I try but just get instantly snubbed, keep your cult of shitphones going.
No, you got snubbed because you were an absolute ass about it. [editline]30th July 2015[/editline] If someone's budget is $150 you can't recommend a $250 pair of headphones + a $100 amp.
Need recommendation for blu tooth wireless headset to work with my ipod, at least 8 hour battery life, 50$ budget, will probably use for working out/jogging and casual listening
Brainwavz BLU-100 [editline]31st July 2015[/editline]
Oh hi headphone people! I'm looking for: Circumaural headphones that sound good for electronic/rap/house music and for gaming, preferably from Amazon and with Prime Shipping. Noise cancellation is a plus, not a requirement and sound bleeding is a negative for me. Hell if you go to head-fi the HD 598's are a fairly common recommendation.
Hell if you go to head-fi the HD 598's are a fairly common recommendation.
Yeah but there's still some people don't really like the HD 598's there.
The ATH-AD700's will always be my recommendation for a starter set, I really appreciate an open soundstage and that pair did a great job of that, I upgraded to the DT990 Pro's though and haven't looked back, just enough bass to make harder songs hit harder but still open enough where ambient music like Boards of Canada or Tycho still sounds mesmerizing.
Is there any good headphones with mind-fucking bass, enough to vibrate your head without distorting the audio? Preferrably budget within $150 or less. [sp]My friend has Skullcandy Crushers and to be honest, they weren't bad. I was wondering if there were any other alternatives for the price range.[/sp]
Some examples, not an exhaustive list: V-Moda Crossfade LP(2) Sony MDR-XB800 if you can still get them, and for a good price (they're unfortunately discontinued) [editline]31st July 2015[/editline] You can make almost any headphones rumble by cranking up the sub-bass in your EQ, in any case...

If you get the 32 ohm version then an amp isn't required, anything higher however and you wont get the most out of them without an amp. I'm running the 250 ohm variant with a magni schiit and the sound is absolutely incredible, especially the bass.
Sony MDR-XB800 if you can still get them, and for a good price (they're unfortunately discontinued)
I owned a pair of MDR-XB700 before they broke, and they had literally not enough bass.
I owned a pair of MDR-XB700 before they broke, and they had literally not enough bass.
Did you ever try EQing up the 0-40Hz range? That's most likely what the slider on the Crushers does.
Did you ever try EQing up the 0-40Hz range? That's most likely what the slider on the Crushers does.
What would I use as an EQ if I were to take the headphones on the go? [editline]31st July 2015[/editline] And have it work with Windows, too?

There's plenty of music players that have an EQ. Some Android flavours also have a builtin one, but that doesn't always work. If you have a decent dedicated MP3 player, that probably has one too. There's also portable amps with builtin equalisers (or at least a bass boost dial) though you may not want to lug around an extra little box. On your PC, you have tons of options. Every media player I know has EQ, your sound driver probably has one too, and of course if you use an amp that'll work with your PC too.

I'm looking to apply equalizer settings to ALL applications, not only media players.
My onboard sound (Realtek ALC662) doesn't have the drivers to apply an EQ. Their software does have a system-wide 10-band EQ.
Downloaded "32bits Vista, Windows7, Windows8, Windows8.1, Windows10 Driver only (Executable file)" and nothing's different.

Takes some eq'ing but is only beat (in the bass hit) by the $100 more JVC HA-SZ2000 and few more phones in the $1k+ range. SZ1K is really great though.
Is there any headphones (or earbuds) out there that are - long lasting - don't look ridiculous - have great audio sound quality - at least under $50AUD I used to have a pair of Sony earbuds, they were amazing. Sound quality was perfect and they were a really great companion, only problem is any audio product from Sony breaks within 3 months regardless of how I treated it. So I want to avoid Sony all together, just can't find anything decent and need advice

So I keep getting Skullcandy earbuds from amazon for around $10, and I love the sound, but I'm tired of them breaking down on me. I don't move around when I use them, and I never keep them twisted up for long periods of time, but about 8-12 months after getting the buds, they break. Anyone have a recommendation for earbuds with similar sound and quality, but break down less often?

Anyone have a recommendation for earbuds with similar sound and quality, but break down less often?
First of all, is your budget still around $10, or more to accomodate for the fact that they won't break as easily? Secondly, have you actually had "better" earbuds before and didn't like them, or do you just mean "yeah those $10 Skullcandys are good enough for me, I don't need anything fancier"? Also note that people generally don't know what they want until they've actually compared a variety of options - especially when it comes to really-low-budget vs. even slightly more expensive gear. Thirdly, do you want earbuds or IEMs? The latter are typically regarded as sounding much better; comfort depends on the person. They also tend to isolate sound (both in and out) a lot, more than most closed headphones. And lastly, what model(s) do you like? Not only those earbuds, but also other headphones, if possible.
The ones I use are Ink'd, and I found an amazon link that sells them for 1/2 the actual price. I used to buy them full price from Skullcandy themselves, and both the amazon and official versions break down in the same amount of time. I'm not sure exactly what models I like, since I stick to earbuds because they're easier to carry and wear. I'm not heavily into head/earphones, so unfortunately all I can that I've liked brand-wise were Beats and Skullcandy. Preferably, I'd like IEM's, since I'm very used to the feel of them, and they block in/out sound. I've been looking at these, but I want other people's opinions.

Also be really careful when buying Pistons because there are many fakes out there (The link that I provided is a legit one). Also if you want them to last longer, I highly recommend getting some sort of case for them.
I'm looking for a set of headphones for general use, mainly gaming and electronic music (Such as Assemblage 23 and VNV Nation); and to be used in a Uni hall mainly, but maybe also in public (If it's not worth getting a set of earphones just for public use). Previous experience is limited to a set of Logitech S-220 speakers and a set of apple earphones. Budget is between £25-40, but can be pushed a bit higher if needed. Anyone recommend a set that fits that sort of criteria?
