lost my ipod touch 4g, so I'm buying an LG ally from a friend for $10 which i'm really excited about because it does everything my iPod could do, and has a GPS chip in it, and expandable memory which was always something that I wanted in the iPod. Though it does lack a front camera so I won't be skyping, but thats not a big deal at all
you should be able to put it into USB storage mode and copy over whatever you need
It doesn't let me. It makes the "boop boop" noise but nothing else happens.
Maybe it's the cable I'm using? I dunno.

Still waiting for a source :v:
did you get a USB storage notification on your phone
Not at all.
Not at all.
that's really weird
go poke around in your phone's settings
also do the usual shit with the computer, you know, check another USB port, see if the same one works with a flash drive, that sort of thing

I have a feeling it might be charge only...

My Nook is recognizing it as a charger.
God damnit.
Get a new cable and try again. If not, time to warranty.
What do you mean? The biggest thing the iPad has over Android tablets is that it uses the real estate properly. Go load up the twitter app on an Android tablet and on any iPad and then we can discuss wasted space. The only thing it really does worse on is black bars in videos and less icons per homescreen.
Homescreen. There's like 4 apps in a row, while it could fit 10.

I've set it up like that with jailbreak tweaks before, and it looks less appealing to me on a tablet. Blocks my beautiful backgrounds and it sorta makes it harder for me to pick out an app instantly. It honestly bothers me even more so with Android, with icons being whatever shape and size the developer wants. It looks like a jumbled mess.

Certain cables won't work for USB mounting. I know my phone ones do, but the ones for my Creative WP-300 and WP-450 don't. They just charge.

Such beauty.
So lets say I finally root/install CM9.1 on my N7000, if something breaks with the phone down the line is there any way for me to reset to factory/standard ROM to be able to send it in for repairs?

Yes.

sadly that's not even close to xda bad
this at least has some consistency and doesn't use low-res images
And if it's an issue that prevents the phone from booting/turning on at all then I'm fucked, yes?
sadly that's not even close to xda bad

All the large characters/icons except for the microphone and delete button aren't antialiased, while everything else is
And if it's an issue that prevents the phone from booting/turning on at all then I'm fucked, yes?
Preventing the phone from booting and preventing it from turning on are two different things. You have 3 layers of operability: Android, the recovery environment, and and fastboot/download mode. If you make a bad config change or break a system file that prevents you from getting into android, you can re-flash from recovery. If you somehow corrupt (or install the wrong) recovery, you can fix it with download mode. If you zero-fill all the NAND on the device, see if you can send it in for repair/replacement and hope for the best.
And if it's an issue that prevents the phone from booting/turning on at all then I'm fucked, yes?
If it doesn't boot it's most likely a hardware issue, which really is the best issue you can have with a rooted/non-vanilla device because they can't check for any modifications that way.
For those who haven't got one yet

Is there a droid browser that hides the status bar? I thought xscope was supposed to but it doesn't and the ad blocker doesn't block youtube ads
Anybody got the C-pen?
I know realistically it's not worth it, but I might just get it for those occasional moments when I get into a match of draw something, or I want to play a touchscreen oriented game like bad piggies
[editline]27th November 2012[/editline]
Providing I can get it cheap enough to make it worth it

Dolphin Browser.
Still better than touchwiz.
You say this a lot but it's the only OEM UI that has both functionality and performance.
Nature UX devices are the only Android phones I've ever seen with good, fluid animations, even including Nexus devices. The bland left and right shift on stock Android homescreens doesn't feel as fluid or natural as WPX, iOS, or Nature UX, even on a device that does get it running ~60fps. It was better on 2.3 with the bounceback on homescreens.

You can get them super cheap online or go to those Asian cell phone stores. You can get them for around $1.
