I sold my SGS3 today and bought a Nexus 4  It's so sexy
Have fun with no local storage or Wolfson audio
are you insane
As long as the SGS3 is rooted and not one of the neutered US carrier versions, then he's gone fucking mad.
As long as the SGS3 is rooted and not one of the neutered US carrier versions, then he's gone fucking mad.
What's with the nexus 4 hate around here?
What's with the nexus 4 hate around here?
The SGS3 IS just generally better, except price and "factory" software updates. So if one already owns a SGS3 it would be daft to go for a Nexus 4, unless you're either too squeamish or too stupid to fix the bad software things.
What's with the nexus 4 hate around here?
16gb ain't gonna let you put a lot of things in it deducting OS = 14gb+- maybe?
I wouldn't say there was any nexus 4 hate here it's a great phone, just not worth selling a already high end phone for.
What's with the nexus 4 hate around here?
it's not so much hating on Nexus 4 (which is incredible for its retail price); I just think the Galaxy S3 is the best phone in the world, especially if you already have one and it's the only flagship with a MicroSD; all other manufacturers have apparently drunk the Google koolaid and dropped it
but GUUYS you get AOSP updates!11 totally worth the bad camera, lack of storage and lte (but seriously, while nexus 4 is a nice phone, galaxy s3 is better)
I only get 180MB on my phone plan thanks to Australia so I don't really give a fuck about LTE. Camera, no storage etc are huge deterrents to me though
Worse screen and internals on the S3. Although it's hard to say exactly how much better the Nexus 4 is in practice vs what it should be in an optimal situation since it still throttles itself due to heat.

Although it's hard to say exactly how much better the Nexus 4 is in practice vs what it should be in an optimal situation since it still throttles itself due to heat.
Plus the unfortunate lack of calibration on the screen. Thankfully I rarely do anything that would cause a phone to being cooking and the screen is still miles better than anything I've used, all LTE carriers charge an arm and a leg, and I have no use for mass storage on my phone, so none of the N4's generally regarded "major" quirks bother me. However, I've heard the earpiece randomly emits a faint noise on some units even when not on call, so I hope mine doesn't do that or that that's fixed with the next production run that will comprise backorder units. The lack of USB OTG and general polish on 4.2 as well as reports of a relatively insensitive touchscreen also irk me, but all of those might be fixable with additional development and none are particularly worrisome. [editline]22nd November 2012[/editline] Sadly "you get what you pay for" comes to mind here.
Did you manage to order one?
Yeah, 16 GB, confirmed backordered (limbo level 3 "betrayed"), ETA 2 weeks.
Can't wait for cm10.1 The stuff they've added on looks really cool
are you insane
Clearly he is.
Yeah, 16 GB, confirmed backordered (limbo level 3 "betrayed"), ETA 2 weeks.
You're lucky! I didn't even manage to order one despite being on the store at almost the time it was activated by Google. I'll probably have to wait longer than 3 weeks and the delivery won't be free. :(
As long as the SGS3 is rooted and not one of the neutered US carrier versions, then he's gone fucking mad.
It was the AT&T Version...
Nice work Doritos_Man, I don't think anyone managed to get Android thread so mad before :v: Congrats on the N4, I'm seriously jealous. Mine's coming... slowly... next year... fuck.

I don't care about the Media aspects all that much.
Doritos man I like to imagine you as gigantic dorito sitting at a desk wearing sunglasses

I would never choose a nexus 4 above a galaxy s III. you know my grudge against LG. by the way I'm trying out SwiftKey on my tablet. It seems pretty nice but I'll have to get used to it. I'm currently on the trial. should I buy it? I've gotten a a bit sick of swype. in landscape the typing might just be amazing on a ten inch tablet. Haha, you can tell I'm trying it out by the incoherent post I'm writing! This seems faster than swype btw.

I am now over my mobile phone hype from the last few weeks, and after reassesing the situation, for christmas I may just get my dads old iPhone 4 and then a few useful gifts (new mic and headphones) and get a phone later on hmmm, I know this is the android thread and the answer is obvious, but an unlocked S3 is fucking expensive [editline]22nd November 2012[/editline] waht do
sell iphone 4 add money buy S3 ? or nexus?
sell iphone 4 add money buy S3 ? or nexus?
But then why doesn't he just sell his own phone instead of giving it to me to sell :v:
But then why doesn't he just sell his own phone instead of giving it to me to sell :v:
Because he doesn't know that you can still sell an iPhone 4 for a decent price?
A heads up for any Sprint customers, the Galaxy S III is on sale for $50 today. I just upgraded.
Is the Droid DNA any good? The specs look pretty promising but I'm not sure. (I'm on verizon)
It's VERY good
