I don't like some ToS, for an example Google has dibs on anything you upload/say/etc. so they can access my photos if I upload them anytime. Same with Dropbox, Drive, SkyDrive, Minus (I believe). My sdcard is my own thing where I basically govern, and my external hard drives. I kinda like the cloud but with no mobile data, and somewhat spotty WiFi at school, the cloud doesn't seem the best for me. I still store photos onto private folders on Minus and SkyDrive but at times I really don't care. I would probably upload photos onto G+ into a private folder as you can store an unlimited amount, which is really good.
Get the Google+ app and enable instant upload. It automatically uploads every picture and video you take to a special private album, unlimited storage. You can even tell it to upload over WiFi only.
Man, google are dumb as fuck for making the Nexus 4 have a max capacity of 16GB. I have 13GB in music alone, how the hell am I supposed to cope with 3GB for everything else? If they offered a 32GB option I would buy it in a heartbeat. Shame.

Like a gig of it but what if i need those other 12GB at some point?
Google Music lets you upload up to 20,000 songs, and the app can cache the songs you play most, so you have access to your entire library while connected, your favorites when you're not, and all without using nearly as much storage space. I love telling people about features Google has had that are exactly what they need/rave about wanting, it's like telling them the future is already here.
320kbps MP3s.
This is all I need, I don't even have headphones that are good enough to listen to FLACs, also Google Music streams at a maximum of 320kbps, if you upload FLACs they will automatically convert to 320MP3.

In other news, my Triumph recently evolved into a brick, so I went to see if VM would replace it:
Hello, I purchased a Motorola Triumph last year, and a couple weeks ago I picked it up to check for notifications and it wouldn't wake up, so I tried to boot it and that didn't work either. Finally I pulled the battery for a couple hours and put it back in and it still wouldn't boot. The charging LED didn't even come on when I plugged it in, so I ordered a new battery but that didn't fix it either, so it looks like my phone is truly dead. I re-activated my LG Rumor Touch that I got around 2010 so I still have a phone, but can I please get a replacement Triumph? It was a great phone while it lasted, but if this isn't possible then I'll just switch to the Nexus 4 on T-Mobile once it comes out.
The response:
According to our policy, we can only replace a phone if it is active on the account and if it still under warranty; unfortunately, your phone?s warranty expired on 7/19/2012. Due to the previously mentioned situation, we will not be able to send a replacement phone. In this case, what we recommend that you take a look at our new phones at http://www.virginmobileusa.com/shop/cell-phones/beyond-talk/ and you can take advantage of our deals and free shipping. About the fact that you want to use the Nexus 4 on T-Mobile, our phones are specially programmed to work only with Virgin Mobile. Even though the phone is unlocked, it will not be recognized by our network because each Virgin Mobile phone is registered in the system with a unique serial number. Therefore, you cannot use a T-Mobile phone with our service.
what

As I said before, I live somewhere that barely even gets basic cellular coverage let alone data.
lol really. in what situation would you need to pull out your other 12gb of music.
Let's say I only copy over about 2 GB of my 117 GB collection. If I'm in Snohomish (which has no reliable data signal to speak of), and I really want to listen to some Sufjan Stevens, I expect to be able to pull it up. But here's the thing, it's not in that 2 GB of music because I haven't been listening to him recently. What the fuck do I do now? This is why I have my iPod Classic. 160 GB. That's big enough to fit my entire collection for quite a few years (especially if I turn on "convert to 128kbps", I can put up with 128kbps if it means having everything)
In other news, my Triumph recently evolved into a brick, so I went to see if VM would replace it: The response: what
They must have misread and or pasted the wrong canned response. They're trying to say since they're CDMA the Nexus 4 won't work on their network I guess.
(especially if I turn on "convert to 128kbps", I can put up with 128kbps if it means having everything)
How horrifying, my worst nightmare. [editline]1st November 2012[/editline]
And you don't even have Wifi access anywhere you use your phone?
No. Streaming is not an option, end of.
How horrifying, my worst nightmare.
My only problem with it is it takes a long time to copy a song if I turn it on. But different people have different ears, so
The N4 will likely have around 11-12GB free space, the rest is system and stuff, as usual in 16GB phones. I'd be really fucking impressed if they'd manage to give you actual 16GB of free space.
You know how storage is, it's not even 16GB all together. It would be ~14-15GB in total. Add the OS on top of it and it would be 11-12GB free for all of your stuff.
People saying you won't listen to 16 GB at a time are missing the point. It's about having exactly what you're in the mood to listen to at any moment. Why shouldn't I have access to every song I own at any time? If the cloud is so great, why not make devices with no storage at all and stream the entire firmware off the cloud? Phones will just be terminals to a giant mainframe! It'll be the 70s again and IBM will finally have a market again for all those AS/400s.
people need to move over to spotify
Uh yeah, I can totally use spotify in Canada, and I totally have the mobile data and speeds to handle it.

I think it's silly to refuse to upgrade to a device you'd otherwise love to have on the basis that you'd fill it to the brim with media that you'll probably never even consume. Just my opinion though.
All I want is a phone with a 720p display (that isn't pentile), 32GB of storage, isn't hideous to look at, isn't horribly expensive, has good battery life, doesn't feel like it's made by fisher price and doesn't have a Beats™ By™ Dr™ Dre™ Beats™ logo on the back. Is that so hard?
Google music launches in the UK this month apparently, so you'll be able to store 20,000 songs on their servers and stream them. Would be neat if you could download playlists, then like it automatically swaps the downloaded songs so you have something new to listen to on the next days commute.
You can actually make playlists and swap them but you are going to have to precache them somehow (but if your sdcard/phone already has a copy of it, I think it doesn't redownload it for listenning because there's an option to only select on-device music which means any music you have on the device plus the ones you precached or something like that)
doesn't have a Beats™ By™ Dr™ Dre™ Beats™ logo on the back. Is that so hard?
Avoid HTC
Avoid HTC
That's exactly what I was referring to. Literally the only thing stopping me getting the One X is that tiny red logo.
HTC used to be so good. The Vivid has no Beats, plus a removable battery and MicroSD slot.
HTC used to be so good. The Vivid has no Beats, plus a removable battery and MicroSD slot.
4.5-inch 540x960 screen. Not good enough. If I'm gonna be splashing hundreds of pounds I want the best.

This is why I still use an mp3 player. I have 8gb of music and I'd love to have more. I listen on shuffle alot, because its nice to hear a bit of everything, not just the 2 gigs I listen to the most. And I still won't get a 16gb phone. Backing up is janky and there are just too many "what-if" scenarios.
And I thought everyone hated LG.
It fits what he wants.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11/01/initial-impressions-of-the-nexus-4-raising-the-bar-for-design-materials-and-build-quality/ Google, what are you doing? Google, stahp! I can't actually want this device any more than I do now! :v:
I'm sold. The Gnex looks so outdated and bland in that side-by-side picture with the N4. By the way, what's the difference between HSPA+ and LTE? Does that mean I won't be able to get the 4G connection in cities like I do with my Gnex?
I think I can like with a 16GB Nexus 4, I probably won't get it until Christmas and maybe then they will release a 32GB model? I mean, this is a maybe and if so I'd buy it right away.
It fits what he wants.
It's also likely forever stuck on Android 4.0.4. Stay the fuck away from LG unless it's a Nexus, that would be my recommendation.
