I just realized that as of yesterday my S2 is a year old. I'll buy an ice cream sandwich and stick a candle in it tomorrow.

3.55GB at 2G speeds v:v:v
I would kill to have a plan where I get free 2G after my limit, instead of being charged extra for over use.
Would flashing a stock rom with SuperOneClick over the rom I got now work, or would that cause more problems, or even brick it? Sorry to keep posting my woes here, but literally nowhere else would help me :<
When I was trying to get my phone (Galaxy Ace) onto ICS, I had to install a recovery manager, but the instructions on how to install said recovery manager seem to be different with every site. Could someone explain to me exactly what it is I'm meant to do (hopefully it's not too much trouble). I've already Rooted it (I've got an application called 'SuperUser', so I guess that's all unless I have to do something else?)
Thanks in advance scholars of the 'Droid.
Posting from my nexus 7. I am in love with his tablet.

Yeah, you're gonna have to flash a stock ROM. Although I don't think SuperOneClick can do that. I'm not sure how to flash without a screen; maybe ODIN?

Looked about online, I'm still actually under Orange's warranty for about another week.
Fuckin' lied to me twice.
I would kill to get my unlimited back. At first I could get past 2GB and remain the same speed but now I get limited to 64/64kb/s I can't do shit with that...
Speaking of unlimited data, Giffgaff are changing their goodybags, come about November, £10 will no longer get you unlimited data.
So there's some very faint rumours of Samsung offering to take in your old Galaxy SIII and upgrade it to the model with LTE and 2Gb RAM over here in Europe, seems too good to be true....
So I'm fucked?
-sigh- and herein lies the biggest complaint I have about the advent of these one-click tools and flashable zip files: No one fuckin understands how anything works anymore. You don't need to unroot your phone if you flash the original OTA ROM built for your phone (You DID make a nandroid backup before you went hog wild with the ROM flashing didn't you?). Otherwise you'll have to hunt the package down online and use something like Odin to flash it. Doing so will effectively unroot your phone - as the root tool is basically only a binary file with a permissions manager like superuser/supersu that is not inuded in factory OTAs. If flashing the stock ROM doesn't fix your sleep-of-death issue, you'll have to flash the original recovery as well before you send it back.
Based on the guide you linked, you should have all the drivers setup to use fastboot to flash the original recovery image (connect to PC, open cmd, "fastboot flash 'your-recovery-image-name-here.img'"). You'll have to hunt the stock recovery down as well. I don't understand how people don't know that rooting their phone will completely void their warranty - its basically the very first disclaimer on the top of any rooting article or thread. A word of advice: Take the time to really learn about this stuff before you go rooting your girlfriend's phone. Even if you're buying it, its going to be hers and she's going to have to deal with any issues that might arise from your tinkering. A lot of the time this is why people jump ship from android - an overeager family member roots a phone they otherwise didn't have a problem with, and it suddenly acts weird or wonky and they trade it in for an iPhone because "it just works".

True. But I think using SuperOneClick to root is a lot safer than flashing. SuperOneClick just uses an exploit to launch a root ADB session, and then uses that to install SuperUser. And if you used SuperOneClick to root, you can use it to unroot because it knows where it installed SuperUser, so it can delete it too. Unfortunately, SuperOneClick only works for Gingerbread and Froyo AFAIK.
*words*
I knew it'd void the warranty, and yeah, I don't think the whole 'sleep of death' is related to the rooting, personally. Just seems like the digitizer is either loose or broken. I already looked it up and opening this thing isn't a good idea unless you know what you're doing.
Chill.

Hmm, thanks, I'll keep that in mind, but I'd like something more full blown/not a widget. Anyone else know of another app?
Whats the best app for playing music off my pc on my phone? I have my whole library shared on my home network (and yes...I have wifi)

Not Canada. Canada loves to gouge people for data usage. Even on home Internet plans -- most are 25 GB a month, and you pay out the ass if you go over.
(You can get true unlimited plans on the newer mobile providers, but you sacrifice quality.)

I don't know the best, but a quick search gave me Air Playit. For some reason, the app isn't on the Google Play store.
