...this fall. Mmm... slim ps3. The fat bitch is gone :D
Lol :v:
Where did Gabe go to?
To the nearest fastfood joint.
The only problem I've ever had with my PS3 is that while playing a game, if I hold the PS button and hit Quit Game, it gives three short beeps and then shuts down. Other than that, I like my PS3 a lot more than my 360.
The 360 does NOT even have RROD anymore.
Yes it does. I'm on my 7th 360 to die on me now. Which is why I bought a PS3, which hasn't even hiccuped once.
From what I remember sony fixes that for free... [editline]12:42AM[/editline] And which PS3 version do you have?
call sony up with that low of a failure rate they should replace it or at least know what exactly is wrong [editline]12:46AM[/editline] use this number 1800-345-SONY
do you repair it? Because microsoft is to much of a cheap business to actually REPLACE the old Xenon chip with the new Zephyr or Falcon chipsets. Opus and Valhalla chipsets are rumored. Xenon- 90nm CPU 90nm GPU Zephyr- 90nm CPU 90nm GPU (HDMI and cooling) Falcon- 65nm CPU 90nm GPU Falcon is the standard i think for the console now. Jasper is a bit weird though, it's been rumored and I haven't done any research since february '08 Jasper was 65nm CPU 65nm GPU Opus- 65nm CPU 90nm GPU but it's kindof a step back. Probably for refurbished systems Valhalla- 65nm CPU 65nm GPU. Requires less cooling, smaller chipset. Source: http://kotaku.com/356917/new-opus-and-valhalla-xbox-360-chipsets-coming-next i just gave a low-down of what it is. Sony is on a 65nm GPU (the RSX). The Cell Microprocessor is in 90nm flavor and 65 nm, and 45nm. I have no idea what's in the PS3.
...this fall. Mmm... slim ps3. The fat bitch is gone :D
the guy i responded to said "now that" they are cheaper to make. as in not this fall. now.
You're pissed because your product had hardware fault, this really doesn't make sony bad. People get broken PC parts all the time when they order them don't seem them screaming about it when it does break.
Well that sucks. :frown:
yeah man, i've had tons of DOA parts from newegg. Just get a reship from them. but it's a different deal with big companies. Newegg doesn't sizeup compared to sony or microsoft.
The 360 does NOT even have RROD anymore.
It does but with the newer ones theres a VERY low chance to get that. Sooo.. Basically the ps3 and xbox 360 have like the same failrate now. :smug: [editline]02:37PM[/editline]
You're pissed because your product had hardware fault, this really doesn't make sony bad. People get broken PC parts all the time when they order them don't seem them screaming about it when it does break.
Well, pc you can replace a part, console you have to send your console in and pay if you dont have warranty or just wait for it to get back, OR buy a new console.
Dude, PS3 costs are skyrocketing down now that it costs less to make them. Why do you need one, get a blu-ray for your comp and you'll be fine. The consoles are good if you have friends over... but hey, that's just my view.
Wait what... Skyrocketing down? I assume it is rocketing towards the sky while going down at the same time?
a skyrocket is a rocket inteded to go to the sky, as of such it has to go very fast. Point it downwards and it goes REALLY fast. PS3s break less often thant 360's. Not to say that PS3's are invinclible. just send it back to sony and they'll either fix it or replace it entierly. My ps3's boot file got corrupted but the ps3 has an in built failsafe where you rebot the system and hold down the power touchplate untill it beeps twice. one of the options repairs the ps3's firmware and keeps all your save data which is nice.
You're pissed because your product had hardware fault, this really doesn't make sony bad. Actually, to be honest I screamed when I ordered three 1Gb PC3200 corsair sticks and when one was found to be bad I had no choice but to send all three back to get the one replaced, meaning I could not play l4D for another three weeks.
You're pissed because your product had hardware fault, this really doesn't make sony bad. People get broken PC parts all the time when they order them don't seem them screaming about it when it does break.
Yes, im pissed off that my $500 machine broke. Silly me.
Watchmen was shit anyway.
Not to mention :P
not to mention
PS3 prices are skyrocketing just like theese:
First figure out which of the following is wrong with it: 3 yellow flashes then red = cpu failure 2 yellow flashed then red, gpu failure 2/3/4/5 yellow flashes, shutdown, power management / psu failure (in the same unit) alternating yellow/red flashing, hypervisor init failure / unrecoverable flash corruption 3 out of 4 of those problems are easily sortable by yourself.

Thanks, at least it's good to know what's wrong with it. I think it's a GPU failure
Oh. Thanks, at least it's good to know what's wrong with it.
PS3 failrate is only at 6%, 360 is somewhere in the 30% area
No, it just goes green for a while, then beeps yellow and goes red again
Do you know what makes my PS3 give those three short beeps and then shuts off?
ok lets see xbox 360=rrod, ps3=ylod, hmm what's left...WII...sucks to be you
