My PortaPros finally fucking died again. I get about two years from this set then one of the channels goes thanks to the wiring being total trash. I'd love for something to actually replace them with now, they are great little things for what I paid though, so there's a legacy to live up to.
I'm in the UK, I have a budget max of around £50-60, I need something portable preferably but also decent enough for some home use through my PC (voip, a bit of gaming through them). I mostly listen to various forms of rock and punk through my PC or Nexus 4. Any decent sets out there?
My second headset broke just want to get a good value desk mic any suggestions?
The Zalman Clip on can not be beat for the price. Mine literally lays on my desk and sound is perfect. If not, Yeti Snowball maybe?
Can I get a suggestion on a pair of headphones b/c I'm really liking the price of that Zalman clip
Sound echo is not uncommon with those type of earplugs, let it be the Beats cable with the mic in the cable thing, stock HTC earplugs or Samsung, they all echo sound back into the mic after a certain volume.
thats normal for shitty earphones
my ostry kc06 dont have that

budget?
Hey all, not really experienced in headphones at all. Looking to replace my Logitech G930's because they are falling apart and the sound quality is pretty shitty. A buddy of mine recommended I buy some Plantronics GameCom 780's from Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=0TH-000R-00020.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
Nevermind, it is a silly idea to attempt doing it for 60 bucks, will wait until there is a better budget.

Woah - What's wrong with your G930's? How long have you had them might I ask?
Planning on buying a pair the next time they're ~$40 (hopefully on Amazon on the 12th)
I wouldn't expect soundstage/quality to be worth jack shit, I have real headphones (Beyer DT990Premium600ohm & JVC ha-sz2000's for that + amps) I just need them to for the wireless though and i'm not dumping $200 on Parrot Ziks for the small time I use them.
Three of my buddies have had em for ~1year no issue. Just curious.

I got them as a gift when I graduated high school, so about 4 or 5 years now. First thing I noticed was a few years ago the synthetic leather on the ear cups started to crack and began flaking off onto the side of my head every time I wore them, this happened pretty quickly after I got them. They leave this black crap all around my ears. A year or so later the Dolby surround sound option began to get very crackly. If I play a game the ambient noise with the soundtrack is enough for me to start hearing random popping noises from the speakers. Just recently though, the charging port has broken. I have to keep the cable in the port bent at a very specific angle in order for the thing to charge.
They've run their course, and its just time I buy a new headset. Going for wired because I think that may have something to do with the crackling in surround sound mode, and I'm just tired of making sure its fully charged when I start playing with my ArmA 3 group or friends.
Gotcha. They'll be fine for me then. Honestly - I don't think I'll even use them that much, but for $40ish there's no reason not to have them around.
Brainwavz HM5 replacement pads is what I replace all my pads with, they have a leather/pleather and velour version. Best replacement for the price. MrSpeakers Alpha Pads are truly great, genuine lamb leather, but run $60 and are just like pillows on your head. If you're looking for some wired, I could only truly advise you to get actual audio branded headphones, not a headset aimed at 'gaming'
Think Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Beyerdynamic, lots more. You can score something nicer than that headset will ever shove out on the Head-Fi buy and sell forums. This is just my own preferences though, take it with a grain of salt. You would need a standalone mic (these are good to have anyways) probably an amp, and you may become addicted and find yourself broke.
I'm looking for some new headphones, preferably sub £50 (UK), mainly for games and music (middle of the road and pop sort of stuff), but also movies etc.
At the moment I have a Creative Fatal1ty headset which I find comfortable when wearing for longer periods, so probably looking for over-ear again.

I need a fix for my Bose QC25s. The in-line remote is fucking with my soundcard. I only ever get the full sound when I hold the middle button on the remote, otherwise it's severely limited to what sounds like the upper frequencies / treble.
It uses a low-profile / slim 2.5mm male to 3.5mm male connecting cord that is replaceable. Anyone know of a fix or where to get a cord that doesn't have the inline remote? Bose doesn't have a cord without the remote, but the Sennheiser 598 cord seems to be about the right size.
These locking 2.5mm plugs are quite treacherous and not necessarily compatible between different headphones.
My 5th logitech h540 headset finally broke and i'm done with logitech, anyone got some good headphone around the $50 to $100?
I can't really find any of the usual recommendations in stock at big canadian stores, so I'll give you a few options, pick up something like the Zalman clip-on mic for a microphone.

Is there such a headset that fits the following?
• Wireless
• <$300
• Good to great positional/competitive gaming audio
• Mic
• Battery life that isn't shit
I have an Asus Xonar DGX that I use with my Sony MA900 and a modmic (great combo) but I reeeally miss wireless freedom from my G930 (muddy as shite in comparison). Getting a great set of headphones and putting a modmic on would really negate buying them. Thanks!
I'm really not familiar with many with many wireless headsets, but would a desktop mic cover the mic requirement?

Zik Parrot?
So
598HD's + Zalman Clipon?
picked up some sony MDR XB950s, wasn't sure about how sonys would sound considering i'm mostly a sennheiser person, but popped in to the local 'leccy shop and tried all the pairs of ones they had, by far had the best bass response.
Highs aren't terribly pronounced but I've just turned them a bit up on the EQ. Comfortable as shit, can see them getting used a fair amount. For £69.99 they really do the price justice
Quite surprised though, the sennheisers that were available really weren't doing it for me
Zik Parrot?
Honestly if he's only going to use them at his desk I would recommend Sennheiser's wireless headphones instead. They have both open and closed models.

That's not surprising, "extra bass" isn't really Sennheiser's style.

Not necessarily, but the actual lack of bass response isn't great. I like to be able to actually hear <50hz frequencies, didn't get them from sennheisers at all.

Well, yeah, they have bassy models, but they're not generally bassy.

Have you tried other headphones? What you seem to be describing as a lack of bass response seems pretty normal, not particularly low.
Many people don't know they want basshead cans because they don't realise their expectations are actually quite high.

I did indeed, these pair required the least EQ'ing on my part to actually hear any form of sub-bass, the last pair of headphones I had were pretty much entirely mids. Even tried a pair of Beats, and actually were shit and really uncomfortable. I guess it's true considering not that many people care that much about that, considering they probably just want a decent rugged pair that sound OK and don't break.
Takstar Pro 80
What are we talking about portability wise here? I've looked up what I can reasonably find on them and they sound fairly promising, but look like something I wouldn't get away with wearing whilst cycling or easy to keep on me without some kind of bag. It's really damn hard to see how big something when buying online :v:
So
598HD's + Zalman Clipon?
Those aren't wireless though? I already have great wired headphones.
I suppose a desk top mic isn't out of the question, but I tend to leave teamspeak on threshold settings and don't like push to talk, and I don't want to bother friends with keyboard noise.
If I go that route, since you guys are saying sennheiser, which wireless headphones would you recommend for gaming?
Hey, I got Philips SHP2000 headphones, and I noticed it falls apart once I remove it off my head.
So guess it's time to look for a new one, but I don't want to spend more than 50 euros on a new pair.
Does anyone know a decent pair within this price range?
Thanks in advance.
