennheiser hd 202s were the best thing since sliced gravy
will daft punk sound even more fuckin rad with these babby's on
It's going to be different, you might like how your HD202 sound more (at least at first) because you're used to how they sound. I've had HD202 and from what I remember, they were pretty muddy (bass can smear together) and was lacking in the high notes.
do you need an amp for the sennheiser 202s
hell no

I am not good with headphone
Is muddyness where the headphones 'sound' slightly dampened, like some parts of music can't go higher volume than the rest? if so - the 202s have a lot of that and I notice it.

no, I think you're describing a poor frequency response in general
[editline]7th April 2013[/editline]
muddyness refers to the bass not being able to keep up with itself, I think it's caused by sound bouncing off the ear cup of closed headphones and back into your ear.

Muddy is when a headphone lacks transparency, it isn't clear, flat with no micro-detail and the bass can smear into other low notes as it isn't refined and quick enough.

I'm wearing beats now and they sound like 202s with better bass, so imagine what beats sound like.
so i have my creative aurvana live! headphones and they're great and everything but i can only use them at home as they're not exactly very portable. i'd like some pretty nice earbuds that i can use for pretty much everything (including listening to while I play basketball, not a huge must but w/e)
i don't have an exactly limit but under $150 would be nice
thanks
I got the portapro for Samsung phone and laptop and the volume is low as fuck
what do I do I thought you didn't need an amp

What do you mean smear? Do you mean the low notes all sound the same or they drown the other notes out?
The bass notes aren't defined enough and combine leaving it sounding distorted or unclear.
Bought Sennheiser HD 598 today and I am blown away by its sound.

those are so damn beautiful that i just decided i'm going to get them
i like my creative aurvana! but they're getting a little worn. i'll use them for travel
If you can spend a bit more and get HD600s.
I currenly use the Sennheiser PC350 and have a couple of HDR 170.
I'm looking for a decent sounding headset with a mic attached to it. Any recommendations out there? Heard about the PC350 "bass" mod which should improve its bass, but not sure if I want to do that.
I like my Sennheiser HD480's. They're good for my sexy music production because I'm a serious music producer. (Right?) Oh, and I cheaped out on the earphones and got the cheapo headphones I had last. I just don't feel comfortable with earphones at all.
gonna get a xonar dg for about a tenner

Great soundstage for the price so yes good for gaming.
I have a Senheiser HD418, will that be sufficient enough for video editing on my computer and monitoring audio on a mic while recording shit? Right now I just use my computers speakers which are desktop logitech 2.1s
Budget: $100
eBay: no
Country: USA
Isolation: open or circumaural
Purpose: To play games and watch videos on youtube.
Music Tastes: mostly rock
Comments: I need something that is comfortable and can fit my ears easily since my current headset I'm using is really jacking up my ears. What kind of clip on microphone should I buy? I'd like to buy both for around $100.
