My digitizer sometimes messes up when it's under 0°C, but all I have to do is lock and unlock and that fixes it. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline] So, Canadians, who's the best cell provider? The best plan I've found is with Bell: $53.00 /mo. - 200 voice minutes - 500 MB data Rogers and Telus seem to give way less data for under $55.
Yeah Bells plan seems like the best with most data if that's what you need.
Man, I don't know how the US and Canada get away with charging such abhorrent prices for data. Up until recently I was paying only $15 CAD for 250min, unlimited texts and unlimited data. It'll be £12 now for unlimited, or £10 for 1GB with tethering. I feel for you guys.
How likely is it to turn off while playing 3D games? Surely someone would report the turning off already during normal use, but it seems that the only things that "trigger" this are benchmarks. I'm following a lot of places where people talk about the Nexus 4 and so far nobody reported anything like "I was playing <3D intensive game here> and my phone shut down". Stop scaring me, I really want this phone :C
They've been talking shit about my Note 10.1 too. I love the device. Don't listen too much guys! I haven't seen any flagship device NOT getting shit in this thread.

What is this wizardry? What brazen company would give away the precious resource of data without any metered price?? Oh, and Canada is even worse than the US because we have caps on our home internet usage too. And yes, you pay extra on that too if you go over. Ironically, "4G" on my phone is about 4x faster than my home internet, yet the usage limit is 15000x less.
Speed throttled after 1GB here with T-mobile (Netherlands).
Lucky. You are so lucky. Don't ever complain about throttling. At least you know your bill is still going to be the same price.
Yeah Bells plan seems like the best with most data if that's what you need.
Sweet, Bell also has the S3 for $100 instead of Rogers' $150. (Yes, I know it's on a contract and contracts are bad.)
It was free on Bell on the weekend...
Did you get that better multitasking (the one from Note 2) yet? edit: I meant multi-window multitasking.
Oh the dilemma OH THE DILEMMA Look at this shit right here: That's awesome right? If I flash the German ROM, I'll probably have Jellybean and that jizzle in that video. However, I'm currently running CM10. Soon, I'll probably get CM10.1. What do? It's a true dichotomy. Either Cyanogenmod based on Android 4.2 or Jellybean stock with the jizzle.
It was free on Bell on the weekend...
Oh well, doesn't matter. I'm not actually switching now, just planning. My Fido contract is only up in May. EDIT: There might even be an S4 by then.

I've used pretty much every Samsung tablet until now, and even though the few latest ones are considerably faster than the rest, that video still seems way too fast.

They have the best networks in every sense of the word from my experience, and they have more options than Telus whom they share networks with. Also it wasn't that smooth when I used it either. It's probably like most of Samsung's ads where the screen is edited on [editline]29th November 2012[/editline]
Man, I don't know how the US and Canada get away with charging such abhorrent prices for data. It doesn't justify how much more expensive they are, but having to invest more in the network does justify a price increase of some sort.
They've been talking shit about my Note 10.1 too. I love the device. Don't listen too much guys! I haven't seen any flagship device NOT getting shit in this thread.
I just expect a lot from OEMs when they release consumer electronics for hundreds of dollars. especially when they're "flagship". In hard on the GS3 for feeling like a toy, I'm hard on the Atrix and RAZR because Motorola's software support is awful, and honestly, when someone's selling a product for hundreds, the flaws are important. people want different things and will tolerate some flaws for some features. its good to make the flaws known.
Does anyone here know anything about Straight Talk? Its a prepaid US carrier. Thinking of going for the $45/30 days thing. Unlimited talk and text, and "unlimited" 3G speed data until around 2GB (from what I'm reading online) that works on T-Mobile and AT&T networks and phones.
Whenever a black screen is being display on my Note, not true black but an off-black like the background of some apps, there's a black streak on the right of my phone and some random black splotches on the screen. Does anyone know what this is? I can't believe they'd be dead pixels, as colour is displayed fine-ish (bar the standard cross-hatching). Here's a recreation of what I'm talking about, I can only see it when the only light source is the screen itself. It's definitely not smudge marks or anything like that.
Its a common problem on AMOLEDS, I have the same thing on my Gnex, though not to the same extent.
my Maxx does this... I asked a while back, to no avail. if anyone knows, it'll be kaabii.
Some problem with AMOLEDs. Happens on all my Samsung devices. The solution is to buy devices with good screens instead of being beta testers for an unfinished immature technology. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline] To be honest I think a lot of the issues with AMOLED screens are just due to quality control. They're too expensive to produce to just throw out everything that isn't an A grade panel.

So my Apple-loving brother got given a Nexus S after his iPhone broke a few months ago. Today he was given the option to upgrade to the iPhone 5 or Nexus 4, and he went Nexus. He still refuses to admit he's liking Android :v:
but oh man it's nice to see myself back when i actually liked stuff but i know how it all goes they'll release an ics rom for the note and the end will come
