I don't even have a game system. All the game systems I've ever bought from Microsoft broke and they wouldn't help me out. All 3 xbox 360's that I purchased eventually broke and were out of warranty (even extended warranty). They are as worthless as fucking cd players.
I have always wanted to buy a PS3 since my step brother has one and he had it since it's initial launch with not one god damn problem. His 2 xbox 360's broke and the current one he has (surprisingly) is still running.
If they say buy another fucking PS3 then buy it because it is more than worth it. How many Xboxes are you willing to go through before you realize the truth?

CD players are worthless now, yet albums still come on CDs... I never see anyone with a portable CD player anymore now that digital players have been around and are cheap.
Anyways, I'm a proud 160GB PS3 owner, and I love it. Everything on it runs flawlessly except Ubuntu 8.10 (due to RAM limitations and GPU restrictions). It runs like a bloated turd. Xubuntu and YellowDog Linux both suck ass on it as well. I wish someone would hack OSX to work on it...
I bought my brother an Xbox 360 Arcade in Dec of 2007, thinking the RRoD fiasco had passed, but in just under a year, his xbox RRoD'd with an E17 error and one red light just after 8 months of normal use. YouTube failed me for fixes: I tried the towel trick, the nylon washers, an alternate X-bar, new thermal grease, and nothing worked. So i got him another one in Dec 2008, and it's still chugging along nicely.
When they make a slimmed-down version that can properly cool the chips, i might get one for myself, but not until they give the hardware a serious revision.
It's getting repaired at a "special" store. (still have to pay the 150, though)

Also funny story, my PS3 HDMI port fried itself on friday night, i was right on the phone to sony, got myself a new one coming on wednesday. would have been monday/tuesday, but i am working then.
Was no trouble at all, and even though i am out of warranty by over a year they were quite happy to send me a new one.

You don't have to own a console to know if it's good or not. I know the PS3 is a great console, I don't own one. I just don't feel like paying the money for one since there are only 3 games I really like on it.
