I feel the need to fuck with something. 3rd party system apps I should download?
Systune is nice, it lets you do all kinds of fun things like renice (prioritize) processes. Try setting your launcher to something low (like -10) and see if it's any faster. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dev.sci.systune ES file explorer and task manager are always great, and task manager with root access lets you disable startup items, while file explorer lets you uninstall system apps and browse every byte of accessible storage on all partitions.
Android doesn't need a task manager. I prefer Solid Explorer.
Android doesn't need a task manager. I prefer Solid Explorer.
Well it doesn't need one because it comes with one. But like he said, some that allow root access functions can do more than the built in one.
Android doesn't need a task manager. Not to mention it's got lots of other features besides just being a task manager/startup disabler. That being said it's not something I open every day or anything. That would be the ONLY reason why I would have a Task Manager on top of the existing one on Android. I have one and I've disabled all but 3 apps for start up, sped up phone from a 5 minute boot time to a mere 45-ish seconds.
What kind of speeds are other people seeing with verizon 4g? I have an unlimited data plan from a few years ago and I just got a droid incredible 4g and according to the speedtest app I got 37mbps I almost cant believe it. I repeated the test several times and it never fell below 25mbps. So now I have unlimited superfast internet I can see why carriers got rid of these plans Oh and if anyone needs help rooting a droid incredible 4g I can help them. It isn't very straightforward but it's worth it for the roms that are out for it makes it a whole new phone

My friends S3 on Rogers LTE can only get like 25Mbps down all the time. Probably throttled a bit.

Best is $30/6GB or $50/10GB.
Fucking hell, that's like 10 times faster than my home Internet. :suicide:

In a mostly rural state though, and I'm using a Galaxy Nexus which kinda has ass radios. Still better than EVDO 300 Kbps though. :v:
I believe AT&T can only do a max of around 60-70 mbit. [editline]19th November 2012[/editline] God, 4.2 is an unmitigated disaster. What the fuck was Google trying to do?
I believe AT&T can only do a max of around 60-70 mbit. [editline]19th November 2012[/editline] God, 4.2 is an unmitigated disaster. What the fuck was Google trying to do?
They're going back to the pre 4.0 quality days! Also AT&T's max theoretical is 75Mbit on 700/AWS. If they have 2600MHz they can hit 150Mbit.
Yeah, but in practice they can only hit a max of around 70 Mbit, and that's in ideal situations.
Oh you meant practical. I've never seen any that high(my personal best is 54Mbit downstream 32Mbit upstream). Maybe ones done on the networks when they first came out. But even beside a tower at 2600MHz it'd be difficult to get that high.
God, 4.2 is an unmitigated disaster. What the fuck was Google trying to do?
I guess I'm sticking with 4.1 then
I guess I'm sticking with 4.1 then
Same. CM10 hasn't been updated to 4.2 so it's all good. Did they remove the TV lock effect from 4.2?
The TV lock effect wasn't in my phone's stock ROM when I turned my screen off for the first time since flashing CM10 my brain didn't register what exactly happened right away and I thought I broke the hardware for a second
4.2 was kinda rushed like Honeycomb.
I just installed Eclipse tonight on my razr. So far it seems really good, any other opinions?
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11/19/new-app-todoist-arrives-on-android-monthly-subscription-fee-included/ meh, I don't like subscriptions in general.
Thinking of getting the following: Samsung 3.6-Inch Galaxy Player Google Nexus 7 Tablet (16 GB) Nexus 4 Phone They any good?
Thinking of getting the following: Samsung 3.6-Inch Galaxy Player Google Nexus 7 Tablet (16 GB) Nexus 4 Phone They any good?
..Why are you getting a galaxy player alongside the Nexus 7 and 4?
Thinking of getting the following: Samsung 3.6-Inch Galaxy Player Google Nexus 7 Tablet (16 GB) Nexus 4 Phone They any good?
Nexus devices are the best android devices on the market Get a nexus 4 if you need a phone and get a nexus 7 if you need a tablet
..Why are you getting a galaxy player alongside the Nexus 7 and 4?
Something more portable than a tablet that I can use as a separate device for music so I don't drain my phone battery.
Nothing's more fun than revamping your homescreen when you can't get sleep. [t]http://i.imgur.com/pH6qD.png[/t] There's so much wasted space, though. I wonder what I could put in there.
I just installed Eclipse tonight on my razr. So far it seems really good, any other opinions?
You should stick around. I'm thinking about flashing Eclipse weekend after next and I've got questions.
How do you brick an HTC device? So far, I've flashed a HTC One X boot.img and a custom ROM on my EVO 4G LTE. [sp]I want a new EVO, I've had too many issues with my current EVO[/sp]
There's so much wasted space, though. I wonder what I could put in there.
a picture would be my recommendation
