You called?
The bootloader unlock status is No. What do now?
Well you blame your carrier. Then buy another phone preferably not from a carrier.
I still can't get it round my head why the desire z runs an 800mhz processor but android 2.3.3
It can't keep up with it, it takes way too long to rotate the screen when you flip the keyboard round, and if you begin typing too quickly it autocapitilizes the second letter aswell as the first so messages look like "HEy" and you look stupid :v:
Fucking amazing keyboard though, on the upside
I've had the Z for about a year and a half now and to be honest, it does show its age a bit. However, I can still run Android 4.1.2 without any major problems. With a 1.5 GHz overclock, yes, and some tweaking, but still, it's not really that bad.

Please teach me your ways

I forgot to mention I have a specifically faulty model in that it vibrates really loud, nothing terrible but it's kind of funny when people look at me like "wtf" in public and all you can hear is "BBBBBBBBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"

Uh the ROM isn't Rogers ICS, it's American ICS...
Rogers was taking too long...

Same here, really. Even when the fucker's on vibrate, everyone in the room can hear it.
As for ROMs and all that, I'm currently on flinny's nightly builds, which is basically CyanogenMod 10 with some tweaks: www.flinny.org Didn't really modify anything myself, other than the mentioned OC and memory tweaks (which are built into the ROM itself, so it's just a couple of things to turn on/off/modify).

The bundled clock app force closes on me with that, but fuck that there's plenty on Google Play :v:

It doesn't matter. Rogers set your bootloader to be permanently locked.
Works fine for me, though. Pure luck, I guess.

Damn it Rogers, okay what do now? So, now I cannot unlock the bootloader no matter what or can I carrier unlock the phone and get it working?

Just stare at them without blinking.

Maybe smile slightly.

No, carrier unlocking won't change it. Your phone will have a locked bootloader until the end of time.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Well, I guess I'm stuck with Sony's ICS and I will never touch the awesomeness of CM10...
...and other ROMs, and BackTrack...
I blame Rogers, Fuck you Rogers.

I once did that at a bus stop.
The 30-something lady beside me took 2 steps away from me and had a horrified look on her face.
So a colleague told me today that his HTC Desire Z was the best phone he ever used. That it's fast and awesome and everything.
I pulled out my S2 and showed it to him a little, his jaw fell to the ground and he froze. I think I ruined his mood for the rest of his life.
its funny because my friend did the same with my nexus s and his s2
really makes u think

Caveat emptor. You're the one using Rogers.

Rogers, never again.
You should switch to Chatr :v:
I can't seem to get the android sdk to install, it always says I don't have the JDK installed but I know I do. Anyone know a fix to this?
Make sure you have the 32 bit version of the JDK installed. It won't work with 64 bit. I made the same mistake too.

Its amazing how you can extend the life of a phone by rooting it isn't it?
Wow, you overclocked it that much? I should do that, but I have to flash drivers and stuff

To be fair, hardware has kind of stagnated for a bit. We aren't releasing phones that jump bounds over the last generation as frequently as we used to.
Does anyone have any information about Spotify corrupting SD cards? I am wondering if its something in particular that is screwing it up.. or its just spotify (or the fact the SD card is now 5 years old)

True. But still, having 2 year old phones running AOSP 4.1.2 is pretty nice.

I played with a store model while waiting for their Note II to update (so that I could check side-by-side apps), and it was a fucking mess. There were like 5 apps spamming the notifications, a bunch of SMS sending viruses. Ugh. And it had those stupid plastic straps too. :I

Android running better and better after each update helps too :P
