So many aweful things :c
I really hate not having the feature to remove the battery.
It's really useful in case of rooting and if things go wrong.
But the Average Joe [sp]AKA immensely retarded people[/sp] would just get confused by that.
Same with SD-card slots.

I like Jelly Bean.

It's also useful for installing extended batteries.
So the free calling to USA phones from within GMail... How do I get that on my Nexus 7? I tried Google Voice but it defaults to my email as my number... Not sure how it works on a tablet.
Is it okay to ask here about firmware downgrading?
[editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
I wonder if I managed to corrupt the whole SD card... *sigh*
If it's android, ask us about anything
apart from if you've got your phone stuck up your bum or something, go see a doctor for that

I'm not sure if there's a built-in way to do it, but you can use the Talkatone app.

Well shit, the so called amazing and promising Nexus 4 looks kinda bad now...
Yeah well I'm trying to use ADB to push the firmware to the phone's SD card (as seen above).
After the failure I moved some files away from the SD card and tried again but I believe it's stuck.
It's been half an hour and nothing has happened.
Did I do a mistake when I accidentally left the phone in disk drive mode?
If I open Windows Explorer the window looks like this
[t]http://i.imgur.com/TPZn2.png[/t]
Both my drives C: and D: should appear there as well as other things but now it's just loading forever.
[editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
I guess it was just Windows acting up. I plugged out the phone but the problem persisted, my USB devices stopped working so I had to force shut my PC.
Now everyhting seems to work so I'm trying this again.
[editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
holy crap that was fast
[editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
rebooting now

This is so petty and one of the stupidest things I've ever read.
Finally getting data with Verizon. S3 is the best choice, correct?
Well shit, the so called amazing and promising Nexus 4 looks kinda bad now...
Still too soon to judge anything IMO.
As long as everything inside works as intended, I seriously don't care if they used tape to hold this or that in place or if the battery is bolted or not. Impact zones might be a bit worrying though.
I'll wait until the android police full review to judge it
They say that the build quality is amazing and that is a good sign

Thing is, they might only be judging the outside, which DOES look rather perfect right now, except for the glass that some might dislike.
Alright guys, I got this far:

After that the phone restarted itself. The guide I'm using says it should check checksums if hboot was installed correctly but it doesn't say anything.
To be fair, it isn't even the final revision, all of the reviews you've seen so far on the Nexus 4 are basically off pre-released test models for first looks reviews. I'm guessing the build quality and what's under everything is much better when it actually gets released next week.
Okay I did the thing different way but now I'm stuck at
./flash_image recovery recovery.img
It's says "not found".
I remember doing this
adb push recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-vision.img /data/local/tmp/recovery.img
as the guide said.
The ROM I gave you is a leaked version of stock ICS, so it shouldn't have any problems. Generally, only third party ICS ROMs have problems, because the developers can't use closed source drivers.
Thanks for that, btw. Working great.

You might want to think about going to the device specific forum, this shit is flying over my head and there really should be a one-click to do it for you...
I think I got it right. I'm not going to bother you guys anymore.
So I just got a galaxy S3. Any recommendations on what I should put on it?

At this point I doubt there'd be any revisions to the hardware or design. They would have to be manufacturing for a few weeks beforehand to be ready for general demand I think..
I think I got it right. I'm not going to bother you guys anymore.
If you can go to hboot and it shows something like ENG S-OFF or SHIP PVT S-OFF then you're done.

I'm pulling this out of my ass, but the units given to reviewers might not be release quality yet. So the final versions might have minor tweaks.
Edit: any by minor I mean little things inside the device. The outside is likely 100% final for a while now.
chrome run like shit for some reason compared to the AOSP browser, no idea why people love it so much on mobile (apart from the bookmark sync which is fucking amazing)
Google seems confident enough in it that their tablets have it as the browser, so their standards obviously aren't very high with regards to how well a browser should run.
people over at something awful have no shortage of problems with the Verge on chrome for android
it works fine on any other browser
chrome run like shit for some reason compared to the AOSP browser, no idea why people love it so much on mobile (apart from the bookmark sync which is fucking amazing)
I prefer its interface to AOSP Browser, the sync is better than in Browser too. But I agree that the performance can get pretty fucked up at times. Although the latest update made that a bit faster and smoother, it still needs tons of work.

I mean the device that does get released may be completely different than what we have seen so far, that could be possible.
edit: I mean how the insides look like
