• Best way to get rid of thermal paste?

A Q-tip and nail polish remover worked fine for me.
i got my thermal paste off by scratching it off with a penny :v:

Above is probably the absolute best idea, will keep the surface as smooth and clean as possible. Be sure to apply the new paste ASAP and cleanly too, to ensure maximum efficiency.
I am telling you, Goo Gone or diluted Acetone and a Q-Tip, that shit will melt right off, even gets rid of the caked on factory applied thermal paste. Alcohol doesn't really do much except wet it down and then dry off so it still requires alot of effort on your part to get rid of all the paste, it doesn't actually break it down.

I decided to use Isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip. Seemed to have worked fine. Thanks
