Would there be any noticeable difference to get a dac/amp to pair with my Sennheiser 558s? If so any recommendations below $100?
Only real difference would be if you've got a lot of noise for your onboard. But if it's nice and clear and not crackly then I wouldn't get one for 558's, and I also wouldn't bother with a dac/amp with that budget.
I saw this Kingston HyperX Cloud II, looks promising, is it actually that good?
I saw this Kingston HyperX Cloud II, looks promising, is it actually that good?
A bit overrated, but it's very good. The only gaming headset that I would recommend.
I'm thinking of Sennheiser HD 598s, I'm willing to spend around £175. Could I get better for the price or am I making a good decision? These are for casual use.

[editline]31st March 2015[/editline] Koss PortaPro and Sennheiser PX100 look promising, but before I look for Europe stores carrying them I gotta know about that sturdyness.
Sennheiser 518's are on sale on newegg for $64 shipped with promo code EMCAPPK69 Damn good deal.
Got the ModMic now. It has even more static than the Zalman. In the end I purged the Audio driver semi rage induced and reinstalled them. Suddenly the Mic signal is crystal clear. Well, liking the ModMic so far. [t]http://i.imgur.com/PJzmEMK.jpg[/t]
How do you get around to doing this, my ModMic generates a lot of static.

They're a bit above your budget, but if you can find them on a sale I'd highly recommend them. They're sturdy as hell, as they're basically an aluminum band with some padding and a driver on each end. It also has a detachable cable so if it breaks you can get a new one, and comes with 2 cables stock. (One normal, and one with iphone controls but will work fine with whatever if the first breaks)
How do you get around to doing this, my ModMic generates a lot of static.
I'm guessing he had "loudness" enabled on the mic input, and reinstalling his drivers undid that. In case you're using your PC's front panel jack: don't do that. The ones on the back panel are almost always better.

i bought a pair of akg k240's the other week as like my first pair of actual headphones and now i cant go back to earbuds help they have a really nice sound stage tho, like it sounds like I'm sitting in a room with speakers bouncing off the walls, I have to take them off sometimes to make sure I'm not blaring music through my actual speakers
Anyone know a good headset with a mic that has decent quality/noise cancelling and headphones that block out sound and have a good amount of base in the $50-80 range
Is there a thread for earphones? I am looking for some general earphones to use while walking to work. I kind of want to spend no more than £15.
Apple earphones seem to be pretty good, they have really good sound quality and they stay in your ears well. They block out some noise though, but not too much

There's a massdrop for the ModMic. I may just pick one up since my Blue Snowball picks up every sound made on my desk.

Is there anyone here who has an omnidirectional ModMic and could check how well software noise cancellation in things like TeamSpeak works with it? If it works as well as the unidirectional (=standard) version of the ModMic, I see no reason to get the unidirectional one over the omnidirectional.

here is a fake xiaomi piston identification guide: http://imgur.com/gallery/DL14R/new
Y'all need to start collaborating on Head-Fi. So much more helpful information than I've ever seen in this thread, sadly. I've felt the need to speak up about some of the recommendations going on in here, but it's not my money and if people aren't willing to do research I say let them get what they get. Here is a whole dickload of info on the pistons - regarding fakes is about halfway down the OP. http://www.head-fi.org/t/735775/the-xiaomi-pistons-thread-2-0 P.S. - Pistons compare to Razer Hammerheads. Just about the exact same thing - pistons albeit cheaper. Hammerheads have boomier ( the bad kind ) bass while the pistons have more treble. Personally of the two I'd use hammerheads b/c if I want treble I go for my god send amazing Altone 200's. Hammerheads are jack shit, by the way. Don't buy any Razer audio.
even though I have an account on head-fi, my expertise in headphones is nowhere near most head-fi'ers. Just watch out because some people there are really gullible. There's /r/headphones too, which I like.

It's literally in the OP of the thread that was linked.
Head-Fi has a list of confirmed good/bad sellers. It's literally in the OP of the thread that was linked.
None of them are UK
After my Sennheiser headphones dying I got myself Superlux HD-681 EVO and they're simply astonishing for their price.
None of them are UK
It doesn't matter if they're UK or not, a large amount of them literally ship anywhere. Good god are you an incompetent child? Just go buy yourself some little apple earbuds and go on with your day at this rate, you'll never be able to appreciate the difference.
It doesn't matter if they're UK or not, a large amount of them literally ship anywhere.
And incur huge shipping costs, long shipping times and, if they're outside the EU, extra taxes. Try being less of an asshole.
