Yo shit I hope you didn't buy any poop yet. Get Dunu Titan 1's, they're great. Go to $89 sometime.
Thanks for the recommendation, but I did specify that type of headphone is a total no-go for me. Got the Sennheiser MX 365 and they should be here in a few days, they might not be amazing but hopefully they'll be way better than the dollar store headphones I usually get
It seems my ATH M50x's are picking up faint radio signals now.
Looks like the Audiotechnica AD like has been going down in price recently, the yen being weak is good for the prices on them. Really great cans too.
It seems my ATH M50x's are picking up faint radio signals now.
Are you sure it isn't crosstalk from your motherboard?
My Audio Technica ATH-M50s's finally snapped after several years of every day use. I'm most likely going to get another pair, but I wanted to know if there's anything else I should be looking at instead.
NVX XPT100 and Beyerdynamic DT770 are quite good.
NVX XPT100 and Beyerdynamic DT770 are quite good.
Takstar Pro80s/Gemini are definitely worth looking into as well.
Just got my Sennheiser MX 365 headphones last night, I'm in a major state of sleep deprivation due to crunch time on a project at my engineering company and clients arriving from out of country to meet with me so I could be talking out of my ass but so far I'm loving them. I mean, they're far from top quality but they're only $35 and as far as bud headphones go they're pretty great in my opinion
Budget: ~$100 AUD eBay: Yes Country: Australia Isolation: Circumaural Purpose: Everyday use constant use, almost always on if using computer. Music Tastes: Almost everything, so I guess that means I want a flat response? Previous Experiences: AKG K-44, comfortable, but are falling apart after many years of use. I don't know how my current headphones fair audio quality wise, but I would like it if my next are noticeably 'better'.
I need a new desk microphone. I had the Zalman Clip-on mic before but one of the clips broke off and people in skype/teamspeak complain about my loud keyboard (brown Cherry MX switches). So, my biggest requirement would be that the microphone can filter out the keyboard sounds to an acceptable amount. The record quality doesn't have to be great since I exclusively need it for voip. I'd rather have one which I put on my desk instead of a clip-on mic or one that you put at your headphones. It would be great if it would be wireless but I'm totally okay with a cable. It shouldn't cost much more than 40€.
Stop bottoming out when you type or buy orings. There's no real click to your switch, so that should help a lot.
Agreed on orings, they're dirt cheap and they reduce noise massively
Should i buy the Sony MDR-1As?
Should i buy the Sony MDR-1As?
Depends of how much you're paying for them.
Stop bottoming out when you type or buy orings. There's no real click to your switch, so that should help a lot.
True for typing, but for playing fast-paced fps games.. not bottoming out will be impossible, at least for me. I'm a bit afraid that o-rings might make the keystrokes feel muddy or something, I guess I should just try them out. On the other side, I had a Logitech headset which filtered out the keyboard sounds extremely good, but it died a few days ago. So I thought there might be desktop microphones which produce similar results. I'm gonna include a set of o-rings in the order though.
Depends of how much you're paying for them.
£140
£140
yeah, thats an okay deal. Id say go for it. Just note that if you're planning to use it as portable you should know that the noise isolation is quite bad.

I've had them like 2 years, still in good condition just looking for a change now.

You can either get the AKG K7XX (its on massdrop right now: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/akg-k7xx-massdrop-first-edition-headphones) or Sony's own MDR-MA900.

Cost just over £150, hope i dont regret it.
So I've used the FiiO E10k for about 2 days, so far this thing is really damn good. It blows the M2 out of the water. It's not the typical Fiio bassheavy signature I expected which is a very nice surprise.
Takstar Pro80s/Gemini are definitely worth looking into as well.
Can someone give me a basic comparison of the Pro80s and the NVX XPT100? My budget is $100 but I'd prefer not to spend that much. I will need them to work for gaming, but don't need a microphone.

The Pro80 is essentially the closed version of the Hi2050 so it's gonna be neutral but with more of a warm signature, or it has a little more accentuated bass, personally I think the Pro80 will probably work better for gaming, since I can see the Hi2050 working very well in that aspect. Though, I'll always recommend open over closed for that use everyday of the week.

My current headphones are Skull Candy Aviators (this is the first time I've ever taken the purchase seriously) and I think that unless they are any worse than those for gaming I'll get the NVX. How easy do you think each pair is to transport if I were to travel with them once or twice a week?

It all depends if your priority is portable use or for home use. Since they are both full sized cans. I think the pro80's are a...bit? Smaller, but still big.

They seem fairly comparable and can fold.

Honestly the best thing to do for portable is to go with IEM's. I used to use my MDR-V6 for portable use but it just doesnt work, the cable is way too clunky, and isolation will always be somewhat lacking. So I guess like I said its mostly for what you'll use them for, if its mostly for home and sometimes for outside, them being a little big won't be too bad if they have a detachable cable. On a review I've seen folded up the NVX's aren't to much more bigger than the M50x's folded up.
Hadn't really considered the detachable cable. I think I'm going to go ahead and pull the trigger on the NVX's.
Hadn't really considered the detachable cable. Pretty good sound stage for closed headphones too so that should benefit gaming.
I have a pair of Sennheiser headphones that sound great (I use them when I DJ) that I use for gaming. They don't have a mic on them, so I'm looking for a mic. My budget is about $50. I would prefer a detachable boom mic over a desktop mic, but I'm open to suggestions. What would be some good mics to look into?
There really aren't any except the ModMic. If that sounds good enough for you, great. If not, you need a desktop mic (which isn't necessarily more expensive).
