okay
The O2 amp is on Mass Drop this week. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/jds-o2-amp
I just downloaded an album in 256kbps, and the difference between it and 320kbps is making it difficult to enjoy. I wouldn't have known the difference a year ago.

Okay two questions.
1) Do the Panasonic RP-HTF600E-S's have a 50mm driver or a 56mm driver? the box says it has a 50mm but the technical specifications on amazon say 56mm.
2) If my current headphones have a frequency response of 18Hz - 18kHz and the panasonics have 10Hz - 27kHz, what differences am I likely to expect in terms of sound quality/bass?

neither of those really matter (well frequency response does but saying 18hz-18khz is really not descriptive)

That's all the specifications say. What else is there to add?
A frequency response graph would work, but explaining sound in works and pictures doesn't really work. What were the other headphones?

I'd save a bit more and get a pair of DT-770s or if you can't then Creative Aurvana Live!s, Koss Dj Pro 100s or Sony MDR-V6s.

Audio Technica a900x (import) + FiiO E10 or CmoyBB
Doctor, what type of amp should I get for the DT 880 Pro 250?
Shure SRH-440 or MDR-V6.
I like the 440's, but one end is a 2.5mm and the other is a 3.5mm jack. Does the 2.5 plug into the headphones themselves?
Okay. I'm sorry I've posted a few times but every time I get around to buying these damn IEM's I need, I realise I don't have enough left in the bank.
This month I do finally actually have enough so I'll be ordering tonight or tomorrow.
Budget: Around £45
eBay: No
Country: UK
Isolation: IEM, it'd be better if sound doesn't leak though (I listen to music during lessons if we're allowed)
Purpose: Music from my phone (Phone is Nexus 4)
Music Tastes: Metal mainly, and a lot of Rock (Examples being Corelia, Cloudkicker, Adept, Imagine Dragons, Cage the Elephant, Skillet, The Fray)
Previous Experiences: Apple IEM's (They crackle at high volumes.)
Comments: I've been recommended the Dunu Ares here before, these still interest me. The Crius are cheaper but I'm not sure about quality?
Klipsch S4's seem like an OK option but I've heard a lot about the wires breaking.
Ideally I'd like something with a relatively strong cable that isn't just going to bend off with casual use.
I also generally have my music quite loud if I'm walking around so that I can actually hear it, I noticed the apple IEM's aren't very loud and seem to suffer at high volumes.
As you can see, I'm no expert, I'd appreciate any help and recommendations you guys and girls have.
Thank you and sorry for the long post!
Doctor, what type of amp should I get for the DT 880 Pro 250?
Objective2 (EHP-O2) or Schiit Magni for cheap, if you've got a bit more then an NFB-5.32

Yes the 2.5mm is under the headphone cup, it's a removeable cable.

Hm, you recommended the Ares to me before, thoughts on them over the Astrotec? The different tips on the Dunu's appeal to me, but the AM-90's look pretty sweet too. Thanks for the help and all the advice you give in this thread by the way, you do a great job.
Edit: Ordered the Astrotec's after reading the Head-Fi review of them and cheap £5 Monoprice 'bass' IEM's. Figured I may as well have a cheapy pair I can use if I need to. I'll do a mini review in this thread if that's okay? (I'll link to an album of pictures so as not to clutter the thread.

The Monoprice ones are great for the price, I recommended the Astrotech's as they use a balance armature driver which does better with mid/high frequencies which would make them good for rock/metal, the Dunu Ares would be too bass'y for that kind of music I'd say, not enough treble sparkle.
So I have a pair of HTF600 monitors but the Audio-Technica ATH-M30 is on sale for $36 and I'd really like a pair of closed headphones sometimes.
Worth it or should I just get some earbuds instead because I'm in need of replacement earbuds anyway? <$75 budget, but I'm looking for the best deal over bestest sound.
Oh god. These Astrotecs are killing my ears.
Few problems though, they didn't show up as advertised (hard case and shirt clip, got a soft case and no clip instead, which is quite annoying. And quality wise they seem worse than my crapple headphones, just a LOT louder.
Another problem, for some reason they seem quite noisy, it's like it's echoing within the actual earphones themselves.
I'll give them time.
The £5 monoprice set I got are surprisingly good, maybe a little flat, but they block out most outside noise, which is great for walking around.
Anyway I'll keep trying with the AM-90's.
Okay, just did some quick switch tests (listening to part with the apple headphones then quickly switching to the AM-90's, there's definitely a difference but I'm undecided as to whether I like it or not yet. I'll probably post again in a few days after using them over the weekend.
If you really don't like them send them back, the BAs are a bit love or hate as they're just different to normal dynamic earphones, sorry if I messed that up for you, although they should be built really well that's one of the main reasons to get them

I may as well keep them, don't worry, I'd only used them for 10 minutes so I'm letting my music play through with them for an hour or so. It's also a case of because I'm so used to the apple headphones (I own 4-5 pairs if I find them all) that it'll take me a bit to get used to these. I can always EQ them back to sounding similar to the apple headphones if I need to, just takes quite a bit of tweaking. I'm happy with the build quality and everything, just wondering why I didn't get a hard case. o.O
No need to apologise
With further use I'm definitely more used to them, I think it was a case of adjusting to the difference, the music feels less flat than the apple headphones, and they're infinitely better build quality.
I'm enjoying the monoprice a lot too, I'm honestly surprised with how clear and crisp they are.

I think I prefer the soft pouch to the hard one but they don't include any comply foam tips anymore? That was one of the best parts because the tips are £15 for three so getting a pair for nothing was great, and the foam tips were the best imo.

Thanks a lot! Seems like interesting products.
Have a question regarding those amps, though. Are there any noteable difference between the two you recommended?
[editline]20th April 2013[/editline]
Noticed that there are no mics attached to the headset it self (which was kind of obvious I suppose). Sort of lost when it comes to that. Any recommendations from you?

Are these any good? They look comfy as fuck and plus I need a mic.

There are 2 foam tips in here, along with 2 small rubber tubes, which I assume are meant to be pushed inside, entirely sure to be honest.
