"the cloud", dump it over to a computer with a Micro USB cable OR a USB OTG cable and a flashdrive.
Fuck this, £280 for an amazing bit of hardware, count me in. I just watched that Verge video.
It'll probably £500 here when it comes out I bet...
I guess I can always call up my relatives in the states for one if I feel the most extreme urge to get it later.
okay fuck this, im getting a nexus 4!

I don't like Tre. I never order my phones from carriers.

me neither, but they were the first carrier to put up the nexus 4

Yes because it's almost always going to be for full price all the time.

Have no idea what this means.

I just like the ease of having a card.
"Oh, you just started a backup? Let me put that exactly where it goes." It's just so much simpler.
I'm really not anti-cloud. I promise. I just don't think it's there yet.

I like getting the rebate with a new contract.
Yes, I'm one of those squares who actually sticks out a contract for the rebate.

Carriers provide the option to buy a phone unlocked, of course you would have to pay for it entirely. There are two prices, a subsidized cost and an unlocked cost. The subsidized cost is maybe about half off the unlocked price because you are getting locked into a 2 or 3 year contract. If you are buying unlocked from the carrier, it would cost the full price of the device, which varies on device. If a device sale price from the start is $649, it will probably stay the same until the carrier takes it off their availability where you can no longer buy it from the carrier or even get it on a contract. For an example, a GNexus on Telus was $649 (no longer on their site), even recently even though you can get it for less at places like Wind Mobile which runs for $399.

Cheapest for a Gnex in Canadia is $299 at Mobilicity.

Thanks for explaining something I already perfectly know.
I still would never buy a phone from carriers that I order from wherever for cheaper.

Before you go and buy a transformer please make sure you know what kinds of problems this device has and if you are okay with these problems.

I like SD-cards too, (if you haven't seen some of my rants), but the choice between a device with a sd-card slot, and one that isn't locked down nor raped by the manufacturers & carriers is tough.
And honestly, I'm tired of the Laissez faire regarding ROM's that manufacturers & carriers have going on.
Google REALLY needs to drop the hammer on that, forcing them to provide a more unified and more efficient Android experience.
Need to make some new sort of expandable flash storage which is fast!
Or just be decent enough to provide enough space or a micro SD slot.
i've grown attached to my S2 in the short time i've had it :( :( :(

Micro-SDXC UHS-II
Google have no excuse there, it just needs more devices supporting it.
To be honest, if I actually do get the Nexus 4, I'll probably be using Wind Mobile or something and have mobile data in general so 16GB internal will not kill me. I dunno, I may not get it until Christmas.

Until you use up 5GB get throttled to EDGE speeds and streaming any sort of content becomes a nightmare.

They can't. Many of the key OEMs have their own OS's that are just kinda there... waiting to be used at the first sign of Google acting like Microsoft.
I read a CNET article not long ago about it.

I'm really kinda stuck now.
I'd love to have a nexus device, but I'd also like a hybrid and expandable memory...

I'll wait until the reviews drop. I'll look at engadget and cnet before I make a move.

Haha. After how easy it was to tear apart Cnet's "fact check" on the iPad Mini and how blatant it is that they never know what they're talking about, I wouldn't really take anything they say as useful information. You should hope that Anandtech reviews it, so we'll get info on the screen and the inner workings of the device. Not some general consumer review basically saying "It's shiny, and I like it, and you should buy it".

It really depends on the writer. There are some reviewers I just cant take seriously, but most of their staff is pretty good.
I'll look at anandtech too. And Mobile Tech Reviews, because she's great.

I just loaded their site and right off the bat it's evident they have no idea what they're doing.

"Google Nexus 10 bests the iPad's screen"
Pretty amazing how they know that when all the info says is the resolution, that's quite literally the most simplistic judgement possible of how good a screen is. Can you link me any review there that's actually good?

the only site I remember off the top of my head that does half competent hardware reviews is anandtech - wait for their review of the 10 since they do some extensive screen tests iirc
I bet Google will do a 32GB Nexus 4 in a few months.
Or snatch up a used SGSII, because some people MIGHT be selling theirs :v:

i'll sell mine to you for £600 + vat
I bet Google will do a 32GB Nexus 4 in a few months.
And a HSPA+ 64GB Nexus 10
Ha. You guys are such hypocrites... everybody dismissed it and mocked me for saying Google knows quality.
I kinda wish it was a little bit more expensive though because everyone and there dog will have one now and I can't show off :(

I'm assuming you're getting the S3 because of its SD slot? I think that's the only feature at all that it holds over the Nexus 4, although it can be a very important one.

I can barely use 500mb a month let alone my 1GB data cap
