Used to have it at lowest, a bit above lowest. Used screen filter at 40% at night added onto the lowest stock brightness.
Have yet to see how long the phone lasts now with CM9 though.
Try RootDim, it actually dims the screen instead of adding black. This actually saves power.
Question for anyone reading or posting here. What brightness do you run your phones/tablets at? I've always just run em at full and they last a work/school day so I've never needed to lower it. But people always seem to complain about brightness killing their battery life so I was wondering what people set it to. I hear a lot of people saying they use autobrightness but it's not the best idea.
Custom autobrightness works extremely well for me.
The HTC desire Z wins my "worst phone I've ever used" award
Restarted for no reason all of today a long with it being so insanely slow, heavy, and having a loose hinge makes me want to throw it out the window
I MUCH preferred using my Nokia E63, except I'm hooked on certain android features so I can't leave
Run an RUU and start fresh, or S-OFF and flash a custom ROM with V6 supercharger to keep free RAM high.
I can't even turn off the auto brightness, it causes a flicking sometimes and it's annoying.
Would this be a decent enough case, or is it really a matter of Higher cost = More protection?

Alright I don't know if this is the right thread for this but I have been looking at getting a new phone. I have been looking at the Galaxy Nexus with Verizon is this a solid choice?
Or should I go with another phone with Verizon?

Sorry I meant the Galaxy Nexus.

Do you mean just the 'Galaxy Nexus'?
The Galaxy Nexus 2 is just a rumour at the moment.
EDIT: I swear the previous two posts weren't there when I last looked.

Yeah, I corrected myself earlier.

It'll be old in two months and the Verizon version doesn't get timely updates like the other ones. You'll get the updates, but not as fast as YAKJU HSPA models.

What would you recommend then?
What would you recommend then?
I'd recommend the galaxy S 3
-snip- clicked the wrong button.
I'd recommend the galaxy S 3
Verizon S3 has a locked bootloader. Not that it's a HUUGE deal because the stock firmware is pretty good, but it won't be getting updates any faster than the Nexus with it needing special radio files and Verizon's "testing".

It looks nice but I would like to keep the price around $100 because then I could get the phone for free with a two year upgrade.
I would like to root and reflash the firmware etc like I did on my Desire, but I just have a feeling I might need that warranty in the future...
(Or is it possible to revert to a 3 branded state without 3 or Samsung knowing any different?)

Unless there's a flash counter, you're fine.
Posting from my new N7, loving the smoothness of it donated to my S2.
Just bought a Nexus 7 to go with my Nexus phone.
Can you use play store apps from one account on multiple devices?

Didn't only like two people buy the padphone? Hopefully they fixed up all the things criticised about it because I don't remember it being reviewed too favourably.
I just found Sony Ericsson Arc S for a cheap price.
Which one should I get? Arc S or Xperia U?
In terms of processors, which one is the fastest?
Do you think that Sony will abandon the Arc S in terms of updates?
The Arc S is already abandoned. 4.0.4 but no Jellybean.
The Arc S is already abandoned. 4.0.4 but no Jellybean.
Okay. I'm a bit worried about the 8 GB built in memory though.
I think the Arc S is a better phone. The U is just "promised" to go to some form of 4.0 and it'll probably get dropped there too.
Wow, I just found Xperia Sola for about the same price as the U, only that it's 3.7 inches and has an SD Card slot. How did I miss that one?
Are you limited solely to Sony phones? Some sort of carrier deal or something?
Fuck. Tried to flash stock recovery so I can do an update using this guide:
http://www.tips4tab.com/how-to-restore-galaxy-note-10-1-wi-fi-n8010-with-n8010xxalgc-stock-firmware/
Now my tablet is a fucking showcase model. I can't even put it on standby without the fucking feature film looping on full brightness. :/
EDIT:
Fixed with German stock.
