Then why are we lying to kids?
That's not a lie, "omnivore" means "all-eater" - hedgehogs eat everything
Pretty sure I have alot of space. What do I do if the superuser is broken?
Bump [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] Gonna add more info to that. I've been looking around and appareantly I am supposed to 'flash my SuperSU'. No idea what that is or how you do it though
Early users being beta testers is pretty much an universally accepted fact. However Nexus 4 not making it to AOSP is concerning - while it's obvious that Google is shifting the Nexus series from developer devices to actual consumer products, I was really hoping that they wouldn't do this. Also I found the perfect saying to describe Android, "Jack of all trades, master of none"
Nexus 4 not going to AOSP is apparently because Qualcomm suck hamburgers and don't want their stuff open-sourced, I'm sure Google would've gone for a different SoC if there was anything better coming up
That's not a lie, "omnivore" means "all-eater" - hedgehogs eat everything
I was hinting at the fact that in most books for kids, you ONLY see hedgehogs eat apples. [editline]14th November 2012[/editline]
Nexus 4 not going to AOSP is apparently because Qualcomm suck hamburgers and don't want their stuff open-sourced, I'm sure Google would've gone for a different SoC if there was anything better coming up
Surely Google could've seen this coming earlier, not after the fucking phone release. Which makes me think that it WILL get AOSP support, but there's something in the way right now which Google IS aiming to fix.
Nexus 4 not going to AOSP is apparently because Qualcomm suck hamburgers and don't want their stuff open-sourced, I'm sure Google would've gone for a different SoC if there was anything better coming up
I'd laugh if Google resorts to buying above 50% of stocks in Qualcomm just to get them to co-orporate. They better remember to pimphand Samsung too for not helping CM devs with kernel optimizations. "Oh, so you DON'T wanna dish out the source code, well then we'd just have to ask your investors how many zeros they'd like transferred to their bank account."
I don't even know where to check, but is Nexus 10 in AOSP?
Is there a recommended Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean ROM? [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] I checked out CM10, but it's still in daily and there is no stable version.
Does the S3 have the most powerful processor on the market yet? I'm looking for a phone to play games on.
While we're at it, has/is there any attempts at porting Android to the Exynos based Samsung Chromebook? There's already WIP on Linux itself.
Does the S3 have the most powerful processor in the market yet?
Well it's ONE of them.
Is there a download of the default "loading" spinny graphic anywhere
You mean this? https://dl.dropbox.com/u/897064/android_installing_icons.rar
I don't even know where to check, but is Nexus 10 in AOSP?
Last I heard the N10 is in AOSP, a Exynos of all things. I would bet the N4 will appear soon.
I've re-rooted using the .zip way instead. All other things that require root works except this. Why?
So apparently someone I follow for photography got their hands on a N4 weeks ago and said that the camera was slightly better than the S3.
I consult with Android for their mobile photography apps and user experience, so I get most devices early. I am loving the camera so far. Much better stock experience then all previous generations. It takes better photos that most other devices, although only slightly better then the SIII...which is a heck of a camera. After 5 days with the device, the Android team already has a page full of fixes or recommendations from myself. Long story short, I am very happy to use the Nexus 4.
https://plus.google.com/113455290791279442483/posts/h66QgKcvJBa
I just heard the the American version of the SGSIII has a snapdragon 4 dual core processor with 2 gb's of ram while the international has a exanos 1.4 ghz quad core processor with only 1 gb's of ram. Which one is better performance wise? Should I get a Note 2 instead?
Last I heard the N10 is in AOSP, a Exynos of all things. I would bet the N4 will appear soon.
Exactly what I was coming at. If an Exynos device is in AOSP, the Nexus 4 has to be. [editline]14th November 2012[/editline]
Is there a recommended Galaxy S2 Jelly Bean ROM? [editline]14th November 2012[/editline] I checked out CM10, but it's still in daily and there is no stable version.
CM10 is your best bet, there's no Stable 4.1 based ROM for the S2 at the moment.
Exactly what I was coming at. If an Exynos device is in AOSP, the Nexus 4 has to be.
Exynos 4 sources are still broken. Exynos 5 sources are well up to date and online because it's in the nexus 10.
and this Google Voice is broken in Android 4.2 http://www.androidcentral.com/users-report-serious-crash-google-voice-android-42 add those to Nexus 4 not being in AOSP with no guarantee it's going to get to AOSP, Nexus devices sold out after single minutes, Nexus S and XOOM dying... Go on Ezhik, say it, I'll allow it this time.
that google voice complaint isn't exclusive to 4.2, its broken on 4.1.2 as well :v: Its a bug within the app itself rather than 4.2 Oh, and it was fixed
This double top nav bar thing is awful on 4.2. Trying to use my nexus 7 in portrait mode and check notification as someone who is right handed is the worst whose idea was this. They also made the icons at the bottom smaller so it looks really odd now.
You mean this? https://dl.dropbox.com/u/897064/android_installing_icons.rar
No, the other one, the one that's just a circle
Does the S3 have the most powerful processor on the market yet? I'm looking for a phone to play games on.
No not anymore. If you want a phone primarily for gaming you should be buying an iPhone. Best graphics chips, and the most attention from game developers.

Only reason they got so much bigger was to fit larger batteries and in the case of AMOLED displays, to accommodate higher resolutions. I've gamed on an iPhone 5 and yes you do get some extra screen area with something like an S3, it's not as good for gaming outside emulators. So really the deciding factor would be what he'll be playing. If he wants to emulate stuff don't bother buying an iPhone because the App Store doesn't have any.

Only "native" smartphone games = iPhone. And if both then find the balance that suits one best and pick the one that fits the preferred requirements best.
So, only emulators = Android. Only "native" smartphone games = iPhone. And if both then find the balance that suits one best and pick the one that fits the preferred requirements best.
Nah if it's both then Android. iOS literally has ZERO emulators from what I can see. You can get ones from Cydia, but there isn't an iOS 6 jailbreak in sight. Definitely an advantage for Android, because even if Google pulled em from Google Play people could just install the APKs.
So Fido just got a new smartphone. Guess what it is. The S3? Nope. The One X? Nope! The fucking "Sony Xperia Go". What the hell is that?

Maybe Nintendo or some other company yelled at Google.
