Nexus devices are first and foremost developer phones, and developers aren't making apps 16GB< in size.
That used to be true, but nowadays it seems like the Nexus family is made much more for the regular people. Still a go-to model line for developers, but also great for everyone else. There's even a built in timer and stopwatch in 4.2 already :v:
They're not at all marketed toward consumers, and I know for a fact that they don't sell well because of that.
Surely a consumer is just someone who buys a product wat
They're not at all marketed toward consumers, and I know for a fact that they don't sell well because of that.
Why would a Nexus device be better for development than any other device? The average developer will just be making apps. Only few tinker with the bootloader or operating system, besides, if you want to do that, there are plenty of other phones that also allow tinkering with these things, be it with a bit of hacking effort. If you're an app making developer and you want a pure Android experience, any phone/tablet with Cyanogenmod/AOKP support will do. If you're an OS tinkerer, any unlocked phone with either opensource or publicly available drivers will do. What does a nexus device add in developer experience besides the "feel"? And assuming Nexus devices don't have an added value for developers, there would be no development related reason to get a nexus phone. Therefore it would be useless to market nexus phones to developers.

You can't see if some new feature for apps put in say Android 4.2 works when you're running an HTC One X stuck on 4.1. If the emulator alone was good enough then they probably would have sold even fewer phones than they already do.
I'd download them but my ringtone is, and has been for years, the pokemon red/blue battle music :v:
My alarm used to be enter the nexus for 2 years, I have grown to hate it so much.
Agreed, I hate the HTC "new day" alarm, it makes me begin to panic when I hear it even if it's not being used as an alarm
Nothing can even compare to the default CyanogenMod alarm!

Granted, 4.2 will take a bit more than five days, but developing on my phone with Cyanogenmod might actually be better than AOSP, because of the extra features CM adds while remaining close to AOSP. Besides, not all nexus devices get updates immediately. The update to 4.1.2 on the GNexus was delayed by many carriers, and we have yet to see when the GNexus receives 4.2.
Last time I used that I crashed my fan, my chair, fell over Works great for waking up

No other carrier has a say in what goes on. The Gnex will get 4.2 when 4.2 actually exists on other consumer devices, which isn't until a week or two from now.
I used to love the alarm noises on the blackberrys, they were calming sounds such as the ocean, with rolling waves, gulls in the distance, a bit of rushing wind, and then you'd faintly hear a foghorn go off, then again slightly louder, then again and it'd slowly fade it into a repetitive beeping alarm noise, it was perfect, and the fact that RIM don't cheap out on the speakers made it nicer, (looking at you here HTC, my phone sounds fucking awful as do most modern phones)
This is my alarm sound, and it's the best alarm sound I've ever had: - Starts calmly - builds up for when you're stubborn to wake up - not obnoxious at first - gets obnoxious when you wait for too long It's brilliant.
How well does the photo sphere function work? I saw a video of it on G+ and it was honestly astonishing to see how well it captured out in front of Google's HQ.
Works amazingly good! I absolutely love it.
