im on a low budget. I already upgraded it from a GT 530. But indeed i need a better one. Even if everything else seems "good", its old. Which equals to slowness. Actually just upgrading to an SSD would change my experience with it. But then again, 17 years old and no job :p
It's just the graphics card that's holding you back, i'm still on ivy bridge, one generation newer than yours and it takes whatever i throw at it no problem. Old does't automatically mean bad.
What kind of cooling system do you have to get the 8350 so cold?
Thermal sensors on the 8350 are fucked so you won't get an accurate reading.
What kind of cooling system do you have to get the 8350 so cold?
Nothing reads 8350 temps correctly except Speedfan which seems to be accurate. AMD Overdrive shows Thermal Margin but that's the number of degrees you have to play with before the processor throttles itself or shuts itself off to avoid damage, not its temperature
That's pretty interesting. I just tested speedfan, HWmonitor, speccy and core temp, and all showed the exact same temp. Any idea of how much the temps might be over/under the temps that show?
Mine is probably closer to the 30's-40's. I use a hyper 212+ for a cooler. I've been running it for a couple years now and I haven't had any issues yet. As long as you have decent cooling it shoudln't be a problem.
bought some new parts: cpu, mobo and ram (DDR4, 2133)
Done a bit of an upgrade - added an SSD, GTX 970 and changed from the shitbox case it was in.
My laptop. Might replace the HDD with an SSD some day.
My old friend. Had this machine since late 2009. Only upgrades it's really had is the SSD and 750 Ti. (CPU clockspeed is actually 3.6GHz)
Main workstation at home: [t]http://i.imgur.com/eEUdAaP.png[/t] (CPU running a little hotter than usual because I'm rendering, but it usually hovers around 35-ish. [editline]29th February 2016[/editline] Probably gonna upgrade myself to 32GB RAM, soon-ish. The boost would be nice.
I have the 390 Sapphire Nitro 8gig Going to build something similar to yours, You love it? What would you have done different?
I am very sorry for being so late but I feel I must deliver. Yes, I love it, expensive but undoubtedly worth it. Runs most, if not all, of my games very smoothly at high settings. I say go for it.
8470W I got for $50 with a busted case. Put it in a 6470B with a busted board I got for free. SSD was a whopping $70 or so two years ago. $120 and I've even managed to OC' the card to 580/900. Now if I could just touch them volts.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/MEYGzrj.png[/t] Still rockin' hard, though I've been thinking of a small upgrade (doubling the RAM, maybe a new CPU). In hindsight, I should've waited for the 970, as it got released soon after putting this together :v: I can run most games just fine, also thanks to the low res of my screen

[t]http://i.imgur.com/X0w0myL.png[/t] Graphics card needs replacing.
Always make my friends nervous when they see the wires so close to the bottom fan.
Should I upgrade? I did some benchmarks to make sure that Im not bottlenecking my gpu but am not sure. cpu is 3.0ghz but I could overclock to 3.4ghz without a problem.
Finally finished my build in a SMA8. New monitors, custom sleeved cables, and more SSD's are on the list for upgrades. The two holes are because I didn't test fit the radiator. I have a new mid-plate to drill whenever I need to open it up again.
My S8 still looks like it's in pieces :v: I haven't done any cable management and the sides/top aren't on.
