Didn't only like two people buy the padphone? Hopefully they fixed up all the things criticised about it because I don't remember it being reviewed too favourably.
Most of the reviews I read about it criticized it in a slightly negative way, but that was because it WAS a great idea.
It just missed the little extra to make it amazing and worthwhile to purchase.
Most of that was related to software though.
what's your budget?
Are you limited solely to Sony phones? Some sort of carrier deal or something?
A store in the city has a sale on Sony devices.

The problem with the Padfone was that it was too damn expensive. It was cheaper to just buy a separate phone and tablet.
Asking again because last time I asked no one seemed to know the answer:
Is there a way to rebind the "double-click the home button to launch S Voice" on the Galaxy SIII to launch a different app, like say, google voice search?
I just think S-voice is terrible. For instance, when I tell it to "Call Katherine Mobile" and it says "I could not find Catherine on your contacts list."
Her name is Katherine, with a 'K'.
And then I tell it "Google Search Apollo Thirteen" it waits like 20 fucking seconds to tell me that it could not find what i was trying to say and asks me if I would like to try searching the web for "Google Search Apology Teen"
Jesus I fucking hate that piece of shit

Maybe he likes Sony's Xperia line of phones, I'm loving them.

It's basically useless now, and with Jellybean it'll somehow be more useless than entirely useless with Google Now being available.

I've never found a single reason to buy one, and Bell and Telus here know nobody is buying them so we don't carry them.
They just accommodate to what I want in a phone, it may not be top of the line hardware wise but its adequate. Except maybe for the new Xperia T with its S4 Krait.

I know that there are plenty of alternatives available and that it's useless, I just want to know if it's possible to change the default of the Galaxy S3 "double click home to open S-Voice" to "double click home to open ______"

Oh I was just agreeing with you, not trying to disagree at all. I just couldn't really answer the question since I don't own and never will own an S3. I'll only ever get to use a stock one.

I like Sony...

I know you and your mini pro have been through a lot together. I'm just saying apart from marketable high megapixel camera sensors(they have a 16MP phone or something) Sony phones don't really have anything going for them, and they don't sell well.
now that google owns motorola, will the next nexus from google be a motorola phone!?
now that google owns motorola, will the next nexus from google be a motorola phone!?
They owned it before the Gnex came out, though it was only a few months before and Samsung was probably already making it before hand. The issue is Google likes using OLED displays and the dark UI is tailored to them, and Samsung is basically the supplier for OLED displays in any phones.

I've been thinking about LG for the next Nexus. If they do not touch the software in any shape or form, and use a Snapdragon AP8064 with one of their AH-IPS panels it could be a better Nexus than any previous one has.
would be neat to see how a motorola nexus would be like

One thing would be for sure is that it'd have a better radio than we've seen on all the previous ones. If there's one thing I love about Moto, RIM, and Nokia it's their radio quality.
I wish the next Nexus would be SOMETHING like the rumored Padfone 2. Great specs and somekind of easy cellphone+tablet connection.

Sorry to hear that.
Just got my Galaxy S3 I9305, bricked it on the first day.
Fortunately there is a single website that has the stock firmware, unfortunately hosted on hotfile.
I'm really impressed by it so far, 2GB RAM and a quad core oh god.
Thanks for ruining my wallet, Facepunch.

Money well spent.

Unless he drops it in the toilet.
Then it's money down the toilet. :v:
Actually, speaking of toilets, does anybody have personal experience with drying out a phone using rice after it's been submerged? If you got it working, did the phone corrode right away or did it last a long time afterward?
I got my first iPhone 3g covered in Gatorade (Top was cross-threaded, knocked it over in my sleep onto my phone) and it was toast.

Ah, that sucks. There was probably no hope, with the sugar and electrolytes. But I'm looking more for stories of people who were initially successful in using the rice method, and whether there were any long-term defects that showed later.
Anything I should get right away as far as apps for my S3? I already got the Facepunch App. That was number one. :v:
titanium backup (get root)
chrome
ES File Explorer or equivalent
QuickPic (because the stock gallery is awful)
Steam
RealCalc (great free scientific calc)
Pandora
imgur for android (image hosting from your phone)
AdAway (open soruce adblock software)
Barcode Scanner (ofc)
Steam
Useless unless you use direct friend chat. I only chat in group rooms, and they haven't implemented that yet :(
RealCalc (great free scientific calc)
I think that handyCalc is more powerful and flexible than RealCalc.
Also, check out Dropbox if you use it, Pocket (Formerly Read it Later, exactly what it says on the tin,) AirDroid (Allows you to remotely access your phone's storage over WiFi, and SleepTime alarm clock.(Uses phone sensors to detect when you're sleeping lightest and wakes you up during that time.)
