T is apparently pretty decent, no idea if TL is too different, although I think the main difference there is LTE for America? Official JB update coming next year though, so that sucks.
T also has great modding support thanks to a wise selection of HW components. (For example a CM10 version was done in about 2 weeks with all important things working, and already has CM10 Stable)
Excellent, that's exactly what I needed to know. She doesn't rally care about updates, but at least she'll be on track to get JB.
Looks like a nice flagship for Sony, too. Cnet had good things to say.

Looking at a gsmarena comparison, the only difference seems to be LTE. Also the camera was kind of meh on release (still talking about T here), but Sony already released some updates that improved it.
That's a samsung function as I recall; one of the plethora of irksome idiosyncrasies that they put into fucking touchwiz. Makes me glad I'm running CM.
I've noticed it on stock 4.2 on my Nexus 7 twice today.
It's pretty annoying.
Nah the issue with LTE is that you need to support so many bands to use it. An LTE world phone is impossible really. Google wants to make one phone, just one, so LTE is out the question at the moment.
So, apparently it's a worldwide LTE chip, according to this:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11/16/teardown-of-nexus-4-finds-world-band-4g-lte-chip-that-you-probably-cant-use/
Wouldn't that make it easy to make a worldwide LTE version? (I have zero knowledge about this)

No. It supports all currently operating networks. There are lots that will be launching on frequencies that it doesn't support.
Does anyone happen to have the same problem as me, such that when you receive a picture/multimedia message without an internet connection on, you cannot load the message even when you turn internet connectivity back on? I tried searching for a solution, but the top one I found was "yes"
Running 2.3.6 on samsung aviator
Yup, MMS is the worst protocol ever. Everyone I know has problems with it.
Xperia T - the Bond Phone.
nooooooooooooooo
can't stand it, though it did feel a little bit smoother than stock last time I tried it, but this was with touchwiz on android 2.3 and early stock ICS so it might be different now
[editline]17th November 2012[/editline]
that said I've only used touchwiz 2011 so take my rantings with a pinch of salt x
I personally can't stand Touchwiz, it makes Android feel too bloated for me. I always flash a stock android rom over any phone that has Touchwiz preinstalled.

Just try not to buy Carrier locked, they lock the bootloader like assholes.

Sense 3.6 erry day. Fuck the police.
So none of the Barclays apps work if you have a rooted phone, and all the workarounds that I've tried (involving either restricting its permissions (which I wasted £3 on) or temporarily unrooting) don't work just because I'm using cyanogenmod. God fucking damnit, guess I'm waiting for the Nexus 4 before using them then
I wonder if anybody would teamview my PC and root my desire Z (with me doing the plugging and unplugging and whatnot)
Just gotta be careful that they don't fuck up my PC..
[editline]16th November 2012[/editline]
I am that incapable.
I used to have a desire Z, do you want it S-OFF?
I have rooted my HTC One S. However, it is still running the preinstalled ROM. It asked me to update to a newer version (I am currently on 4.0.3), however from what I understand this does not work (and infact it did not). How can I update? Do I have to install a custom rom? If so, what is a good rom for a beginner (sort of like how Ubuntu is usually baby's first Linux)?
I think TouchWiz looks good, and yet it runs better than fucking Sense.
I've tried Apex and Nova and yet I still prefer TouchWiz.

GO Launcher Ex has the best features but unfortunately the devs have bloated it and unoptimised it recently.
For some reason, when I ran Nova a while ago it was heaps laggy and terrible
I'm currently using Nova and it's pretty good. It's almost always smooth and I got the pro version for letting keep a quarter. I used to use Go all the time but it started to lag and I hated somethings about it.

You can use a root explorer to grab the apk file under data/app-private and put it on your Nexus 7 (pretty sure you have one). It works fine, I use it all the time.
I know it's not as portable as your phone but it's better than nothing. :)

just testing the new swipe keyboard. It's pretty freaking neat!
typing is so much fate now, its crazy.

but apparently not as acute
Yes as long as both devices are rooted and using titanium backup, you can merge your data from one device to the next.

Swype is the best because I can still type when I'll drink! I meal when I'm drink. I mean when I'm drunk
Hey my phones camera is 4mm while the GNexus is 3mm. Does this mean mine is better because my friend just sent me photos of a worksheet and God it looks bad. Checked iso and such too. The compression is about the same.

It depends. Larger means it can capture more light. Are you talking about the sensor or the aperture though? Larger sensor is definitely better quality, but larger aperture just means it has more depth of field.

Actually the larger the aperture the "shorter" the depth of field therefore being shallow. The smaller the aperture (f/11) the longer the depth of field. Search up some photography terminology man. Also I'm talking about sensor size so it means that mine captures more light (yay Sony) and is probably better overall.
